After 50 minutes of driving, I stopped by (3 days ago) to see if I can use the restroom before going to my next work appointment. The chubby gal at the counter - who has a headset on was giving me an attitude about refusing to let me use the restroom unless I purchased something. So I told her that's fine I will after I can use the restroom first since it was locked. She rudely replied back "I have heard that before" with her eyes rolled and turned her back on me. I said "excuse me how am I gonna order if u walked away and turned your back on me?" She never turned around to take my order. I was well dressed & nicely groomed compared to her.... WOW I left with scratching my head because if this is a big recognizable restaurant chain then the owners/franchisees should really check their cameras and train their staff before things could end up viral on social medias which could be bad for business. I just witnessed the Manager Cindy taking orders for people in line at the drive through. She was using hand gestures when people were taking too long to order. She was also quietly saying people were stupid while ordering inbetween orders. The customer service at this location is sub par. Is it because it's a franchise and not a corporate location? Honestly , I think they have the best quality burgers at great prices. I haven't ever been disappointed, and they pass their meat though fire. I don't know what people can really complain about, and their breakfast deals are amazing and taste is great. I have been going to Carl's Jr, for at least 3/4's of my life at all kinds of locations, in California and other states. Normally the service is exceptional and the food is fairly good at a reasonable value. One that is fairly close to my house, I frequent at least three times a week. So they have this fairly new gay dude (w/orange hair) who seems to think he's an owner or something. If I get the special and say it's for a senior, he has an issue. I have been told that the restroom is out of service several times. I've been told I needed exact change more than once... Lately I came with a friend, (who was visiting), and had some food from next door that we were both finishing, out from the heat, on a very hot day... before we would order food before leaving, to take home and give to his roommates and save 1/2 for the refrig. (Didn't want fresh food to just sit and become room temperature). So I guess, I feel because it got slow... this guy who I've seen many times comes up, all the way across the room to be sure and say that we can't bring in food from outside... blah blah blah. We are not children. I have a son, probably twice his age. And more respectful. I guess he's just doing his job, but is this a proper way to treat someone you've seen many times, a senior citizen, and is a regular customer! So we didn't get the food to go. My friend just ordered (1) coke, and we left to go to another place and spent almost $35. Had he been a little bit nicer (been welcoming, and could of mentioned seeing me before as a customer)... Things might of gone differently. Maybe he hates white males? Maybe he hates seniors?? Because we always want to use the restroom?? Because we always ask for specials??? As of this writing (Oct 30, 2017) I have visited this location 5 times in the past two months, & their screw-up ratio is a staggering 100%. I literally have never, in all my life seen such spectacularly consistent ineptitude from ANY service in my entire life. 1st visit) Wrong combo was delivered/mixed up with another customer. My thought: "Sigh. Whatever, it happens." 2nd visit) Douchebags either take advantage of the fact that I'm new, charge & give me another burger that I did NOT order, or just are incapable of hearing. Either way, BS! 3rd visit) Tied for the epitome of screw-ups: Talked to the 12-year old looking manager about past incidents, got a nonchalant "Oh, sorry" Gave them the simplest instructions ever (2 identical combos, with no pickles on the burgers). & say that I'm taking my business elsewhere if they screw up again. I get home, see "special" sticker on burgers implying that they acknowledged the fact that something was supposed to be different... and it STILL HAD PICKLES ON IT! 4rth visit) A month passes & I decide to give the establishment another chance, after all, few people stay in fast food for long. And now we come to the other tie for the epitome of screw-ups despite the most simplistic of instructions. I order 2 5$ combos just like last time... total = $20... ... THEY GOT 5 + 5 WRONG! I WAS DEALING WITH MORE COMPLEX EQUATIONS BEFORE PUBERTY FOR THE LUVAGAWD! 5th visit) I'm told that the sandwiches don't even HAVE pickles. Get home. Pickles... The food was cheap & serviceable but I expect competence above the level of the average howler monkey when it comes to service, ESPECIALLY when DIFFERENT PEOPLE are taking the orders! Little mistakes are understandable, we're human, of course it's going to happen. But when you have a 100% screw up rate, the sample size is more than 3, & it's not the same person screwing up over & over something is wrong. My advice: 1) NEVER USE THE DRIVE-THROUGH. Or if you do, don't leave before checking your food. & ALWAYS CHECK YOUR FOOD REGARDLESS. 2) ALWAYS HAVE THEM READ BACK YOUR ORDER & CHECK RECEIPT lest you order a small soda & get charged 1.5 million because the cashier thought you said you wanted to buy the companies or something. 3) Or better yet just DON'T GO HERE AT ALL. I'm not coming back for 6 months at a MINIMUM because if the staff is THIS terrible at taking customer orders & basic math, then I shudder to think what passes for "clean" or "acceptable number of times forgetting to wash hands after taking a dump". While this is a fast food place so expectations are never really high I do expect decent customer service. The woman on the drive through intercom was nasty, rude, unprofessional and down right pissy. My husband was ordering a chicken sandwich, requesting a crispy patty in place of the charbroiled. He then was lectured on how the patty only comes in one way and that if she were to make it crispy she would have to burn it. Apprently she has no concept of just swapping one patty for another based on the customers preference. She lectured us so long on the process of thier food receiving that a line actually formed behind us. Unfortunately she is not the same woman who greeted us at the window so I was unable to see her name but an older woman with smokers lung should not be too hard to identify. read more
