They handled the full transformation: Texas native plants, fresh sod, irrigation, lighting, a new patio with poured concrete pavers, a pergola, and decking built around our above-ground pool. The result feels intentional, cohesive, and well suited to both the climate and how we use the space. We worked with their designers to develop the plan, and that process was smooth and collaborative. They listened, had good instincts, and were happy to iterate with us until the design felt right. From first contact to breaking ground took about three months, which felt reasonable given the scope. Once construction started, everything moved fast--the entire project was completed around two to three weeks. Most importantly, we're extremely happy with the outcome. The yard is beautiful and dramatically more usable than before. Jason and Nikk were a pleasure to work with throughout: friendly, proactive, communicative, with good taste and a strong sense for design. I'd happily recommend them to anyone looking to upgrade their outdoor space.

While all the companies, including Southern Landscaping and Design, were nice and responsive, I feel the need to share our experience regarding their pricing. The quotes we received from the first three companies ranged between $9,000 and $11,000, which seemed reasonable for the scope of work. However, Southern Landscaping and Design came back with a quote of just over $28,000--nearly three times the amount of the other bids. I'm sure they do great work, but this level of pricing feels excessive and difficult to justify. I wanted to share this as a heads-up for anyone considering them. It's always worth getting multiple quotes to ensure you're paying a fair price.

From the first meeting, he was professional and took the project seriously. He started with a drone photo overhead and created a design with our architect's plan. Travis worked with us to design a drought-tolerant landscape with a combination of astroturf and xeriscape, as well as limestone paver walkways with black granite and black steel edging to go with the aesthetics of our modern ranch. Our third party inspector noted that many landscape companies do not weld the steel edging to the stakes, but Travis's crew welded all of the connections and the steel seems thicker than what we had at our previous home. We chose Thrive because of other Google reviews combined with our interactions with Travis during the quote and design process. We found the same to be true as other reviewers, which was his crew was very positive, helpful, energetic, and some of the hardest workers on our project. They were the first to arrive in the morning, worked hard and fast all day, and stayed often until dark. We truly appreciated the hustle, and the quality and beauty of the finished product and would not hesitate recommending Thrive to anyone in need of landscape services.

He also planted some bushes in the rock area and made some minor irrigation adjustments. It all turned out great although his initial bid was not sufficient to cover all the grass area we had agreed on, so we had to negotiate some additional cost. He was reasonable. The nature of our Project involved a number of different details including patio deck design, metal work (for our steel railing), landscape modifications including modifying our existing gutter downspout and modifying our ground cover rocks, metal boarder. It was a challenge to find a one stop shop, but Roberto's team stepped up to that challenge and did a great job. The scope of the Project: 1) increase our patio deck stairs' landing area by 35% making it safer for those exiting and entering our rear patio. 2) demolition of the existing cedar deck materials to be replaced by Trex composite requiring little to no maintenance moving forward 3) frame out the new patio landing and stairs, adding 2 additional stairs to make the overall patio stairs solution safer 4) remove and redirect our gutter downspout so that it was not in the way of the newly installed patio stairs 5) modify the steel railing on the old stairs to accommodate the larger footprint of the new landing and additional stairs They say a picture is worth a 1000 words, so I'll let the following "before" and "after" pictures speak for themselves
