My new car, Don and I.
Vicente M.

I came in to CarMax today to purchase my very first car. A 2021 Nissan Sentra. I have been reluctant to purchase a new vehicle because of the commitment it takes. But I have finally decided to take the leap. I went to three different dealerships before I came to carmax and I must say that the experience that I have had here helped earn them my business. At the other dealerships there was a lot of back and forth and honestly I just don't have the time. Every single person here greeted me with a smile and was polite to me. I set an appointment with carmax and was seen after ten minutes of waiting. Every department seemed fairly busy and there were a few walk in's. They sat me with Don Philips who is a complete professional. He was patient with me and didn't pressure me into purchasing any extra features. I can describe the experience as going into footlocker and buying a pair of sneakers. I came into carmax, Don came out, I asked him for a Nissan I seen online, he showed me the car. The car was the same price as promised plus the taxes and $80 service fee. The taxes hurt but I guess we can't do anything about that. Overall I stood within my budget and walked away with a new car and some financial knowledge. I drove here in my old Corolla which that took off my hands. I don't have the time to sale old car so that gave me peace of mind. I was there a little over three hours, but things would have moved little faster but i lost about a half hour trying to get my approval letter from the bank off the website provided to me. But like I said Don was extremely patient. And extremely busy I might add. He had a separate set of customers waiting for his services but was able to manage it all very well. Thank you Don and everyone at carmax for making this experience fun for me.

This is the 2nd vehicle I have bought from CARMAX. The first lasted about 8 years until it died end of September this year. Attempted searching for a decent reliable used vehicle on FB, Craigslist & word of mouth. A majority of the ads were fake or the sellers flaky. If it was a decent vehicle it was literally gone in 60 secs., CARMAX actually has a pretty neat system on searching the stock available & checking to see if you prequalify for a car loan. They work with a lot of finance companies & can have you driving out the door. This particular location sales floor was very clean, air conditioned & smelled great. The staff & sales people were nice. Their system is actually quite impressive from sales, waiting rooms & the closing out the deal. I was helped by Sal R. & had me driving off the lot in a SUV nicer then the one I went to see. He then brought me to Jennifer who helped with the final details like DMV paperwork & the warranties. Sal was good about checking in on me while the vehicle was getting ready to debut the world as my new used vehicle. I would say it was a long day but easy process!

Hello this is carfax----the car you didn't see or get to drive is now suddenly AVAILABLE

For anyone thinking of buying a used car, I would NOT recommend CarMax. Yes, their sales point is that you pay a fair price and prices are non negotiable because they are ALREADY FAIRLY PRICED. But what does that mean for you?? Let me explain: Long, long wait times even when you've requested an appointment. I waited over 2 hours with a scheduled appt at 11am. Still no one was available ,so I left to a dealer across the street. I was seen IMMEDIATELY at the Subaru dealer. Test drove right away!!!! Yes. You pay a commission fee but it's worth it, to get the process going with the purchase of a vehicle especially since I done have one right now. NOW, carfax is messaging me daily "Hi, this is CarMax. We're preparing for your appointment. To save time during your visit, you may want to consider an express pickup, which means we'll prepare the car and paperwork so it's ready when you arrive. Is now a good time to talk or text?" What car?? What paperwork?????? These are just lies. I'd rather go to a dealer and give them the commission but get taken care of the same day. And stop messaging me!!!!

Came here today to sell my old 2015 Mitsubishi mirage. We've been having trouble with it (check engine light on) and had already bought a replacement vehicle late last year, so we decided it was time to move on and part ways. After some research, we decided that selling was probably our best option. Due to the repairs needed, we did not want to sell privately, so we opted for carmax. I had an appointment for 11 am and we walked in and were seen right away after checking in at the front counter. The guy who took my key to complete the appraisal said it would be about 25-30 min. We waited in one of the waiting rooms where they gave vending machines and coffee, as well as outlets. After the appraisal was done, we walked over to the business office to review the offer. We felt like we were getting a very fair price and decided to go ahead and sell. The person at that counter said it would be about a 45 min wait and about 15 min to complete the offer. We were there a total of about 2 hours and walked out with a check in hand. It was a very easy and transparent process all the way through. Everyone who attended us provided great customer service.

Can you help me find right cars or truck or SUV AND i am rather vehicle with roof rack and rear spoiler? and which vehicle fix and match for me?

I would suggest you research what you want and find a car that fits your wants/needs before heading to a dealership. Know what you are willing to spend and always bring a friend/family member who will keep you on track on your spending. Another set…

How much would I get for my 2010 Toyota Corolla in fairly good condition?

Actually you will not know the answer until you have your vehicle appraised. But keep in mind that once you receive an offer from CarMax you have seven days to decide whether or not to accept their offer. If you go beyond the seven day period…

Hi I have bought my last 2 cars there. I'm looking for an Audi Q-5 2016/2017 in a silver gray, grayish-blue or black. Looming to buy for 30,000 or less. I have a 2013 Honda Civic for trade-in with a few scratches, no body work needed. Can you help?

You should make an appointment and visit CarMax for an appraisal. I've sold my car through private,…

Out of all the service advisors I've encountered across Mercedes-Benz dealerships, he stands out as the most honest, detail-oriented, and consistent. He takes the time to answer every question thoroughly and keeps me updated throughout the entire process--which, in my experience, is not always the standard elsewhere. That level of transparency and communication is something I really value. The rest of the team is equally professional and welcoming! It's clear the department is well run. Car service is never something you look forward to, but Miguel makes it as seamless and stress-free as possible--which says a lot.

