Price is good that's why anyone would by here, customer service is garbage and all cars come with some kind of issue. I purchased a 2015 Srt from them, informed them the brakes are sounding weird, vibrations, weird sound at slow sleeps and my car is shooting forward. They claimed to have looked at my pads, that they're like brand new. This problem continued so I looked at them my self. As you'll see from the pics below, they obviously lied, brakes are a serious manner and I could've hit someone, ran off the road and or gotten seriously injured. It takes about 45 minutes and they drive and evaluate your car on the lift, too. In a short time, I was called into the office to see Sylvester again and he gave me the value they'd give me for my car. It was in the blue book range, and I will accept it when I close the deal on my new car. This makes getting rid of your old car so much easier and you can do a straight forward deal with the new car dealer. It makes it a much easier way of doing business. Even with Covid and the poor customer service and waiting days for a callback did not cause me to leave a bad review. I bought a $38,000 tundra that I had shipped in from Ohio. I paid $1800 just for the transportation. Much to my surprise, I pick up my truck and then within two days I hear steel on steel grinding in the brakes. Taking off the wheels, I could see that there was absolutely no brake pad left. What happened to these guys inspecting vehicles before they sell them? I brought it in for service. They said they replaced the front and rear brake pads and rotors. Here we are two months later steel on steel grinding in my back wheels again. Clearly they didn't replace shit. Toyota is brake pads last 50,000 miles or more and I'm not even into this truck for 8000 miles yet. Never ever again will I ever consider buying something from these guys. read more

