It was good as usual. There was a lunch special I didn't realize they had those so yay me. It was a 1/2 portion and I had some kind of garlic lemon linguine dish and I added shrimp which was pretty good and my first time trying it. I had the Caesar salad as well and forgot to say no parmesano so needless to say I spent the first few minutes picking most of it out. I like their dressing too, some Cesar dressings are not it. It was not too fishy so a winner. It also came with a drink and of course that awesome warm bread we all love. It was a perfect lunch. Carrabba's is one of my go-to places when I'm out by USF. Their food is consistently good, the sourdough bread is amazing (I eat way too much of that!), and the $10 take home meal deal is great. The servers are friendly and I want to send a shout-out to Adam, who is almost always our server. Hubby and I went there this week for lunch and I was surprised to see that they have eliminated the Minestrone soup! That soup was delicious and the only soup on the menu that we could have since it was vegetarian. They've replaced it with tomato soup - meh. The Minestrone had plenty of veggies and beans and was a hearty, as well as heart healthy and protein laden, choice. I'm very disappointed with this substitution. I ordered the Branzino with fettuccini Alfredo. The fish was so good, as was the pasta. This is a newish addition to the menu and it's a good one. read more

Wow, who knew Carrabba had so many vegetarian options I was pleasantly pleased !!! I don't normally frequent chain restaurants but we were out of town and out of options and I am so happy that we decided to go to Carrabba's. Everything was good until the people next to us walked in with a dog that was shaking and wagging, and all I could think about was what flew into my food. (dogs do not belong inside of restaurants, everyone is not fond of your pet). I ordered the vegetable ravioli, and it was divine, the sauce was really good, but of course I instantly had to pack my food to go. my date ordered something that he absolutely loved ( I have no clue what the name of it is, but it had a lot of different seafood) we ordered the strawberry lemonade, which was a bit tart, but good. The restaurant seen very clean, with low lights and could've been sort of a romantic little outing until someone decided to bring their animal. Every location of Carrabba's differs, of course. At this location, the food quality is comparable to the Carrollwood and Land-O-Lakes locations. The service is pleasant, but it usually feels rushed here. Maybe it was a timing issue with the kitchen, but my entree came out before my appetizer, plus no bread came to the table during my last visit. I didn't need the bread or I would have asked for it. At least the $10 take home makes the visit well worth coming. read more

We've had a horrible experience at this location. Nothing and I mean nothing was right from the min we sat down till we left. We sat at the bar and service was very slow, of no fault of the bartender. The place was packed and he was alone behind the bar. When we finally ordered, we had no plates, no silverware, no bread. We had to hunt down the hostess to get some service. My husband ordered the short ribs, they came out ICE COLD. I ordered the filet which was not as advertised. The menu said it was a barrel cut and I got a flat cut. They forgot my Marsala sauce and then it came out cold as well. And the broccoli was mushy and just disgusting. Over all, it was a horrible experience which we will not repeat and I hope you all learn from it. Absolutely no management, customer service, or even food quality! read more

When I dined there last Sat I ordered the lasagna. I did not want to make a fuss by complaining and upsetting my friends, so I ate it. It was terrible! I found a $25 gift card from 2012 that was (surprisingly) still active, so it was a pleasant surprise and easy dinner. I was impressed with the lower calorie options, with some even being under 500. I got the Chicken marsala and although I like it breaded and fried, I was not upset about the nonfried version they have to save some calories. My bf got the Tuscan chicken. Both our meats were incredibly tender and cooked well with a nice char to it. The broccoli could have used some less time cooking. The appetizer platter came with cheese sticks, calamari, and pork stuffed mushrooms. The cheese sticks are super yummy, especially when it's topped with marinara sauce. I liked the mushrooms next, and the calamari was just ok but not bad to crunch on. This has probably been my 2nd time ever going to a Carrabbas and I enjoyed it. I had a craving for lasagna. I'm too lazy to make it myself. I also don't have the time to cook it. I drive by this location on my way to and from work, and I always say to myself I have to go one day. Finally I decided to do it. I parked in the wrong lot and walked in. I didn't see the side entrance so I went in the front entrance where you wait to be seated. No one was there so I waited to someone came. Maybe 3 minutes later one of the waiters came and asked if I needed help. I ask for a take out menu. I look and I ask for a lasagna to go. He was polite and directed me to the side entrance. I didn't have to go outside to wait for my food. But I wanted to confirm my plane ticket so I walked to my car and pulled into a curbside parking spot. It took about 10 minutes for my food to come out. Inside was very clean. It wasn't busy yet but it was also before dinner rush. I will definitely be going again. Price was reasonable. read more

