They are unresponsive, unhelpful and rip off their patients. I wanted to get Invisalign to fix some issues before I get crowns, the cost of the treatment was $5650. I went into the office for an appointment to review the treatment plan, a video that showed the movement of my teeth and the end result, at which time I was required to pay the full cost of the treatment upon my arrival - mistake one. I paid for the full amount using the Care Credit card they recommend. I left the office although I wasn't impressed by the plan she had or the video - it wasn't fixing the problems we discussed in previous appointments. Upon leaving the office, I contacted the office many times (calls, voicemails, emails) and didn't get a response for almost TWO WEEKS. When someone finally responded in an email, they said they refunded my account. I checked my account which showed that they only refunded a portion of the cost and I still had a balance of $2,500. I replied and asked why the full amount was not refunded. I have no idea why they wouldn't have refunded all of the money, since I cancelled the treatment after I saw the planned results. They gave me a phone number and told me to contact their billing department. I contacted the billing department and spoke to a woman named Sarah, who was very helpful and said it sounded like I tried to cancel it before they did any work but that the office wasn't responding, so she would need to talk to Dr. Berman before she could refund the rest of the cost. I was hopeful, since I tried over and over to contact them, I thought they would recognize that I had done everything I could, short of showing up at the office, before they proceeded with anything. I never heard back from her. I recently emailed the dentist office and asked for copies of the documents relating to the Invisalign treatment. I had to email them three times before they responded and still, after reviewing the documents, I see nothing that explains or breaks down the remaining $2,500 that I was charged. If they had already made the retainers, I would expect to have them in my possession, but I do not. I am completely dissatisfied with the cost I have incurred for no treatment at all. I have tried to work this out with the dentist office and understand what I am paying for, but they have been unresponsive and unhelpful - I am now going through the painful process of disputing the charges my mail with the credit card company. I am filing complaints about this practice through the DC Dental Society and the ADA - I implore you all to do the same. They will keep robbing people of money until these problems are recognized by higher authorities. read more

Washington Elite Dentistry (Dr. Caroline Berman, DMD) is the best, and I mean the best in the DMV!!!! If you have had terrible experiences with dentists, afraid of needles in your mouth, lose sleep the night before going to the dentist because of fear, then fear no more!!!!! Dr. Berman's office is absolutely wonderful!!!!! I was ALWAYS, ALWAYS, ALWAYS afraid to go to any dentists, because of my awful experiences in the past. Their office is really pretty, the work areas are spotless! Their customer service is AMAZING and everybody is smiling! No hollering and screaming happening here. I was PETRIFIED of going to the dentist, but not anymore!!!!!! Dr. Berman can numb my mouth and I feel absolutely nothing and I am one of the hardest people to numb. On numerous occasions in the past with other dentists, I cried and even would holler a couple of times because it was hard to numb me. They would end of pulling or filling my tooth without it being numb. I felt everything. This made me only want to go to the dentist when I would be in excruciating pain. Today, I received my first temporary crown (2/11/2020) and it was a wonderful experience. I am now back at work smiling like a kid in candy store!!!! Washington Elite Dentistry is the only dentist for me. I have had all of my old silver fillings replaced (and there were many) with porcelain fillings. I swear with my heart, this is the place to go for your dental needs. If you are in need of a specialist beyond her scope of services, she will refer you to someone who will provide you with the same level of care that she does. Dr. Berman's entire staff is WONDERFUL! I have gotten very good dental care at this place, but recently had an inexplicable experience with billing that I have decided not to return. Last fall I was in their office for dental care. I always pay my balance immediately of course. Recently I received a notice from a collection agency for $559.75. I was astounded. I had not received any bill in the mail. I moved from one apt to another in the same building Sept 20th. I had my mail forwarded but clearly this must have come after that 90 days in the early year, and I had not called the dentist with my new apartment number. United Concordia and Elite Dental each contradict each other. But I paid it immediately anyway, the same day I got the letter from the collection agency. But what gets me is that I called Elite Dental to schedule/reschedule appointments in Jan, Feb, and very recently. And they said nothing! Even if billing is separate, I'm sure they've flagged my record. They could have just said "BTW, while we're re-scheduling, did you know you have a balance? would you like to call our billing department, they handle everything...here's their number..." I have a record of paying my balances immediately. Why not say something to me????? This came at the end of an absolutely, extremely stressful workday, but after calming down it still seems like a very weird kind of 'betrayal.' I've canceled my appointment. I had an 'on-lay' done a week ago. It's the original procedure I was scheduled for three weeks ago but I broke a tooth just three days before that visit and instead I had an emergency procedure to crown that broken tooth. An on-lay is like a cap or crown but smaller. It is used instead of or to replace old, deteriorating dental amalgam. Compared to a crown or cap, it saves more of your natural tooth. After the on-lay I was to take a few days to see how I liked it; how well it fit. I was told that if it didn't fit well I could have it adjusted. I got a call about three or four days later asking how well it fit. At that point it was fitting better than it had immediately after the procedure but I wanted to give it a little more time. After a few more days I was certain I wanted an adjustment. So, I called the office and Dr. Berman wanted to see me right away and scheduled me for early that afternoon. I didn't think I could make that time but I said I would try. I got there 30 minutes late but they took me right away. Once Dr. Berman was finished my teeth sat naturally like they did before the on-lay. Today was my first visit with at Washington Elite with Terri and Dr. Berman and it was a fantastic experience from beginning to end. As soon as I booked my appointment a confirmation email was sent with a calendar appointment. Before my appointment I was sent a link to complete the necessary forms so that by the time my appointment cam around all I had to do was show up, give the front desk my photo ID and electronically sign my forms. My appointment started with a quick tour of the office, followed by x-rays and teeth cleaning with Terri who is so sweet and made the whole experience simple and almost enjoyable. Luckily my insurance covered my entire appointment but Terri was very upfront about anything that may have been an extra charge. Dr. Berman came in at the end and was extremely kind and pleasant. I didn't feel like they were trying to sell me on anything too crazy as I have experienced happening at other dentists, and that alone made me feel good about my decision to switch dentists. I honestly don't have anything negative to say and would highly recommend to anyone looking for a great dentist in DC! read more

