So this was our second time here the first time we were here it was for a holiday event and the other room, so we were excited to try the actual food from the restaurant. We had amazing service from Marie (or Maria) as she was the one who recommended the Tower Hill tini and I'm glad she did because it was an amazing drink. I like the dark colors on the outside and I like how they have large windows at the restaurant so you can still see outside so if it's daytime, you get nice natural light. My husband's meal was the only one that was really hot. The rest of our food a little cold but it was still good, my pizza did get a little hard from it being cold so it was a little harder to chew but honestly, my kids and I all enjoyed the delicious food. We definitely plan on coming back and it was fun to see other people that I know who live in town as well so you know this is a delicious place to eat when you see your friends eating there as well.

Pretty good pizza. Only did a pickup, so I can't say too much about the service, but what little I did experience was good. Seemed a little dark inside. Plenty of parking and what seemed like a nice atmosphere.

Ate here for lunch day before a marathon in Narragansett. It was a great decision and meal was too. Had: Chicken Nachos (good) Chicken brocolli Alfredo (great)

Not Bad, big portions I went here after a long day of travel. Very cool location. Aura was good. Note they do a catering business there as well but had no impact on service etc...so kudos to them for balancing this well. The food was good pub type food with a flair. The service was great. Tip: Beef Poutine Thanks

Surprisingly good! I hadn't been here in years (literally decades!) and though it's changed hands a few times since and undergone some facelifts, I'm happy to state that the food is much improved and better than my past visits. I had their jambalaya which was flavorful and carried a real spicy kick (which was even better the next day as the portion was generous); this dish paired perfectly with a cold IPA draft (Whalers East Coast). My daughters had a pulled pork sandwich and a patty melt, respectively; and my wife had their veggie burger. All were deemed well cooked and tasty, and with nice crispy fries. Service was prompt and friendly; plenty of indoor and outdoor seating.

We felt this was an average, at best, dining experience. The food was old fashioned pub food. We weren't dissapointed with our order but weren't wowed either. This place has been around for a long time and has a fairly consistent local following, so it must hit some folks' wheelhouse. The worst part about this place was that it was freezing cold inside. We wore jackets and were still uncomfortably cold ... most of the other diners were wearing their jackets as well. Though the restaurant boasts '2 fireplaces' on their website, we were told they aren't in use because 'they smoke the place up.' The stone walls made it feel like a cold basement and we couldn't wait to get back to the warmth of our car. Beyond that, everything seemed dusty ... from the hanging light with cobwebs to the wall decor. The light above our table flickered, which got incredibly annoying so I touched the bulb to see if it was loose and a cascade of dust fell onto the table. The bathroom was also filthy. We had a burger and fries. The burger was okay ... kind of bland. The fries were the best part, likely homemade. Though ordered medium well, the burger was bright pinkish-red. Pizza was average bar pizza. The cheese and sauce lacked any taste, other than sweetness. The crust was cracker-style, typical to bar pizza and did not look like the picture on the menu. The best part of the meal was a well curated draft beer list. They have 12 rotating special draft beers ... something for everyone ... and some hard to find ones. The restaurant is laid out kind of oddly and the dark wood and stone pub seems a bit old and grimy ... although with a fire it might have been cozy. The main dining room is cavernous and a bit stark with white walls and booths. We probably won't return but if you like classic old-fashioned pub food and aren't too picky, you probably could do worse than this place. Plenty of parking and the menu hits all the bases for classic American fare. Just don't expect a meal to write home about. It's very similar to The Gristmill Restaurant in Seekonk but I'd give The Gristmill an edge.

The weather was nice, so we chose to sit out back under the lovely umbrellas and look over the water. They also have adirondack chairs set out, so I imagine it would be a lovely spot for a cocktail and a chat with friends! Our server, Lena, was a DREAM and helped us make our choices. I got a seasonal latte while my partner got the medium-roast pourover coffee. Having had a hard time finding really great coffee recently, we were soooo impressed. They clearly take their coffee program seriously (and now I realize the name should have tipped me off!). The food was equally impressive. It legitimately didn't have to be as good as it was (lol). The yogurt bowl on any menu is usually "meh," but we gave it a try since we wanted some non-meat protein and I am SO glad we did. It was the best yogurt bowl I've ever had- no contest. The whole milk yogurt was creamy; the strawberries, raspberries, and blueberries were ripe; the honey and granola added crunch and some floral sweetness; and the best part was the raspberry preserves they pipe on top. I wish I could recreate this at home! We also loved the lemon poppyseed loaf with blueberry preserves and cream. Another quick brunch addition that could have been simple, but had so much thought put into the flavors. Overall, a big fan and I'll be back!

