First visit to Bellini's. Not sure why I haven't been here since I only live 5 mins from the restaurant. We made a reservation for 8:15 and arrived a little early but they have a table ready for us. The restaurant is decorated nicely with a very nice bar right when you walk into the entrance. Our waiter recommended several items off the menu. We decided to start with the meatballs and the grillled watermelon as appetizers. The meatballs were great, I like the sauce and the burrata on top. The grilled watermelon was a unique blend of flavors but they melded very well together. It was yellow watermelon that had been grilled with arugula, feta and hot honey. For the main course we got the chicken alla vodka and the chicken pamigana. Both dishes were fantastic with homemade pasta, the chicken was cooked perfectly and the sauce for both dishes was flavorful. For dessert we went with the chocolate torte. I enjoyed the dessert but the other folks at the table were not fans of the basil lemon gelato. Overall we really enjoyed our dinner and we will be back. read more

Many years dining at Bellini's . Last night the lamb chops dish lacked presentation, had to return to recook and was cold.

Came here for the 1st time for lunch with a friend and the service was absolutely amazing! Cute and quaint spot for a date night or for a group. Our waiter Tyler was great. He gave us some great recommendations and we got the pastel formaggio and that was delicious! The fried top and the cream cheese type of dip on the inside that sits on a spicy marinara was very tasty. I got the chicken bow tie pasta for my entree. It had a lemon-y taste but the artichokes and sun dried tomatoes were good. Honorable mention to the waiter Lateef. He was great as well. First time coming here after Church and it was AMAZING! I did not have a reservation and the hostess was able to seat us in a high top before the dinner crowd came in. My boyfriend and I started out with 2 bourbon cocktails and the half charcuterie board! This board was FULL! I was surprised by the 3 cheese and 3 meat options along with bread and sides! I got the Mediterranean chicken and it was soooo fresh! You could taste the fresh squeezed lemon and the chicken was crispy and cooked perfectly! My boyfriend got the ravioli with steak and it was the best ravioli I've ever had! You could tell they were made fresh! The red sauce was simple and perfect! Great portions! We walked in on a Saturday night and they didn't have any tables until 8:30pm, no worries the bar was open and we sure enjoyed our time! They were spot on on the service! We gave this spot a try for our anniversary and I really enjoyed it. It was a great romantic option for a lunch date and I was surprised on the inside compared to the outside. We had great customer service for our server and got some wonderful suggestions. I started with the peach Bellini which set the course. Overall, Bellini's is my favorite restaurant in Birmingham. The atmosphere is quaint yet lively, and the food is absolutely amazing. The quality of the food, along with the friendly and attentive staff, is top-notch. Some of my favorite dishes are lasagna (to die for), meatballs, Caesar salad, wedge salad, and beef tips. Also, the bread pudding is the best I've ever had, and don't get me started on the adult beverages -- always the right balance of flavors to make the perfect happy ending. My family and I usually dine at Bellini's at least twice a month. The atmosphere is classy but most of the staff were cold. We liked the curtains that gave a cozy feel but couldn't dampen the louder customers or staff. Oysters Rockefeller were very different from last time here, gooey cheese balls with nothing tasting of oysters and that was our main reason for dining here, sad. If single, sit at the large elegant bar for company. So the ambiance is lovely, the service has always been impeccable, but the food is most important and still fabulous! Steak Tips at $18 with a side is your best bargain, lunch menu. It included my choice of sweet potato fries-delish and the steak this time was perfect-I emphasized I wanted pink not red or brown for my beef. Waiters often suggest medium and it comes all brown, so I said, Medium Rare but no blood, only pink. The tips equal more than a filet, were tender and tasty. My friend agreed. Service from Mr James Rose was friendly, helpful, and timely. Earned over 20% tip!!! If you want to try it out, the lunch here is still elegant and a bargain, so don't wait! We called in our selections and were helped by a friendly and efficient worker. We picked up our order and it was ready at the time promised over the phone. The food (bow tie pasta, chicken parm) was tasty and satisfying. The servings were large and we couldn't finish it all. Yummy leftovers. Have eaten here many times in the past but it had been a while. Stopped in while on that side of town. They were gracious enough to see us without a reservation. Wife's chicken piccata was great. The service was fantastic. The $50 prime ribeye was not prime. It was about a quarter inch thick full of fat and gristle. Again, wish that I could give 4.5 stars. Definitely much better than average yet not quite a five star, which to me means it is near perfect! Extensive cocktail menu and the bartenders were tentative, knowledgable and helpful. It was obvious that there were regulars. I sat and got the 1/2 charcuterie board. Let me say. I have NEVER seen such a varied and abundant display of culinary fromage, cornichons, artisanal meats and accoutrements. For $15? I had to ask the staff several times "Are you sure that this is not the full and only the half?" I could not finish it, since I ordered the seafood ravioli in the cream sauce and did not want to ruin my appetite. The bartender was so sweet and offered to not only box up the charcuterie e fromage, including the preserves and mostarda, and placed in the bar fridge for me! The seafood ravioli was also plentiful and tasty. My ONLY negative is that the sauce started to separate upon arrival (again...the distinguishing feature between "perfect" and 4 stars). Sauce was still delish enough that I had to stop myself from licking the plate. All in all I will definitely be back when I am in the area. Upon entering, it is dim and has a romantic ambiance. Our server was amazing. The service he provided was excellent. We had the pasta salad as an appetizer. It is misleading when you see it because you expect it to be warm but it is lukewarm/cool but is so delicious. We also had the meatballs and they are amazing!! You must try both of those menu items. We should have tried one of the specials but decided to have the chicken piccata. I do not recommend their version. It tasted nothing like piccata and was overloaded with onions. We finished with cream brûlée and white chocolate bread pudding which is a must! Overall this was a wonderful dining experience. This is our go-to restaurant in the Oak Mountain area. Food ambience and service never disappoints. This weekend my wife and I hosted my mom, dad and his brothers & wives for dad's 87th birthday. A sometimes difficult group had a wonderful time, thanks to Lateef, our extremely personable and professional server. My friend had the scallops with potatoes and like a vegetable medley. it was his first time getting it. He usually gets the ravioli, but he decided to get some. We walked in and there was no one to greet us. The hostess finally showed up, didn't ask who was there first and showed a couple who came in after us to a table promptly. She then reappeared, said the wait would be 45 minutes and she didn't notice we were waiting there first and just gave them the only available table. Ambiance seemed nice but we left with no resolution - only an offer of a high top in the bar for a party of four including a senior citizen and small child neither of whom could get on the stools. They seemed fairly indifferent to the diner experience and unorganized. Neither party in question had reservations. The rude couple who pushed past us and took the last four top possibly had a nice dinner. Don't mind waiting in line but I mind being ignored and skipped in line.
