We had made reservations two days in advance at a newly opened restaurant cheesecake across the courtyard for a birthday dinner. Even after arriving 15 minutes early, they weren't able to accommodate our party of 14 and made us wait 45 minutes We decided to take a chance and head over to Maggiano's at Tysons, and we're so glad we did! Rosa at the front desk immediately stepped in, worked with the manager, and made arrangements for our entire party. This meant a lot to us because several members of our family had traveled from Canada for the birthday celebration. The hospitality and genuine care we received completely turned our evening around. We've been long time Maggiano's customers for at least 15-20+ years dating back to when they were in Tysons Galleria. Numerous birthdays and large gatherings which were always convenient due to the family style entrees. Must say we stopped going for the last 5-8 years as the food just wasn't as good as it used to be. With the grand reopening in Tysons Corner Center we weren't too excited so didn't make it a priority to visit again but we were craving Italian so we decided to check em out. First off the place is absolutely huge. They took over Brio and La Sandia. There is a large bar area and I'm thinking tables should be available just because the location is so big. It is also nicely designed and inviting which is a plus. As anybody who reviews my profile will know my go-to Italian dish is Chicken Parm. We've also had the Linguini de Mare and the Lasagna. Yeah...pretty good stuff. We all ask why we haven't been to Maggianos more over the past few years. Service has also been fast, friendly and efficient. Not sure why they are at 3.5 stars as we've been pleased and will definitely be back when feeling Italian. read more

Our experience was exceptional, with an impressive interior, spacious dining area, and captivating artwork. The attentive and friendly service enhanced our visit. We were served complimentary warm bread with butter after sitting down, which was outstanding. The food was superb--freshly prepared, promptly served, with generous portions and authentic Italian-American flavor. The pricing was fair, and we felt fully valued. We are already planning to return soon to explore additional dishes. - Zucchini Fritte arrived in generous portions, large enough to share, with a perfectly golden, crispy exterior and tender, moist zucchini strips inside, served with zesty, creamy lemon aioli. - Mom's Lasagna was a high-quality, classic, comforting, and hearty dish. I have always loved the food at the old location, so zi decided to try their newly opened location at Tysons Corner Center. The location itself was nicely decorated and more open than their prior location. I liked their use of hardwood floors over the carpet at the old location. We had 5 people to celebrate 2 birthdays and 3 of us ordered salmon, 2 blackened and one grilled. We had 1 chicken fettuccine alfredo, and 1 seafood variety plate. Without going into each dish, they were all fantastic! They did not disappoint! We also had 2 appetizers, the crispy mozzarella and zucchini frites. Both amazing. We finished the birthday celebration off with a tiramisu, and since we were celebrating birthdays they brought us some lemon cookies on the house. We enjoyed a great dinner at the new Maggiano's in Tysons Corner Center near the Cheesecake Factory. I had Chicken Parmigiana with Caesar salad. Wife had Chicken Piccata with Caesar salad. Both meals were delicious. Prices were higher than I remembered, but the portions were very large. We both have enough for lunch or dinner tomorrow. Service was very good, but the food prep was a little slow on Saturday evening. Place was very crowded so a little delay is acceptable. We will definitely be back. Maggianos now located in Tysons Corner. I've been a couple times when the restaurant was located in Tysons Galleria, it has now since moved to Tysons Corner. The food was as good as before. The new location is easily more accessible and is nice on the inside. The service could be better. The restaurant looks fresh, clean, and updated while still keeping the warm atmosphere that makes it feel inviting. 3.5 It's brand spankin' new and is at the entrance where coastal flats is. It moved over from its long standing Galleria location. I believe the garage number closest to it is #3. I made a reservation For 6 people and were one or the first to get there. I checked in and they kept making us wait for at least 10 mins before we were seated. The restaurant was empty at this time. I know they just opened, but that part was ridiculous. They need to train their employees better. There were 3-4 women all huddling the host desk and I had to go back and ask if everything was in order. It's Father's Day, so clearly, it's gonna be packed to the brim. I would expect the store to know this and be prepared for it. As for the food- yum! I also informed them that I had a pine nut allergy and the chef himself came over to confirm that there won't be any. I didn't even request that, so that was a lovely touch. Other than the hostess, they were all great. I had the lasagna and I barely would finish that but it was good enough that I housed the whole thing. Everyone enjoyed their meal. Very sad that they moved this restaurant from Tysons I to Tysons I. The whole vibe has changed (and not for the better). You can also tell that after start up in the new location, there must have been a huge (if not total) turn over in staff. The management is clearly at a lower standard as evidenced by the reduction in service level. I sat at the bar on two occasions within the first few months of opening and the bar tenders just appeared overwhelmed. It took forever to get service -- they seem overly focused on the making drinks for the waitstaff/tables (i.e., service bar). It's just not the same Margiano's as we experienced at Tysons II for all those years. Food was fine. But after multiple visits in the new location, I haven't yet seen improvements in their service level. read more