12/5/24 - Have been to this location several times but don't remember having Elissa P as our server. I know I'd remember as she was wonderful, Santa hat and all. She was friendly, appeared very happy and appropriately engaged with us. I liked the look of the chicken bruschetta sandwich but asked if was possible to heat it. She enthusiastically said she could have warm chicken added and did just that. My guest told her we hadn't seen each other in a while and the timing of everything was perfect. We weren't rushed and the food was so well prepared, I had to ask for a box to take it home. I ordered to go food, but car side pick up spaces were filled so I just parked in a regular space and went inside myself. The food was ready on time when I arrived. I usually love Carrabbas, in particular because of their fried calamari. On this occasion, my entre was not good but the other items were satisfying. Entree: I tried the pasta that had vodka sauce, shrimp, & scallops. The scallops did not taste fresh or cooked well which really spoiled the taste of the shrimp and pasta overall. It was also severely under sauced and I'm not a person who likes a lot of sauce so this was dry for me to notice. Soup: The entree came with the choice of soup or salad. The sausage and legume soup was amazing that I wish I had just ordered a full serving of this instead of the pasta. It is a little spicy and it's hearty without feeling heavy. I will definitely make this my soup of choice next time I'm sick. Dessert: The cannoli cake is made for two people to share but it was still a challenge to finish. It is a tall piece of cake that also comes with a mini cannoli. It is creamy and at a perfect level of sweetness just like a cannoli. The chocolate chips are endless. I really don't go to chain restaurants too much unless I know what I'm getting. However, today I decided that Carabba's special pork chops marsala was too good to pass up -- so I stopped in. Frankly I was glad that I did. I sat at the bar and was warmly greeted by the bartender, who quickly brought me a menu and the water I asked for. My order was taken quickly, and my food came out pretty fast -- within 20 minutes. That's great for a Saturday night. The bread was very good -- the olive oil with herbs was rather tasty as well. I also enjoyed the minestrone soup, however, it could've been a bit more hot. The pork chops were cooked as requested and were indeed stuffed with fontina cheese and prosciutto. However, there wasn't much of that delicious stuffing. The marsala demi-glace was delicious, rich savory but just a bit saltier than I personally enjoy. However, I am a sucker for a good rich brown gravy, and this version certainly satisfied my craving! The mushroom topping was adequate but clearly came out of a prepackaged can or jar....The mashed potatoes were rich and creamy, but nothing amazing and the broccoli was just fine. As for cleanliness the bar was very clean, and the bartenders paid full attention to detail, which is nice to see in a chain restaurant. I'll be back, this place definitely has it together. My family and I went to this location for a pre-valentine lunch. Our server was nice. Our girls enjoyed their mac-n-cheese. Unfortunately my partner had hair in his food and they had to remake it. I wasn't able to finish my entrée at the restaurant so I decided to have it tonight on Valentine's Day. I am thankful that I happen to take a look at my food before diving in to eat. There is a worm like thing on the broccoli. At first I thought it was pepper, but I thought to myself it was an oddly long piece if it was pepper so I examined the broccoli further. It was definitely not pepper. I don't know exactly what it is, but it looks like some type of worm. I am disgusted because me and my daughters had a couple of bites of this broccoli yesterday. Carrabba's never disappoints! Coming to this location always holds a special place in my heart. When I attended school at USF, my parents would always take me to Carrabba's when they visited me. Now, I come to dinner here with my husband and three kids. Pro Tip: Bring your patience if you're dining on a Friday night. Wait times can be a little long, but what do you really expect from a popular restaurant? Whenever I dine at Carrabba's it's always an inner struggle between sticking to my usual meal or veering off and trying a new menu item? In case you're wondering, my usual is the Chicken Marsala. I decided I wanted pasta so I skipped the chicken this time. I was a little worried about missing out on the delicious soup if I ordered the pasta but I was pleasantly surprised to learn that you still get a choice of soup or salad. Per usual the soup and entree (rigatoni pasta with sausage) did not disappoint. Carrabba's is the perfect restaurant for family time. The thing about Carrabba's is that it's a fail safe pick for us. It doesn't matter what state we are in, we know what kind of food and service we will get from this restaurant. And that's the sign of a good business model that is being executed well across the board. Alyssa was our server here, and she was awesome. She was quick and witty, the food came fast, and when my drink fell flat - she was quick to rectify the issue for me. It was late, and our boys were tired after a long day at the parks. She didn't know the USF area so I started rattling off restaurants and when I mentioned Carrabba's - she said she had never been. So I immediately said we are going there! Eric, our server, at the at this Fowler location, definitely deserves a shout out for his avid attention and amazing customer service. He brought over our waters and bread/ seasoned olive oil almost instantaneously. Then we put in our app order for the zucchini frittes. My soup and my friends Caesar salad came out just as fast as the waters! The zucchini frittes followed the starters. My chicken Marsala was as delicious as it normally is. But be warned does hard chicken Marsala fans- this rendition is made alot different that it's traditionally prepared. It has always worked for my taste buds, I just wouldn't ever classify it as Marsala. My friend loved her eggplant parm and truffle fries!