I was nervous before showing up here because of all the horror stories I had read online about being ripped off or lowballed when selling a car to them but Amelinda L assured me that I would have a positive experience and provided me with her contact, Joe Memolo. Note: This review only reflects my experience in selling a vehicle to them as I have not purchased or serviced any vehicles here. Joe was really nice and walked me through the process even when knowing that I was not going to buy a vehicle from him on the same day. Even though he was busy completing a sale, he met up with me to discuss my car and put it in to start the appraisal process before returning to the customer he had been meeting with. I waited for about 15-20 min before he returned and told me that my appraisal had been completed. Wow that was fast! We then went over the appraisal on his computer, which included the CarFax report, and despite a couple of issues found that I was unaware of, I couldn't believe the offer because it was higher than I had expected! He then printed the written offer from CarMax and informed me that I had 7 days to decide. I told him that I would accept it on the spot and had my title with me. Joe then walked me over to the business office where I met with a buyer to complete the contract, titling and other paperwork. I also had a chance to clean out my car and they removed the license plates for me. This phase took about 30-40 min. I was pleased and pleasantly surprised at how smooth the process was. Never was there any lag time, stress, confusion or changes to the written offer they had given me. Once everything was completed I was given copies of all paperwork signed and my check for the sale and I was out the door! Joe stopped back by halfway through the paperwork process to check on me which was great to see. Nothing could have made the process any smoother and I was in and out the door in less than 90 min. However their back office finance dept is SLOW And lack service delivery in other words their position is take it or leave it. We relented. Now 2.5 hours later we still set and wait while they take their time produce more documents and then want to explain Them. On top of it their not even apologetic for any of it. Reps really try hard to help you find what you're looking for as you tell them your requirements with out being a salesman shark. Ours searched on a hand held device as I test drove, awesome service! Appraisals are fast and last a week. Summer is the worst time to look for a car in this desert heat but you can walk around with a provided water and umbrella to make you feel more comfortable! The lot is packed with various vehicles. The reps offer to transfer cars for you if you don't find what you're looking for at that location. There are free transfers in near by locations and ones you'll have to pay for upfront. Adding the total to your loan will increase your %. The highest transfer fee I seen online was $800 with in my suv searches. I reviewed almost daily for 2 months on the Carmax website. The website not only offers a trim package (i.e. preferences for the car like rear AC and a back up camera) upfront with out needing to narrow down a make which is unlike other websites, it's just a wonderful time saver. You can request a car be held for you on the spot, transfer a car (takes 1week) and buy - all from the website! You can also click on the interested vehicle and scroll through a car fax and reviews. I cross referenced reviews on other sites as Carmax didn't have too much on their website for my preferences. TIP: if working with a rep give them the credit for the transfer or give them a call and have them reserve it for you. You may only have one transfer at a time. My personal experience: -Appraisal of $2000 -Online searches -Came in and test drove my interests Searched in store with amazing rep Richard Yolo Transferred a car -Test drove the transferred car Bought the car! Buying the car: Arrived at 9am for the test drive with two young children under 6 in tow. Appraisal started on the trade in ($2000). Looked over the transferred vehicle. Test drove. Rep went over features we may have missed when looking the car over upon arrival. Sat down to buy. We were pre approved through another outside company however Carmax offered a lower % rating that we ended up accepting. Really easy process!! No pressure to add other add-ons but was offered. Carmax offers a wide variety of add-ons which is really nice. Purchasing vehicle went in for a clean up. We were 4th in line at 10:45 am for signing. Signed paperwork and headed out! Total of 2.5 hours from arrival to drive off WITH a full tank of gas! I must say, with one child skipping his nap to get this done the staff was very friendly as he roamed through the main building. I've been looking for the 350z nismo for months and couldn't find any at any car dealership in Vegas so my last option was Carmax. Found 3 of them and decided to transfer one ( all the way in Kansas ) back to this location. Janelle, who helped me with the transfer, was really helpful and friendly, she followed up with all the information and answered all the questions I need an answer to. And the car would take up to 25 days to arrive but only take 1 week to arrive, before schedule more than 2 weeks!!! Can't get happier than that even tho the fee to transfer was $649. The buying process was easy and fun. No financial problem or hassle. And most of the bad reviews on here are about service department so I didn't buy warranty plan which I don't need since I'm studying to be mechanic and specialize in Nissan vehicles. This review is for the professionalism and amazing customer service that Robert Steele provided me. I called into carmax and asked about a specific vehicle they had. The representative told me that I could be seen immediately and that's were she transferred me to Robert. He gave me all of the information of the vehicle and we began the test drive. When I informed him that, for that day all I would be doing is test driving it he said that was ok and that there was no pressure to sell right then and there. When we finished, I could tell I wanted that make and model but was not in love with the vehicle they had so I asked Robert to be on the lookout for one in my price range. This is were Robert went above and beyond! Every day he would text me with a new vehicle that matched my many requests and together we would figured out if that was the best one. He would look as close as California all the way to Florida. The amount of time in searching was truly appreciated. He even asked me to let him know if daily car details was too much which meant he was considerate of my time as well. Unless you agree to be fucked up the ass by higher than necessary interest rates, they won't even hold the car for you so no one else can buy it wtf kind of stupid rule is that? Having a sales background, I could see through every trick these sales people wanted to use. This lady asked me to check out a car and what she said basically translated to, "Oh you better hurry and get it -- unless you bundle with our loan service, that car is not going to be off limits. We won't hold it for you." I looked back at her and said, "I don't have scarcity mentality.." as that's an obvious sales tactic to get you to buy right then and there (literally terrible sales, they were more focused on getting me to sign their stupid loan bs than getting me a car I would actually be happy with as well as was what I was looking for..) Anyways.. Their program basically wants you to pay 10-15% APR (assuming you have good credit, I couldn't imagine with crappy credit) when my credit union was more than happy to (with just their loan) make it 3% APR. Got a quick offer for my still-under-warranty and fully-loaded Jaguar that was not only fair but almost 25 per cent higher than the Jaguar dealer offered me on the same day. No stalling and no pressure to buy a replacement vehicle. The sales consultant, Trevor M., was very friendly, welcoming and efficient. (Needless to say I sold the vehicle to them, though at the Henderson location which was closer to home.) I would definitely do business with them again. They pretend to operate in a reasonable way compared to their predatory competitors However, their practices are no more reasonable IMHO. Brought my car in for one issue. That issue got fixed but when I left they had not properly reinstalled the plastic piece that protects the under carriage of the car so when I went above 60 MPH it would catch wind and rattle against the bottom of the car. I called and left multiple voice messages, but did not hear back. I got a call back after the third voicemail. I took the car in to get fixed, but by that time the piece that had not been properly reinstalled had begun breaking away from the car. They insisted that I had hit something and caused this and made me pay for the repairs. read more

I bought my car (2019 vw jetta SE) at Carmax in February 2021. Since then my car has had nothing but issues. March 2021 - front grill was replaced by CarMax with non factory parts, thus resulting in voiding the warranty from VW. June 2021 - front assist sensor goes out. VW recalibrated the sensor. August 2021 - 4 new tires had to be put on. September 2021 - front assist sensor is out again, check engine light is on, and sunroof mesh doesn't work. Check engine light codes show small emissions leak, i replaced the gas cap, this did not fix the code. October 2021 - car is at carmax, Archie was dismissive and did not want to listen to my concerns. Even though I provided the codes regarding the check engine light, the service team still needs to run their own diagnostics at the tune of $90. I advised about the front assist sensor, the response i got was, can you show me? Yes, its in the grill that was replaced with non factory parts. I asked about a rental, They don't provide them unless they have to keep the car overnight and they wont know about that for several hours. I would not recommend CarMax to anyone even if it was a last resort. NEVER AGAIN. read more