Dr. Berman is absolutely lovely. She's has incredible 'bedside manner', making sure that I'm comfortable at all times. She also takes the time to get to know her patients on a more personal level, which makes the office feel less clinical than others I've visited. Her staff are prompt and friendly and I've never waited more than 5 minutes for an appointment. The office itself is nice--very clean and modern. They also have incredible, state-of-the-art equipment, which makes life so much easier. I had to get a crown on my tooth and rather than waiting several weeks for the crown to be made, they made it right there in the office using a 3D printer and put it on same day. I would recommend Dr. Berman--she is a knowledgeable, kind, and very efficient dentist. read more

The technician and hygienist were beyond professional. I had one of the most painless and bloodless cleanings in my adult life. Dr. Berman was so friendly and took the time to speak with me about any concerns I had about my mouth and general upkeep. I also got a consultation for Invisalign, and they offer an amazing payment plan and have a lot of knowledge to offer on the treatment. After a few false starts with less-than-great dentists in DC I was fortunate to come across Washington Elite Dentistry. WED strives for excellence in all they do. They have the newest technology, are very knowledgeable, genuinely care and the office is beautiful and well-run. Dr Berman practices patient-centered care and is present with each patient, asking questions beyond dental care and is a warm and skilled provider. After a few successful and positive visits with them I am surprised by the negative comments on here. All the staff are exceptionally warm, welcoming and professional. Dr. Mina and Dr. Berman, and every one of their teams are very good at their jobs and take the time to make sure you are comfortable and explain what it is that they are doing or planning to do. I have never had such a wonderful experience at the dentist as I have had at this office! Most notably, Terri, my hygienist, is absolutely wonderful :) For nearly a decade I've had dentists asking me if I grind my teeth, and I always told them no. It wasn't until Terri took the time to show me pictures of my teeth and explain why she was asking this question that I realized what behavior to look out for and I was able to catch and fix something detrimental to my dental health! I just went in for my cleaning yesterday. After a quick check in I sat in the waiting area for about one minute before my hygienist called me back. She took great care cleaning my teeth and answered all my questions. She polished my teeth and sent me off with my next appointment in 6months and my new toothbrush. I had my first appointment (routine cleaning) with WED this week, and everything went very smoothly. Fernando did a great job taking x-rays (very high-tech system), Terry was excellent -- she explained everything and did a great cleaning.
