Omelet with wheat toast and hash browns
    Meredith C.

The ambiance is nice and fitting for the hotel restaurant, which is a former train station. The set-up is nice with tables appropriately spaced and linen tablecloth and linen napkins. We were welcomed by the hostess and seated promptly. The servers were attentive and polite. We had our water and coffee filled throughout the dining experience. Additionally, our order was taken promptly and the food arrived in a reasonable amount of time and was hot. The price was reasonable given the higher end feel and quality of the food. The food was worthy of a '4' rating. Everything was rather good other than the hash browns which I found to be overly salted (and I love salt!) and mushy where I prefer some crispiness to breakfast potatoes. The flavor of the hash browns was good though. The biggest opportunity was the order was mixed up. Our table of six included three orders of omelets that were each subtly different. I believe we actually got what we ordered in the aggregate but each of the three dishes wasn't what we ordered.

We had breakfast here for 4 days in a row while staying at the hotel - very nice venue in the main area of the former train station. We were here during the middle of the week, so we didn't have to worry about crowds. All of our servers were friendly & efficient. Speed of food arrival was good and we were happy with our choices - the real star is the location...the nicely appointed lobby of the former railroad station. Plenty of things to look at while your seated in the cavernous room, including tiled murals lining the walls. Currently 2.0 is only open for breakfast until 11am. I would suggest visiting just for the atmosphere!

Very appealing decor in a redecorated train station. You will have foot traffic in the area since it's open to the lobby of the Radisson hotel. The pork chop ,which they say is one of their specialties, I found not bad but a little to salty. It also needed some sort of sauce along the side. The soup was exceptional and my wife loved her duck. The waitress was very nice. Expect a longer wait time to receive your food( about 60 minutes) since it's prepared fresh.

Three fresh eggs, spinach, feta, tomatoes. Toast, fruit*, and bottomless coffee. *again with the honeydew?

Sunday breakfast omelet for $11 ! Pros: Great for hotel guests, good prices, good quality Cons: nothing (Can't give 5 stars for a regular omelet) Hint: don't sit next to the kitchen entrance--very high traffic area. The historic architecture creates an atmosphere that is spectacular. After eating, make sure to go see the historic photos on display, etc. Sunday morning brunch starts at 11 for $23. Service was great.

Brunch at Carmen's for Valentines Day!

I went to Carmen's Restaurant for brunch on Valentine's day and it happened to be on a Sunday - we read somewhere that Carmen's Restaurant is famous for their Sunday brunch! We called in at around 10:30 am and asked to make a reservation and they said the earliest was at 11 am (they open at 11). We were staying at the Hilton nearby so we were just walking around Scranton and hanging out at one of the coffee shops to kill time so I can't comment on the parking situation. When we walked in we were greeted by the hostess and she sat us down at a table. I have to point out that the service was great - every single server was very attentive with refilling our coffee/oj/water. As for the food, this is a buffet style restaurant. They had a variety of dishes which I took pictures of for your reference! A few of the foods that stood out to me - meaning I could've eaten them for days haha - was the smoked salmon, mixed berry french toast (so good!), eggs benedict, the cannolis, and the cheesecake!! They also had chocolate fondue (not sure if this was just for Valentines Day) with fresh fruit (strawberries, cantaloupe, etc) and a bunch of different desserts. Overall, I enjoyed the decor (it sort of made me feel like I was in reception for something), the food was good, and the service was great.

Excellent food. Breakfast lovely. The best pancakes, rye toast and coffee I think I ever had. Pretty atmosphere and history.