We loved the former location, charming, cozy feeling. The food was much better there as well. We recently tried the new location, ordered calamari which was excellent. Unfortunately, the lasagna was subpar, mostly filled with cheese, very thin on the meat. Partners eggplant parmesan was blah, dry pasta. Huge portions but wasn't worth taking the leftovers home. Now have to find a replacement Italian restaurant. Also we didn't like the ambiance, very noisy. The bar staff was making a frozen drink and the blender noise was so audible. *3.5 stars* Nice on the inside, smart casual vibes, but the fact that it's partially al fresco into the mall detracts from the upscale feel. Our server was phenomenal, very sweet and always making sure we had what we needed. The food was lacking though. The Rigatoni 'D' was super mediocre; the sauce was watery and the chicken was clearly previously frozen and frankly, quite bland. It was also lukewarm. Ravioli was pretty good. The butter cake for dessert was not moist inside, but the crust was quite good. Unfortunate because I used to love this restaurant growing up. I was excited to see this restaurant open in the Tysons spot. We had planned to go somewhere else but decided to give it a go. The place is new so the furniture and layout are great, very clean. When we went there was lots of staff but service was very slow. I saw staff walking around... were they holding drinks? No. Were they bringing out food? No. Were they checking on people? Hmmm... nope. Just walking around. Our server was nice but like I said we had to wait a long time for everything. Despite the wait, the food was subpar. My pasta was undercooked but the meat sauce was sooo cooked it was rubbery. A total fiasco. My kids food was also very sad looking. I've never walked out wishing we had gone to the food court, but this is what happened at this place. I won't be coming back anytime soon and I'm bummed because I used to really like the Maggianos in the Galleria. read more

