First off this place had some decent reviews on burritos. And I like trying little mom and pops . But this was disappointing. I ordered a burrito of asada and some tacos of pastor . Nonetheless the meat was full of fat chunks that you can't eat n I feel that I threw away most of the taco meat in my tacos. I was still hopeful of my burrito but that was also a dud. The burrito was just the same full of chunks of fat and that chewy meat you bite into that gross you out and now u have to spit it out. Came here last weekend because I was craving g some Fresh Chicharones and carnitas w/ Guacamole. To begin, I do have to mention that the Carnitas were better than I expected. It did need a bit of season but nothing a little salt can't fix. The guacamole was a bit upsetting. It was too watery for my liking and reminded me of sauce Instead of traditional Guacamole. The chicharrones were a bit stale for my liking but they were still delicious. Pretty sure they were a bit hard because I went around 4 pm to buy these items. Driving by and saw chicken on the grill at Don Juan's Carniceria and saw a sign 5 tacos for $5.99. You get 5 street tacos of one kind of meat. I got 5 carne asada and 5 pollo asado. I also picked up some Jamaica and a few other things in the store. Don Juan was very nice. Actually, everyone was very nice. The tacos were great!! My mom and my son loved them. This is a nice lil grocery store. Count on the usual cuts of meat you'd find in a carniceria. Prices are decent and selection is great. I come here for the take out, however! Meat is fresh I don't have doubt with that but I read some reviews about price and I don't think is that cheap as they mentioned, nice and welcomed service, but I think compare with other markets this local is a little higher than others. For example: a pound of onions here is $1 and Vallarta was $0.39 so make your decision. Welcomed place or happy wallet. read more

I was amazed at how expensive a tray of Chicken Fajitas,Rice and beans could be thats until I called Carniceria Don Juan their price was waaay cheaper than Vallarta and everything around us.I must say my office has some picky eaters and so I was a bit nervous about what they would think of the food I had ordered, I wanted them to be satasfied and get their moneys worth. Once the food arrived and was devoured by all of us all I heard from everyone was how much they liked the food and could not believe the price for the quality we got. Hands down the best chips and (free) salsa ever! My family and I have been their loyal customers for some years now no matter how far we move .They have great service and make each one of us feel like a valued customer when you walk in and treat you like a friend and not just someone buying from your store. This place is great!!! Forget your over priced Vallartas this place is cheaper and BETTER!!! The staff is extremely nice and welcome you as you come in. They just added a food court in the back of the store and their food is to die for!!!!!! Their tacos are really good, you have to try their home made tamales!!! This place is much cheaper than the larger chain Carnecerias.... and the quality of the products is so much better. My dad lives around the corner, so anytime he has a barbecue, he gets the meat and fixins here. Small Spanish meat shop love it. They have fresh meat and are super nice! They also have food their great when i don't feel like cooking and craving Mexican food. On the weekends they grill food outside and it's sooooo good. Recommend for sure. Ended up here looking for a mix for alpastor seasoning couldn't find ANYWHERE and they had it here!!