The chicken caesar wrap was also very good. The garlic parm fries were a 10/10 for the crunch and lots of garlic and parm. EDITED TO ADD PRIVATE RESPONSE FROM "Ryan S". We were told…read morethe chicken wings would be 35 minutes, so we opted not to wait that long and ordered something different instead. 35 minutes came and went, and we kept thinking "oh, it'll only be a couple more minutes. It has to be. Because this wait is absurd." Not to mention, they brought out the little condiment container with a few packets of ketchup and some hand wipes, about an hour and a half before our meal was served. Normally, that kind of thing would be brought out just before your meal comes. Like, within minutes. Not hours. Finally had the opportunity to try this place. Sad to say, we were sorely disappointed. The place was empty when we got there. 2 ladies came in after us, ordered after us, and 45 minutes later, they ate their meal and left. Another guy came in after us, ordered his meal, got and ate his meal, and left. Meanwhile, we still hadn't seen our meal delivered and not a word from staff on why on earth it was taking so long. More customers come and go. FINALLY, nearly 2 hours later, we got 3 of the 4 meals we ordered. The food was ok, but definitely not worth that kind of wait and definitely not worth the $20 they are charging for a burger. I got the Steak and Cheese wrap and by the time it was served to us, the wrap was so soggy I couldn't pick it up and had to eat with fork and knife. My daughters meal was forgotten in the order, so I had to go to the counter. Waited approximately 25 minutes before someone came from the back, to the desk where there were about 5 other people waiting. Finally got his attention and let him know he forgot my daughter's meal. They did promptly put her chicken ceasar salad together and brought it out about 10 more minutes later. While we were finishing up, another customer who was also waiting for TWO HOURS FOR FRIES, came back to let them know that his $40 meal of only fries, was soggy and inedible. He was extremely upset The review would be 0 stars, if it weren't for the owner comping our meals because of the ridiculous 2 hour wait. Would have loved to say we'll try the place again. But we won't.

It's also worth noting that expecting a good pescatarian experience at a barbecue joint is more of a me problem. In terms of the space, it had a laid back feel. Not too fancy. Just a bar, with an outdoor patio out back. Lot's of wood surfaces. A good amount of space. It felt comfortable. In terms of the staff, they were generally very attentive. Not fine dining level, but about what you would expect at a neighborhood bar. They did the job and conversed with various customers. In terms of food, everything was fine. I ordered the mahi mahi tacos with a side salad. The side salad was fine. Fresh ingredients. Well presented. The tacos were clearly presented with care, but it felt like they need a little more flavor. Maybe more slaw or some hot sauce on the side. They felt a little meh, even if the presentation was nice. All told, this is a perfectly reasonable place to grab dinner and a beer. It's comfortable. It's open late.

They specialize in farm to table and healthy food. Our plans before were running long but luckily their reservation policies were flexible enough that I had no problem moving my time, even on such a busy day. The restaurant was POPPING when we arrived around 4:30. We were seated promptly. The only downside to our experience was that the table was SUPER shaky and wobbly. We asked our waitress for a shim or piece of paper to steady the table but she informed us it was the table head itself, not the legs, so nothing could be done. I was not thrilled about this but assumed that these were tables they hauled out of storage to accommodate the holiday demand, so I can understand. Our server was very warm and friendly despite the chaos. Prices are on the high side but the quality is good and the portions are large. I went for the lobster cobb which was a special and it was LOADED with lobster meat. They really heaped it on. A little light on the avocado, but overall it was really wonderful. My mother went for a seafood scallop risotto which I also tried. It was creamy and flavorful. Our food came out in a reasonable timeframe, and our server was good about getting our check. One thing I really liked was that they put which dishes on the menu are over 500 calories, and most were under. A lovely, healthy dining choice with a nice ambiance. I'd return!

We found ourselves here on a busy weeknight and what a great dinner we had. Service was very friendly. It was a little on the slow side at first due to the volume but it cleared out soon after we arrived, so it improved. It was a little noisy but tables were not too close together, there was plenty of space. They have a nice wine list. Portions were generous and we boxed up some leftovers to go. We wanted to try other restaurants while visiting the area, otherwise we would have come back to sample more of their menu. We had the halibut from the seasonal offerings, and the burger, paired with the best mexican street corn I have ever tried. Highly recommend!
