When my sister-in-law went to visit him, she found him lying in a wet bed -- his clothes soaked, the sheets soaked, and his catheter had come out. And the worst part? The staff just left him like that. No urgency. No compassion. It took them almost 30 minutes to finally come in and help him. I can't even bring myself to imagine what happens to him at night when no family is there to witness it. Any time he moves or even makes a facial expression, the nurses try to sedate him. The thought of him being drugged simply for reacting or expressing discomfort makes me sick to my stomach. This isn't healthcare -- it feels like neglect, plain and simple. When my sister-in-law tried to speak up and tell the hospital's social worker that she feared for her son's safety, she was met with rudeness, interruptions, and complete denial of what was happening. How can someone with that attitude work in a place where vulnerable people are supposed to be cared for? It is so discouraging and infuriating. All we want is for my nephew to be safe, respected, and treated like a human being. Instead, we're praying every day that my sister-in-law and brother can get him out of there as soon as possible. It genuinely feels like he's not being helped at all -- just kept there for the insurance money. Seeing that this place has a 2.5-star rating doesn't surprise me anymore. If you or your loved one are ever referred here, please do everything you can to find another facility. No family should ever have to go through this. California healthcare has changed so much since COVID, and sadly, this place is a painful reminder of how far it has fallen.

Krista is the manager and top notch therapist. She helped me last TKR and I was there it felt like half my life with a stubborn knee. I was there 60 sessions with my first replacement this replacement I was there 12 amazing. My therapist was Shelly and she did a good job but she was not there a few times I was and I had the Therapist Assistant Alexia. She was so patient and sweet and very helpful. I also LOVE Amy! She has been there since my last surgery and she makes me laugh, and she is extremely motivating which is very important in recovery. She will lighten your day and make you push a little harder to get to that point you need to be at. Amy thanks for everything you did, have done and you are also top notch in your field. Ruaa is incredibly sweet, patient, and intuitive. Our son takes a long time to warm up to people, but she never rushed him or pushed past his comfort level. Because of that, he has built a beautiful connection with her. He now grabs her hand to help him open cabinets, and feels safe enough to make strong eye contact with her while she's working with him on identifying toys and engaging in play. Those moments may seem small to some, but for us they are huge milestones and they speak volumes about Ruaa's ability to truly connect with children where they are. She meets our son with so much compassion and respect, and it shows in the progress he's making. Things started off well but very soon after starting it was clear they were not accommodating his needs. Instead of trying to work with him and understand him, they only wanted to push him into their rigid program and after making him anxious and upset blamed him when he had a problem. They would not communicate with me, for if they had I could have shed light on how to deal with him and what he needed. They did not care at all. He was shuffled from one worker to another and they made little attempts to get to know him. I begged them to allow me to give them input but they would not have it. After ignoring many of his signals that he was in distress, he finally ended up reacting and became physically aggressive. They then threw him out of the program. That was devastating for him. He asked me every day to take him back. I reached back out to them and asked if he could come back. They agreed that if after a couple months he did not have any aggression he would be allowed back. I worked with his mental health professional and he was doing great so after a couple months I reached out and asked if he could come back. They said that it would be possible but that turned out to be a lie. I made many more calls and sent multiple emails but I was ignored over and over again. They turned a blind eye and never responded. I think they are despicable for this and I would never recommend that anyone send their special needs child or adult there. That is my opinion and I believe it is well deserved. I really believe we don't need this type of help in our community and this branch would be much better with different management. That's just my opinion.

If I could put zero stars I would, As his sister, l am extremely disappointed and frustrated with the lack of professionalism my family has experienced with Kids Connection. My brother received services there for approximately eight years, and over the last year we have watched the quality of care and customer service decline significantly. One of the most upsetting incidents occurred when the receptionist called my mother and told her that my brother had been left alone in the lobby by his therapist. My brother has an intellectual disability and cannot safely be left unattended, so naturally my family panicked. When they rushed inside, he was nowhere to be found. They were asking everyone if they had seen him and were moments away from calling the police when his therapist came out from the back with him. The receptionist had given my mother completely incorrect information and caused an unnecessary and terrifying situation. Instead of apologizing or taking accountability for such a serious mistake, she simply walked away. More recently, the same receptionist began handling scheduling. When my mother contacted the office regarding my brother's second therapy session, which had not resumed after his therapist went on leave, the receptionist claimed she had a recording of my mother saying she did not want the second session. My mother denies ever saying this, and the fact that a recording was brought up in this manner only added to our concerns regarding how this office communicates with families. My mother brought these issues directly to the owner, Dr. Cynthia Conway, and was assured that they would be addressed. Instead, our family later received an email from CEO Mayra Solano stating that my brother's referral was being redirected to another agency "due to the concerns" that had been brought to their attention. That response is honestly ridiculous. Rather than investigating the concerns, addressing the behavior of their staff, and improving the way families are treated, it appears the solution was simply to remove my brother from their services. A family should not feel punished for speaking up about legitimate concerns, especially when those concerns involve the safety and care of a person with an intellectual disability. As his sister, I find the entire situation unacceptable. Families trust organizations like this with some of the most vulnerable people in their lives. Professionalism, accountability, compassion, and clear communication should be the bare minimum. After eight years of trusting this agency with my brother, the way this situation was handled was incredibly disappointing and speaks volumes about the decline in their level of professionalism and customer service.
