Our favorite waiters that always make you feel "at home" are Salvador and Emily. It is a wonderful fun family environment. The food is always spot on. I have never had a bad dish. Our favorites are sausage and peppers, tagliarini picchi pasta, Carrabba's house salad with the famous creamy Parmesan dressing,........ etc etc. You will not be disappointed! read more

We were here with a big group of 20 Got seated on time with no problem since we have reservation. The restaurant is packed with customers and they do have a large patio outside too. Food wasn't that good and it was surely overpriced for all the plates. We had pretty much variety of dishes. Most of our group didn't like the food too much. Some had salads the Johnny Rocco and they claimed it was too salty. We also have the Parmesan chicken which was Nah. The worse dish was the Rambo which was supposed to be the monthly special. Surely didn't have the jumbo crab meats as in the menu description. It was tasteless. The pasta taste like it just got out from boil water with no seasoning but it was supposed to cook with white wine and butter but we can't taste any of those ingredients. We had to ask the server to take it back. Not sure if they even deduct that from the bill or not since I didn't pay. Overall experience was quite disappointed. We had amazing time at this restaurant. We waited 45 min.for a table but the food was worth it. It was a bit chilly but the enclosed patio was heated quite nicely. They were super busy but the Hostess handled it very professionally. She had a large amount of people to deal with but never got flustered. A Houston classic. Nothing like it. We've been coming here for years and it's been the same amazing quality. The pasta is fresh, you can just tell. The service is always good, friendly staff, accommodating and kind. The ambiance is slightly upscale but a modern cozy feel. They have outdoor seated covered, usually in the winter they have heaters and in the summer they have fans. Plenty of parking. Full bar service and seating at the bar. The bread is crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside, great taste. The house salad is the best I've had, I get it almost every time. My husband says the pasta he gets (cappelletti) is super rare, we have maybe only found it at one or two other restaurants in Houston and he loves the one here. Highly recommend. Another great meal in Houston! We met our long time friends in this restaurant because it's our favorite for good Italian fare. Carrabba's is one of two original places owned by the family. The other one is on Kirby I believe. We order the Picchi Pacchiu and the quality never changes. It's always delicious! Our server was a true professional. He kind of caught on that old friends were having dinner together so he just left us alone for a bit. He was very attentive and efficient so we gave him a big tip! As for the ambiance, we have been coming to eat at this location for close to 30 years. We've been through a couple of renovations. It's a great place to eat and meet friends. The location is in the ritzy part of town so it's always packed with diners, even on a Tuesday night. Love, love this place! read more

The most overrated overpriced and some of the worst service I have ever experienced. The waitress was surly. She let my tea go empty. The food was non descript (had the Chicken Bryan). I was curious as it is "the original " Carraba's. Well it cost me $45 for entree and drink and tip. Hopefully it will save someone else's wallet and grief. I just love the OG Carrabba's! When Johnny and family sold the business, they kept two restaurants. The one on Voss and the other on Kirby. There's a reason. The family feel of both restaurants is remarkable, especially for those who have been dining there for years. They will literally bend over backwards to give you what you want. Off the Menu is a specialty at these two restaurants. Besides the off menu items, I once heard about a wedding rehearsal dinner held at Voss. The A/V was not working. So the manager, extended the cocktail hour, showed up 30 minutes later with a TV so the family could Airplay their photos. Who does that? Food is always excellent. Service - fantastic! If you're at Voss and get Chris you are in good hands. Lately, we've ordered in but a last minute drop in brought us here this week. He put us onto the Tag Pic Pac. Such a clean, classic pasta. A big party of parents (10 of us) had dinner here last Saturday night. Pretty casual, old-school vibe to the restaurant. The service was good. The wine list is pretty limited. This was my first time at this restaurant. I will say they were very, very busy (local high school Homecoming dances so the restaurant was packed). I don't know if this affected the kitchen, so maybe the food was a bit off from normal (I don't have another experience to compare to). I had: Minestrone (3.5/5) - Very standard, nothing stood out. Linguine Pescatore (2.5/5) - The sauce and seafood were pretty good. However, the pasta was severely overcooked (to the point the pasta was almost mushy). The linguine was also very thin which exacerbated the over-cooking of it. Hopefully this was an off-night. Given how many high school kids were in the restaurant, I'm thinking maybe they should have shut it down for the public if this affected the kitchen. read more

I grew up in the East End near Hobby Airport in a neighborhood called Glenbrook Valley. There wasn't any glen, brook, or valley. It was just your classic. 50's mid century modern home neighborhood. As a kid, I played with the other kids in the Carrabba family. Carrabas, D'Amicos, Mandolas, Maidas....Italian families in the East End. Long time ago. Doubt if they remember me. But I do remember walking into houses that had this amazing aroma of garlic and onions and all the things that never showed up in my mom's German Texan cooking repertoire. I sometimes chuckle to myself, wishing that I had maintain the friendships of my youth because I would probably be pretty high up in their restaurant organizations by this time. Anyway, there were these two years running that an engineering buddy and I would meet regularly on Fridays during Houston restaurant weeks to try the different Houston restaurant week restaurant menus. But after a couple of weeks, we just looked at each other and said, "This is not fun. Let's just go to Voss Carrabba's where we know everything will be perfect." This location and the one on Kirby are where it is at. The original recipes, overseen still by family members. Highly recommended. One of the ten places that I take visitors to Houston. read more

The only Carrabba's that I've gone to previously is the location on Kirby, which is solid. I went to this Carrabba's (also an OG location) on a weekday lunch with some old friends. Parking is available anywhere outside as there is plenty of space in the shopping plaza. Interior is traditional and definitely a mix of a family style and corporate feeling during lunch hour. Their bread with olive oil is a good start. The bread is fresh and has good texture and the olive oil tastes extra virgin enough for dipping. We got the crab/ shrimp cooked mixture served with garlic bread, which was extremely rich and delicious, if not slightly too rich and slightly salty. We also got the fried calamari and shrimp, which was good but slightly underseasoned for me. Service is top notch here and definitely shows why this is one of the two top locations. The staff come by often to refill water and swap plates and the food comes out from the kitchen pretty quickly. I got the veal scallopine (marsala) for my main, which came with a chicken noodle soup. The side of the pasta was a bit overcooked and stagnant but their pasta sauce is good. The veal was also solid and their marsala sauce is well seasoned. Overall, being someone who doesn't really like Italian food, Carrabba's is something I actually enjoy once in a while and this is one of the better spots in Houston that has been around for a while, rightfully so. read more

Every time I come here they really do treat us like family, truly; unlike some chains claim. Doors opened for you, hostesses address you warmly, like you're coming over to visit a friend. Rosie, the namesake is upfront greeting you or goodbying you as you go past; wonderful personal touches all around. Interior is take on the Tuscan vibe but the seating is comfortably spread apart to allow you to have a good Italian dining experience. The food is great and has been for a while now, this and the one on Kirby are a bit of a Houston institution. The food isn't authentic Italian, but it's certainly classic Houston-Italian. Plenty of pastas and proteins for you to pick from. The pastas themselves are clearly fresh made and there's a good mix of seafoods available as well. Bread for the table is super crusty on the outside and delicately soft in the middle. Great for dipping. House salad is a perfect creamy garlic trip. Really can't go wrong with much on the menu.