This review is strictly to the sales guy Stephen Rodriguez phone number (562)746-8915. When looking over the car I purchased I notice the engine cover was missing. He said it must of been lost during detail. And had assured me before purchasing the car he would order a new one and get it to me asap. Well here we are 3 months later and still no engine cover. We have been back and forth for months now of him giving me the run around and excuses of where the engine cover is. I have had multiple response from him, and now he has officially stopped messaging me back. He has gave me a number to Felipe ( 7145621279)in parts who I have left multiple messages to and he has never responded to me either. This is seriously a joke that something so easy as an engine cover to purchase and hand to a customer has been this hard to accomplish for him I couldn't imagine actually getting my vehicle serviced here. I first test drove the car at AutoNation's Torrance (South Bay) location. I wasn't ready to buy it…read morethat day, and since I live in Orange County, I was told I could have the vehicle transferred to the Buena Park location when I decided to purchase it. Before buying, I specifically asked multiple times when the 5-day return guarantee would begin b/c I knew I would be purchasing the vehicle on one day and picking it up another. Everyone I spoke with, including employees at the Buena Park location, told me that it would begin when I picked up the car. When I arrived, I was told by Jose, the finance associate, that the 5-day period had actually started on the date I purchased it several days prior. Since It was a Saturday. That left me w/ only until Monday to decide whether to keep it. Not many auto shops are open on Sunday, b/c it was Saturday evening atp. I expressed my concern and addressed the contradiction. I was told, "I'm sure they'll honor it" if there were any issues, but when I asked for that assurance in writing, Jose refused. I asked to speak with a manager, but he sent in Ed, who he had just advised was not a manager and he also refused. Ed was actually one of the people who told me that my 5 days would start when I picked up the car. He denied this and advised that all calls are recorded. I asked if the transcripts could be pulled up in that case & he says that can't be done. I ask again for the manager and the next guy said he was the sales manager and he finally agreed to put it in writing and extend my return period by an additional two days. I had the car inspected shortly after & was advised to return it. Although my written extension gave me until Wednesday, I returned it on Monday. When I arrived, I was told I had "just made it" within the 5-day return period, which I found odd since I had documentation showing my deadline had been extended. I was then told I had also "just made it" under the 250-mile return limit. That didn't make sense b/c I had barely driven the car. When I asked what mileage they had recorded, I found that my purchase contract listed the exact same mileage that appeared in the online ad, meaning the mileage had never been updated after my test drive. I asked if they included the miles used to transport the vehicle from Torrance to Buena Park. He couldn't confirm, but it seemed to be the only explanation (for at least a fraction of the miles put on me). That's odometer fraud. I asked whether my cash down payment would be refunded to my debit card or by check. He couldn't answer that either. He said that he would find out the following day. When I didn't hear anything, I called on Wednesday. Jose checked on my return and emailed me confirmation that my down payment would be refunded to my debit card. However, I received no confirmation that the loan had been canceled or that the funds had been sent back to my lender. My online banking still shows the full loan amount. Since then, I've spent days trying to get answers. I keep getting transferred to vm after vm, and now my calls from my personal phone go directly to a general vm without reaching anyone. Yet, when I called from my work phone, I reached a person immediately. Once they realized who I was, I was transferred repeatedly. Then, I was put on hold by "JP" for over 30 minutes. When I asked for anybody available in finance. I called back and was told by Bruce that everyone from finance was in a meeting and he would be sure to have someone call me back (4 hours ago). They always act busy when I call, but every time I've gone in, it has been empty/slow. Atp, I've contacted AutoNation's corporate office and I'm waiting for a response. I'll write a separate review about what was wrong w/ the car, but my customer service experience w/ the purchasing, return, and communication process has been terrible. This was my third car that I bought from AN btw, and it will be the last. Update: it has been 24 hours since I've contacted corporate and heard nothing back yet. See my Google review for why I returned the car.

Our most recent experience, we actually started going to different dealerships to see what others could offer but ultimately came back to Premier because they offered a better deal. Don't bother with the service department…read more Bad communication. Car was there for two days, hardly any service was preformed. My car needed software updates that would prevent unnecessary warning lights, was immediately told by the service advisor that there "weren't any updates. I checked" In reality, only the technician can see software updates when they hook up your vehicle to their computer. When I asked for an estimated day of completion, Lou replied "Dunno. Could be 2 days, could be 10..." Paperwork stated AC hissing sound was identified. I was told "it's supposed to sound that way." No requested software updates were performed, because I got another warning light immediately on the drive home. Recall service was not performed. Lou told me the dealer would only let them order one part at a time and there were 9 people ahead of me. Everything about this interaction had a "meh" attitude to it. It was a complete waste of my time, and I spent two full days without a vehicle. Days later, I took my vehicle to Cerritos Dodge. Over 20 different software updates were performed that affect each of the vehicles operational modules. Big difference from "there's none." They also completed the recall service while Buena Park is still waiting to order parts one by one for 9 different customers. I also had a rental provided to me while my vehicle was in for service. The experience was night and day. Seriously, do not waste your time with Buena Park "Premier" CDJR Service.