Took my Mom here for lunch today. SPECTACULAR!!!! Used to be in the Tysons Galleria however they relocated to Tysons Corner Center (parking lot area #3) and they renovated the spot that held another restaurant. The ambiance and decor is old school New York Italian vibes with beautiful furnishings and Frank Sinatra music playing in the background. A+ for ambiance. Jason was our waiter and he was attentive and friendly and we really enjoyed meeting him. We were seated right away and served immediately as well. Plenty of staff and all were attentive. We were brought 4 large slices of warm salty/sweet bread with garlic butter - delicious. My Mom ordered the Mushroom Ravioli and it was amazing - I thought about kidnapping the chef :-) It was cooked all dented and the sauce was a mix of sweet and salty and was just amazing. We will come back for this alone! I got the Caesar Salad and it was light and delicious and came with wonderful croutons. Food and service also A+. Fan of the old location. Having it on a single level definitely improves accessibility. Service was super slow. We sat for about ten minutes until a manager realized and brought us water. When the server eventually showed, he was shockingly slow. They forgot the fennel in the spaghetti sauce. We were sat on the patio and I really like being in the food court. On this past Saturday we went to the Tysons mall location were we had reservations upon arrival we had to wait in a line and despite our reservation for a boot we were told to wait aside and wait which is understandable, we eventually taken to our table in the worst part of the room next to the bar completely ignoring our request for a boot even though we told the man at the desk we had reservation for a boot ! Eventually they took us to a boot! The server was great but the food very disappointing!! They doubled the prices gave you huge portions but no quality nothing like a maggiano we were used too! The eggplants were huge not cooked well dry not enough sauce the Alfredo Fettuccini sauce didn't taste like what it should too much noodles little sauce ! The spagethi came with meatballs i specifically asked for no meat but they ignored that! The meatballs were huge, so salty and hard not cooked enough the cezar salad was bunch of lettuce very little sauce did not taste anything like cezar salad! The food is huge portions but low quality not cooked enough too dry and salty ! At the end we did not eat that much most of the food was left we couldn't eat it or leave it we took it home! The good was good. I got the chicken parm, which is my favorite. Dessert was also very good. Our server was excellent. Friendly. Attentive. What I didn't like which will seem nit-picky is the bread. Don't serve me a glorified Parker House roll that I'd find in any mediocre steak restaurant. In an Italian restaurant, I want some crusty Italian bread or roll to sop up the sauce or gravy. Just as good as ever - the calamari is as good as I remember, maybe even better! Was here celebrating a birthday dinner with family and did the family style, appreciate the new options on the menu for it, and will break it all down below. The appetizers, I think, are the star of the show. We got the salads, and mozzarella sticks (yum, cheese pull!) and calamari. The calamari was so light, not greasy at all, crunchy, yet the calamari was so tender. I've had calamari at all sorts of places even at high end places and srsly, this is one of the best around! The pastas, actually were just kinda, meh, ok. I was expecting a little better, but it wasn't horrible, yet the appetizers sorta made up for it. We got the shrimp fra diavolo, and while the shrimp were bouncy, I just thought pasta had a tad too much sauce, not enough spice, and maybe just a smidge too much of cream in the pink sauce for my liking. The lasagna was ok, I just prefer a more authentic lasagna with bechamel sauce, but this was on par with what I expected, so all was fine there. For the entrees, we got the beef tenderloin medallions that comes with mashed potatoes - it comes with a mushroom type gravy - but we asked for it on the side because my family does not like mushrooms. IMHO this proved to be a mistake though because the tenderloin was hardly seasoned and the meat quality was eh, just so so. Again, it's not a steakhouse, so it really wasn't bad. I just had to appease a picky family member who liked beef, but we also ordered the chicken parm, and again, I just thought it was a touch too heavy on the sauce. They used the have this chicken saltimbocca dish that we loved, but noticed it wasn't on the family style menu anymore. It's been years since we have dined here! The tiramisu is as good as I remember and the butter cake was worth the wait. It was warm, with crispy edges and the strawberry sauce added a sweet and tart component, making the cake less heavy. So glad we tried it! For the birthday person, our server brought out lemon cookies and candles, which were also devoured, it was a nice touch to the night and much appreciated. The service in my experience was great - it just that the servers are very busy and truth be told, the new restaurant is super huge so each server has A LOT of ground to cover walking back between kitchen and tables. The plates are ridiculously heavy too, so I kinda felt bad that they had to do so much and it was hard to ask for every little thing, knowing it would take awhile for it to come (I.e. salt and pepper), again I don't fault the servers, they are busy, the restaurant is huge and it's a lot of walking back and forth. We sat at a table near the bar side, and there's even patio seating at the front of the restaurant as well. It was literally packed on a Sat night. Would love to dine here again for another special occasion or a nice night out. read more

Food = mediocre. Service = passable. Security = a real problem. The guy at the table next to us got belligerent about halfway through our meal. Two Maggiano's employees sat down next to him to try to calm him down -- right thing to do. But when he got more belligerent, and we called the police. Yet both the mall security and the Maggiano's host staff colluded to send the police away so as to not have an incident in their restaurant. I called back 911 and spoke to a supervisor, who said that their officers were sent away by the mall and the restaurant. Despite one of the diners being the person who called -- i.e., me. And ultimately, the other diner was allowed to stay in the restaurant. The whole situation was so unsafe, that my entire party of nine people just left. In the middle of our meal. I believe the whole thing was very poorly handled by the staff at Maggiano's, the other diner should have been sent home. Instead we had to leave. And when our safety was compromised, they blocked anyone from the police department getting involved. Just poorly handled all around. Definitely not going back, and definitely not ordering from Maggiano's ever again. PS, the manager gave me his card as we were leaving, and when I tried to call back and chat with him, he was never available. Despite calling back several times. THAT is how they handle things at Maggiano's. Not cool. read more

Visited the newly relaunched Maggiano's in Tysons Corner mall. The restaurant was busy, clean, and moderately loud in the bar area where they sat us. The new and improved menu still had all of our favorite dishes and everything came out perfectly! The waiter and management staff we extremely attentive to our table the entire night! This new location is extremely wheelchair accessible and children friendly, and since a 6 level parking garage is available with elevator and covered parking, we did not have to worry anymore about getting wet in the rain! I would highly recommend Maggiano's, for great food, good price value, and great experience! read more
