4 stars only because its take out only. There is absolutely no where to sit inside. There is a picnic table outside, which is where we ate. We were pleasantly welcomed. We ordered and waited. And the pizza is amazing! The chicken Chipotle was really good. It could've had a little less Chipotle on top. But other than that, absolutely no complaints! read more

Despite New Haven style pizza being the style I generally prefer Amato's makes it better than most. The sauce is not too sweet and the crust was crunchy all while maintaining its soft pizza dough bite inside. The wait time wasn't bad and I would recommend trying their pizza at least one if you're in the area. read more

Based on a recent Barstool Review, I had to try Amato's. The place is busy on weekends and they often sell out early. Best to call a day in advance with an order. Mine was ready right on time, but if you have to wait, there's just 2 chairs in the lobby. The young woman behind the counter was friendly and efficient. My total time from walking into the building to walking out with a hot pizza was about 2 minutes. I was overcharged for toppings, but didn't know that until I got home. Overall, the pizza was well done with a tasty crust and nice texture. There was some blackened char, but I wouldn't call it burnt. Amato's right next to a golf driving range, and if they sold slices, I'd stop in for one after hitting a bucket of balls. It's not the best pizza I've ever had, but pretty darn close. I was between 4 and 5 stars, but service tipped the scales for me. read more

Best New Haven style apizza on the Shoreline. Perfectly cooked thin crust with just the right bubbling and char. We had a sausage/onion and pepperoni/mushroom and there was no skimping on the amount of toppings (the pepperoni was nicely cupped). What really set the pies apart from the others was the sauce. Nice blend of mild sweetness and overall flavor. We'll never go anywhere else locally for Apizza. read more

Tried this place for the first time last night. Was hoping for better. I wanted to order from this place last week, and couldn't get through via phone call. I was on hold for about a half hour before hanging up. I called earlier in the day yesterday, but even then I was still on hold for a while before finally getting through to someone. The pizza itself was alright, though smaller than counterparts and more expensive. Paid about $27 for a pizza a fraction of the size as other restaurants in the area. The pizza itself was alright; the bread was chewy, making it somewhat unpleasant to consume. The topping were good, really loaded up the sausage and olives. Barely any cheese and the sauce was very bitter. Didn't entirely enjoy my eating. Will most likely not return to this place, but I'm glad I tried it out to compare with the other pizza places in the area. read more

We stopped here after a hike and outlet shopping. The subs are excellent. We got the chicken cutlet and the chipotle chicken cutlet but he did substitute grilled chicken for the chipotle on request. INCREDIBLE. I have never had a bad experience here. I might be biased because I know the owner but I'd travel the 45 minutes it takes me to go here vs 15 minutes to new haven, any day. The service alone is worth it. Amato & Jordan are some of the friendliest people you could meet in the food industry. Pizza is great. Location out of the way off of Durham rd. Husband and wife run. Issue is the business is so good, they can't handle the volume and wait times are long. This forces you to place orders on the ChowNow website. This is on their site: *Due to our limited space, dough capacity, staff and ovens we generally sell out of pizzas every Friday and Saturday night! We highly recommend pre ordering online (like you would reserve your table for a 6:00pm seating at a restaurant) to secure your pick up time and avoid the flooded phone lines! We only have so many openings for each time slot and they go fast! Wait times can easily exceed 90 minutes during this time. *​Once you have placed your order, check your email to receive a confirmed pick up time window. (Menu items put in comments will be disregarded) Thank you! My initial order didn't indicate the order time. And if you pick a time for your order because that option is available. It should be available and not adjusted afterwards. I've also ordered where my order was up to 1/2 hr later than confirmed time. ​ The chownow site is clunky to use. And it didn't hold my order for a 5:30 pickup and ordered asap. So $60 for 3 pies down the drain. I don't need complications and stress ordering weekend pizza. I have other options to go elsewhere. BEST OF THE BEST! Hands down the most delicious PIZZA on the shoreline if not EVER! Found this little spot when my husband and I first moved to the area in 2020, and we haven't been able to stop enjoying their delicious pizza ever since. It's our go to every time people visit! Our favorites are their Napolitano and regular cheese w meatballs and black olives (well done)! We've also had the salads, mozzarella sticks, the cannolis, cheesecake, veggie pizza, everything is incredible! They recently started selling their sauce and I'll tell you this, I'll never by store bought ever again! Amato's sauce is unbelievable! We love Amato and Jordyn as well. I have been ordering regularly from Amato's since the store opened. That's a lot of dinners, and the food is always exceptional. Not just good, but much, much better than the average pizza parlour fare. This family has obviously been in the business for a long time. It shows in the consistantly good quality and taste of the products they offer. The Sunday meatball special has become my favorite pie. The meatballs, ricotta, and fresh basil are an awesome combination. The white tomato pie is another must try. The pasta dishes are also excellent. Give this place a try, you will enjoy it! read more

Pizza and service is the best in town! Our go-to for when we want a take out option. They also host a fine variety of Foxon Sodas, my favorite being the birch beer. It is so choice, if you have the means I strongly recommend it. It's right next door to a driving range. My family loves to order a pizza, slam some balls, and then head home before hitting up the garden shop across the street. In the summer months, we probably do this 3-4 times a week! Wow! This is my favorite kind of place. Small take out joint that prides itself on perfection. We went simple in the ordering. House salad with the best house made vinaigrette I've ever had. Buffalo wings fried perfectly crisp without drying out the inside and tossed in the perfect amount of hot sauce. And last but not least, a large mozzarella pizza. It's all about the trifecta when it comes to me and pizza. Dough, sauce and cheese, and they delivered on all 3. The sweet sauce, creamy cheese, and crisp on the outside but chewy on the inside dough were enough for me to say this was one of the best pizzas I've ever had.