The first time I came was on a Sunday, and the restaurant was very quiet with only a few people there. The server who took our order completely forgot to ring in our drinks and food--not once, but twice. We waited around 30 minutes before anything arrived, and when it finally did, the drinks were incorrect. What made the situation worse was that the server never apologized or acknowledged the mistake. That being said, the food itself was excellent and honestly a 10/10. I decided to give the restaurant another chance and came back on a Friday, expecting a better experience. Unfortunately, the service was even worse this time. The servers seemed extremely unorganized and unprofessional. We waited about 10 minutes just to receive menus. When we tried to order two different bottles of wine, we were immediately told they didn't have either one, without much explanation or any attempt to offer alternatives. The atmosphere is supposed to be calm and relaxing, but one of the servers was extremely loud, which took away from the overall experience. I also noticed a child behind the bar, who was later driving a scooter around the back parking lot. Whether or not this is typical, it definitely added to the feeling that the restaurant lacked organization and professionalism. To be fair, the food was once again very good, and I have absolutely no complaints about the quality of the food. The biggest issue is the customer service and overall management of the dining experience. There is clearly a lot of potential here, but the service needs significant improvement. It's especially disappointing because I originally heard about this place through an employee who works across the street at their other location. She was incredibly sweet, professional, and had a great personality, which gave me high expectations coming here. Unfortunately, the experience at this location did not come close to matching that level of hospitality. I really hope they take this feedback seriously because the food is genuinely amazing. With better organization, communication, and customer service, this could be a much better dining experience.

When making our reservation, we noticed there was an option to mark that we were celebrating an anniversary, and I have to say, they truly acknowledged it in such a thoughtful way. When we arrived, we were greeted by a friendly hostess who immediately wished us a happy anniversary. We were then escorted upstairs to our table, where we were treated to a beautiful view overlooking the harbor. The restaurant itself is elegant without feeling stuffy, making it the perfect setting for a special occasion. Our server, Cailin, greeted us promptly, wished us a happy anniversary, and offered us a complimentary champagne toast. While neither of us are big champagne drinkers, it was such a thoughtful gesture that immediately made the evening feel even more special. It's little touches like that that turn a nice dinner into a memorable celebration. Moreover, it was just nice to hear the champagne flutes clink. (Plus the champagne was great!) To drink, we both ordered the dragon fruit margaritas. They were not only delicious but absolutely beautiful, with their vibrant pink color and striking black salt rim. To start, we shared the Caesar salad (without anchovies) and the stuffed artichoke. The Caesar dressing tasted homemade and was packed with flavor. The stuffed artichoke was easily the best I've ever had--perfectly cooked and served with a divine green goddess sauce that I could have eaten by the spoonful. My husband also ordered the clam chowder, which he absolutely loved. I don't eat seafood, but I tried a spoonful of the broth and even I thought it was excellent. For our entrées, my husband ordered the pork, and I chose the New York strip steak. Both were cooked perfectly and full of flavor. I paired my steak with both the horseradish crema and Bowen's steak sauce, while my husband enjoyed the chimichurri with his pork. Every sauce complemented the dishes beautifully. For sides, we ordered the seasonal vegetables, which were perfectly cooked green beans, the four-cheese potatoes au gratin with crumbled bacon, and the truffle mac and cheese. The potatoes were rich and comforting, the green beans provided the perfect balance, and the truffle mac and cheese was absolutely incredible, not to mention a very generous portion. Before our entrées arrived, our table was presented with beautiful steak knives, another thoughtful detail that elevated the experience and made cutting into the steak effortless. By the end of dinner we were completely full, so instead of dessert we each ordered an espresso martini. They were perfectly balanced and the ideal way to end such an incredible meal. From the stunning harbor views and elegant atmosphere to the impeccable service and outstanding food, every part of our evening felt special. We left feeling celebrated, and we're so happy we chose 22 Bowen's for our first wedding anniversary. If you're looking for a restaurant in Newport to celebrate a milestone or simply enjoy an exceptional meal, this is one I wholeheartedly recommend.