Do not buy a vehicle from this place they will sell you a vehicle with damages and they will not fix it. I bought a 2020 Subaru WRX from here and it had minor cosmetic damages that could be easily fixed. It was missing a side panel from the mirrors, steering wheel was not aligned, and two minor cracks in the windshield. I reported it to the service department and the next available appointment was not until the next week. When I arrived for my appointment the representative explained to me that the side panel mirror part was not going to arrive for another week. I had reported the missing item a week prior and this was not ordered prior to me arriving a week later. I left the vehicle for the remainder of the whole day to fix the other issues. The cracks on the windshield and the steering wheel misalignment. When I returned to pick up my vehicle I noticed that the windshield was still cracked and the steering wheel was not aligned. I contacted the sales person who sold me the vehicle and requested to speak to a manager about the whole ordeal. He transferred me to a sales manager(Mike) and the first thing he said to me was "that's service department's job not mine" Implying that he did not want to do anything about my vehicle's damages. Not sure if I caught him on a bad day or he was just rude to every complaint. However I felt like my case was unimportant to him. I returned the vehicle within a week and made me wait a week for a check to get my money back. Which seemed unreasonable given that they had sold the car I traded in faster than a week. I would have kept the vehicle if they had just fixed the minor cosmetic damages. I did not feel like a valued customer here. I wouldn't recommend this place to anybody after the treatment I was given. read more

i recently purchased a car from carmax. i realized that the blind spot monitors were not working, so i took it to volkswagen to get it checked out. volkswagen called me back letting me know that the car seemed to have been in an accident and the previous owner had tried to fix it themselves, and that they were going to have to take the entire bumper apart to take a look at it. i'm just really annoyed that they didn't check this previously and now i'm stuck figuring this out myself. turns out i am not the only person that carmax has fooled. i will not be back. i would rather pay dealership markup prices than deal with this again. i'm just glad i was able to return my car and take my money elsewhere. read more

I bought a 2016 Hyundai Accent Sport last Friday, March 9, 2018 from them. I didn't drive the car till Saturday night cause I still had a rental for free till today. When I washed the car Sunday morning I saw a small crack on my windshield and told myself "Hey I can bring it back to them cause I have a 30 day warranty." So I came in Monday first thing in the morning and the lady who assisted me said I have to go back today so that the glass guy can take a look at it. Low and behold, they didn't fix it and kept on telling me that "It's a used car." You guys be the judge. I'm very disappointed. Set an appointment online. Drove 40 mins to this location. Checked in at the front desk. Waited over an hour to finally receive a phone call. The employee who called me asked me if i had full coverage insurance to test drive their car. I said no, i have liability only. He proceeded to say Sisolak passed the law that they can't be in the car with us while test driving, which is why they require full coverage to test drive any vehicle. I asked him why didn't anyone inform me that i needed full coverage insurance, why didn't the front desk say anything when i checked in? I wouldn't of even drove to Carmax or waited over an hour for nothing if your STAFF was properly trained. Very unprofessional. If you don't have full coverage don't bother going to try and test drive a car. Because they'll waste your time after waiting hours. read more

I bought a Toyota Tacoma from this location. Never had such a hard time with a purchase . But Orlando was amazing and I highly recommend asking for him personally! He's patient and kind and will make sure your comfortable. He won't push anything on you that your not comfortable with ! Be prepared however to be here a minimum of 4 hours . They did a HORRIBLE job detailing the truck . So definitely look over the inside and out . Once I got home I realized they never gave me a key to the tailgate! Do not buy from this location.. I know we are in the middle of a pandemic but seriously this was the worst experience buying a car. Tried to get a car off the site. Had it shipped. Was called twice to set appt cause the car arrived. First lady obviously didn't set it the first time since the second lady said there was no appt. Confused... I just set it again. Went to store had to look for car in the lot. No car so sales guy went inside got the manager then told me that the car was unavailable cause of a lot of mechanic issues. Fine looked at another car (more expensive) test drove it sort of liked it but was pulling to the right. Said they could fix it and would probably be an alignment issue. Okay sounds okay bought car and took it to get serviced for the alignment. Rude service dept but I just looked the other way since I know we're in the middle of this craziness. But whatever left the car there and they called later said it wasn't the alignment and needed to be looked at by a tech. Offered loaner for time being. So they also offer a 7 day no questions ask return policy but now that the car is in the shop, its cutting into my 7 days of trying it out. Oh yeah, l checked the site 5 days later and the original car I wanted is back up for sale. Huh, thought carmax's motto was they sold reliable affordable cars that were carfax checked and inspected prior to selling. What a joke and a bunch of bs. read more
