We had reservations however it being the busiest day for restaurants, we had to chill our heels for a few moments before being taken back. I was more than ok with this as we ended up getting a window seat (see above for reference). Thank heavens they put the name of the server in the receipt cuz y'all know my Swiss cheese brain. Cara was the wonderful server who took care of us. She was always there ready for me to get my mum good & spoiled. Super friendly and very helpful. The buffet, it was impressive for a buffet and while not a big buffet, it was specialized. First up were 3 different kinds of salads, then a fruit platter, and bagels & cream cheese. They had a raw bar with shrimp & oysters next, then breakfast stuff (eggs, potatoes bacon etc) mac & cheese, garlic mashed taters & then a carving station with turkey, ham & lamb. Finally a small but respectful dessert table. If you couldn't find something to fill you, you weren't looking. The single sour note of the buffet was the salmon and Mac & cheese. I downloaded the InKiND app as well and they gave me a $50 off discount if you spend minimum $150. The open table app did have a $20 per person fee for reservations and that will be applied to the final bill. Our reservations were at 4pm and we arrived early and the parking area is ample with a parking garage and some street parking. We started walking to the restaurant at about 355pm. This time of the year seems to slower with ot being cold. Once inside we were greeted by the young ladies up front. We were offered a table or booth and we chose a table. We did sit at a table with the view of the water which was nice. Jason our server came over within seconds to pour us water and take our drink orders. We both wanted sweet tea with lemon. Since we knew ahead of time what we were ordering, we gave our appetizers orderes first. We ordered the soup of the day which was the she crab soup. It is highly recommended. We only ordered a cup and not a bowl because we were unsure of how it tasted. The Caesar salad had no anchovie flavor like we are use to and was just medicore. We ordered the meatballs which had lamb and pork in it. They were juicy, tender and just needed a little more seasoning. The Calamari was fried to perfection for me and could've used a pinch of salt. The sweet tea was everything and I would recommend it. For the main entrees, we chose the shrimp and scallop risotto and the beef braised Ragau. There were two scallops and four grilled shrimp and few asparagus with some chopped up bacon. This dish I highly recommend as well. The beef was tender, seasoned and pasta was cooked perfect. Overall, this is a nice and quiet place to dine at anytime. I would recommend and will definitely return again. Jason was on point with his promptness.

We got some incredible keylime/cherry pie (the crust is unreal and the filling is the perfect mix of tart and sweet. It explained why the restaurant is no longer busy. Went tonight for my birthday and it was a big disappointment. I ordered the special Grilled Rockfish and Shrimp for $30.99. My friend ordered the crab cakes for $39.99. The rockfish and shrimp had so much salty and foul tasting red seasoning that the only taste was the seasoning. Rockfish is delicious and the only seasoning needed for cooking is some butter, lemon, salt and pepper. Why would any cook (I say cook because they do not have a chef) ruin delicious piece of fish like rockfish by completely covering the fish in some seasoning that is meant for crab boil. The only reason restaurants use heavy seasoning are when they want to cover the taste of seafood that is not fresh or they have cooks that do not know how to properly cook rockfish. I could not tell if the rockfish was fresh because the only thing I could taste was the seasoning that was caked on the fish in a thick coating like a dry rub on ribs. I took two bites of the very small 4 oz filet of rockfish and had heartburn and indigestion. The 6 shrimp were small 50/60 count and were rubbery with no flavoring except the seasoning. The rockfish meal was $30.99 and the only thing I can say is the broiled fish dinner at Captain Ds for $10 beats the meal at Surfrider hands down. My friend had the crab cakes which she said were very good. She could not eat the collard greens because she said they were so salty that they were not edible. The cucumbers in vinegar side was also unlike any cucumber salad I have ever tried and I don't mean that in a good way. Good service and ambience but that still does not raise the bar above 1 star. Probably not the worse seafood dinner I have ever had but it definitely is the worse dinner that I had spent $100 on.

I went through the drive-through and ordered a quart of barbecue that was $38 and the menu did not say anything about it being sauced. Got home and found out it already has the most disgustingly sweet sauce on it. One bite is all it took to know that I would not be eating any more of it. . I like a Carolina style sauce, vinegar and peppers or a mustard sauce not pure sugar. Their barbecue is in the absolute sweetest sauce I have ever tasted. I had several people try the barbecue that I bought and each one said that it was nothing special and they would never pay $38 for a quart. I was also hoping that they had smoked turkey because I wanted to order some of that for my mother, but they don't have smoked turkey on the menu. I don't really see a reason for me to go back. I can't really comment on service as I went through the drive-through but when I asked for sauce, they could have told me there was sauce already on the barbecue and then I would've addressed that issue then.
