Cute, small bakery honestly, it was just filled with cakes and cupcakes. The cake I ordered was absolutely delicious and so fresh! I placed a last-minute order for a Dominican cake with pineapple filling because I had guests over, and it was a hit! I'm not usually a big fan of pineapple, but my guests couldn't stop raving about it and kept asking where it was from that's a win in my book! The service was just as sweet as the cake the staff here are incredibly kind and welcoming. The only reason I'm giving 3 stars is because parking is such a challenge. I went by myself and was lucky that a gentleman cleaning the business next door told me I could block their driveway while picking up my cake. If he hadn't been there, I definitely would've struggled to find a spot. Even though it's a bit of a drive from home, I'd come back to try other flavors but fair warning, parking is rough. read more

I stopped by looking for an afternoon sweet treat and was not disappointed. I was hoping to try their slice of dulce de leche cake, but sadly it was out of stock. I got these instead: Flan - dense, sweet and flavorful. It's great. Tres leches - it came in a cup and with a whipped cream topping. I loved the flavors and how the cake soaked up all the milks here. I called the day before and placed an order to be picked up. They told me arrive by no earlier than 11:30am and it should be done. I went today to pick it up and they did not have my order.it was never taken. The owner took it today and I waited for an hour. I placed a new one and asked for Bavarian cream with strawberry filling and I gave them control of decoration of the cake with colors they can play with. The cake was decorated as if it was for Halloween or fall theme circus so they decided to redecorated the cake but they gave me a pineapple cake instead of for the cake I requested. The owner said it'll be discounted and I paid full price tipped thinking it's what I placed. I'm very upset. And also purchase other desserts. We don't eat deserts like that I feel it's important to support local businesses. I was very unhappy of their dishonesty service especially when godly Christian music is being played in the background and a board inviting consumers to church. I stepped in the day before Thanksgiving because I was picking up lunch up the block. I picked up some items from their pre-packaged selection: rice pudding, tres leche cup, and flan. The rice pudding, according to my husband, was quite good. But we were both not a fan of the tres leche cup or the flan. The flan was super dense and so heavy. It also didn't have much flavor. Worst cake I have ever bought. Did not look at all like my picture, I asked for fondant and they changed me for fondant and gave me the complete opposite. I took the cake because I had no other choice. Worst customer service I have ever experience and they did not care at all. They charged me $200 for the cake and it was not worth it. My family and I have been getting cakes here for EVERY event for years--never again, especially after their awful customer service. My son's first birthday was Memorial Day weekend. My husband picked up the cake since I had no worries about the cake looking like literal shit. I quickly got over the appearance of the cake since I had so much to do that day. We spent $115 for my son's cake to look like a first grade project thrown together last minute. Not only was this not the cake I asked for, it was STALE! The cake was falling apart in front of our guests as it was being sliced--so embarrassing. Everyone was laughing that the "rope" looked like swirly poop--I was mortified. I called after the cake was served and explained what happened. I was immediately met with an attitude (Carmen's daughter) and told--verbatim--"sometimes that happens to icing." I was then offered 10% off my next order--why would I want that after this horrible experience, not to mention your horrific attitude? I wanted my deposit back at least and she would not budge. I asked to speak with Carmen but was told she only speaks Spanish. I arranged to have my father call to explain to her the situation but no one has the time for this--after reading their reviews I am sure the most we would get back is $5-$10. Not worth the aggravation. You've already lost SEVEN customers', including myself, after I showed everyone this disaster and telling them about the awful experience I had with Carmen's daughter. We used to like this place years ago, after giving it another chance unfortunately the cakes are no longer made the same. The cake was dry, it taste old and the frosty was hard and dry with no taste. The flan also didn't resemble a "Flan Feeling" , it was just a piece of dessert not sure if we should call it a flan. it feels like they are making the cakes in here with no love. I was very disappointed with my cake from this bakery. I ordered an 8inch vanilla cake with strawberry filling. I expected fresh strawberries, but instead got something that resembled strawberry jam. But then there was a little tag under the cake that said strawberry rhubarb?? The frosting was like hardened marshmallows/ meringue? It didn't taste too great and the cake was definitely not fresh. On top of that, the cake was not available for the pick up time I requested. I called an hour before the pick up time and a worker said that it was ready and that they just needed to put on an edible picture. But when I showed up two hours later to pick it up, they could not find the cake!! They told me to come back a few hours later when they were less busy. Really?? Thai review now based mainly on the hospitality of the owner. The owner is a kind hearted woman. I went in as I was waiting for laundry to wash at JC Laundromat on the same block. I did not have my wallet with me, and unfortunately they could not do Samsung Pay. So, she gave me the items I wanted to try (flan, two long fruit pastries, and a Dominican cake) and trusted me to pay her later that day. I brought her the money asap but wow I have not seen such trust from businesses like ever. The slice of Dominican cake was good. We ordered a cake for a friend's birthday after reading good reviews and were not disappointed ($15.50 for the smallest size that serves 8). The yellow cake by itself was delicious and it has a very thin layer of guava filling. The icing was the right amount also, not too overwhelming. My Order was fine. Tres Leches was delicious, but I was forced to buy a large sheet cake. There's no medium and the large is huge- price reasonable. The other cake -- I found the dulce de leche filling was odd. It was yellow. I'm use to seeing it a caramel color. Service was professional but I had to "re-ask" for the birthday greeting on the cake at pick-up so that slowed me down. We have Dominican cupcakes from here, kind of bought on a whim, not ordered in advance and they were yummy and delicious. Based on that, ordered a cake for my mom, literally, the simplest cake in the entire world. I told them just just pineapple filling, Dominican cake, white frosting smooth, with a gold fabric ribbon (which I wanted in fondant but they said they could not do in a week), so smooth, flat white frosted so we could put flowers ourselves to decorate. what we got was a cake has the shape of a hat because it was a bit tapered at the top like a fedora (lmao, I have to laugh now that would sell this to someone), but whatever, it was the day of the dinner party and we added the flowers and i was so careful moving that cake thinking is was soft and fresh, little did I know that once we cut that cake it crumbled every where. the frosting was hard and the inside of the cake was also dry, WTF. I had purchased cakes from them for years. However, I am looking for a new bakery. I called two week in advance to place an order for a cake. When I arrived the cake wasn't even started on. It was 3 hours late to the party and when we cut into it it was hard and had the wrong filling. Then when I called o was lied to. The person on the phone had the audacity to tel me the cake was fresh out the oven. Supposedly he frosted a straight out the oven cake and it just happen to make it without melting. And in the heart of it, this bakery...which caters to the indigenous old-school JC hispanic population.
