    Vermicelli with pork
    Trish T.

My husband & I just had a tasty take-out lunch from Pho Diner. We had shrimp summer rolls - 2 tightly rolled rice paper rolls filled each filled with 2 large shrimp, noodles & herbs. The dipping sauce leaned in on the hoisin/plum side - rather than our preferred peanut sauce - but it was still quite good. I ordered chicken pho which was fresh, lots of noodles, chicken, and bean stouts. I wish there was more fresh herbs, but it was good. The beef pho are certainly more flavorful, but I don't really eat red meat anymore. My husband liked his dish - grilled pork vermicelli. The sweet and sour sauce was tasty, and it was a pretty large portion. Service was friendly and prompt. The order was ready in 10 minutes. And though we didn't dine in, my husband said the ambiance was ok - not really date night material, but the colorful decorations were festive in a very casual setting. We'll definitely be back when we return to the area to visit family. It's exciting to have good Vietnamese in Yorktown!

The food here is clearly the best Vietnamese food in the entire Hampton Roads area. It's wonderfully presented and the flavors are authentic. Not only did I order the shrimp, chicken and beef for lunch but I ordered every Bahn Mi on the menu to go! Fantastic family environment, wonderfully attentive staff and it's obvious they care about their customers.

Vietnamese coffee on ice is like liquid heaven... I ventured out and away from the overpopulated city today. Ok, maybe I'm exaggerating just a tad but that's fine. The point is, I drove out to try something new. And since everything is opening back up, everywhere is crowded. And why not? It's a beautiful day since it stopped raining. Thankfully this little restaurant is nice and open. Of course I also eat at weird hours, so maybe that's why there aren't many customers here. It's a very clean, spacious restaurant with good service. Of course I had iced Vietnamese coffee with some spring rolls.

The aromatics are the first thing that you get walking through the door. Second thing is a friendly face to invite you to sit anywhere. The food needs no words but I will share a few. Fresh isn't something you usually associate with pho or really any strip mall restaurant; but this is FRESH. You can taste the quality ingredients and time spent finding the perfect blend of spice and herb. These broths are so full of flavor you don't need sauce! Not pictured is the bahn mi we destroyed, but that speaks for itself.

Reasonable prices for delicious Vietnamese food. The pork Bahn Mi was juicy and well marinated with fresh tasting pickled veggies and soft bread. The ambiance is spacious, modern, but cool with many lanterns hanging from the ceiling (my photo does not do it justice). A hidden gem as it is larger than it looks from the outside. There is also bar seating, outdoor seating, and a sushi bar! Our food came out quickly, our server could have used a note pad.

Change my rating to a one-star. For lunch today I found hair in the wings. Absolutely unacceptable

There aren't many good pho places on the peninsula except for Pho 83. Since they're now closed on Mondays and as I had been wanting to try this new place out I headed here. Good choice! As you enter you are greeted by the host/waiter Jeff. He is also the owner and very good at what he does as well as being great to talk to. I ordered the Pho Tai and added tripe, along with some vietnamese egg rolls. The egg rolls were the best ever and so was the dipping sauce that they came with and although the pho broth didn't have a depth of flavor the delicious meat and bean sprouts made up for it. Also the place was very clean and the fresh roses on the tables were a nice touch. Worth the trip and can't wait to try the wonton noodle soup. I'd drive miles for good wonton noodle soup!

Very good pho! I was impressed. A little pricey but overall good. Next time I would not get it with the fried tofu (not a fan of that)

The bread to filling ratio is severely off, but the flavor of the meat is good. If they had packed these sandwiches with more meat, I would have been happy with it. I'm also used to my Vietnamese sandwiches having pate, but this one didn't. I also didn't have the option to add hot peppers (which is what I think makes a sub most delicious). The bread wasn't crispy on the outside like what you'd expect, which I don't mind because I prefer my viet subs chewy and not cutting the roof of my mouth. Overall, the meat has good flavor, but there just needs to be more to it. It will scratch the itch in a bind.

Not a very flashy building during the day and was hard to see building while driving up street. Pleanty of parking in a gravel/sandy lot with some pot holes filled with rain water. Raven gave us several minutes to look over menu before returning and answering a few questions. I was interested in wings which Raven pointed out were on special this Wednesday at $1 each, minimum of 10. Cheaper than the plate of 8 I was going to order. I went for this with a side of onion rings. My wife ordered the Freedom Philly with cole slaw. The food came out in good time served in red plastic baskets lined with paper. My wife enjoyed her philly and the slaw which is mayonaise based and seasoned well to our liking. The smoked wings came out hot and seasoned with medium wing sauce as requested. The chicken wings are some of the larger ones I have ever been served. My onion rings came out hot, lightly battered and tasting good. At 1:30 in middle of week there were only a few other tables occupied. Raven was the only server and was maintaining service well. She came back and checked on us several times. We waited about 40 min for a table and we all got comfy for what ended up a loooong night. I wish I caught the name of our server but it was very loud, louder than usual. She was very sweet and friendly, but kept forgetting us. We put our full order in at once thinking to save time. Not really. It took us about 40 min to get our drinks...and the order was wrong. Our starters came shortly after and we had barely finished when our mains came out. Now, I can fully appreciate it was a busy kitchen, but there were some boo boos. To start, I ordered a Southern Revival. It comes in a whiskey glass. The thing is, I saw several of these being served and they were all full serves where mine was about halfway. If I'm paying $12 for a drink..give a full pour right? The wings that my brother in law ordered were the wrong ones. He asked for the mild buffalo and got super hot. Poor guy has Parkinson's so it was a rough go for him. We were all so hungry though that we just kept our food/drink. I ordered the YROC salad and wow. What a fantastic salad. Spinach, walnuts, apples, cranberry, and red onion with a raspberry vinaigrette. YUM! My sister got the cheese curds and from the way she devoured them I'm thinking they were pretty tasty. We all ordered a range of dishes as mains. I got the Mahi tacos (since the Huli chicken wasn't on the menu), mom got the captains special, her friend got the Trifecta, sis got the bang bang shrimp tacos and b-i-l got a burger. With the exception of the burger it was an amazing meal. We were so very full by the time we left we could barely walk to the car. We took a few moments to admire the view before heading home. This is a very casual, come as you are place for a good meal. Not sure about conversation if you eat inside, bring a sweater for eating out. If you don't like crowds but dig the vibe try lunch. Parking can be a challenge especially when they are really busy. There is a run off lot but it's a bit of a hike. Still...so worth spending a Saturday night with good food and great ambiance. Just wish we had a more attentive server.

The mashed potatoes need salt and pepper and butter. The fried pork chops needed salt as well. The Mac and cheese looked like Velveeta and the potatoes in the potatoe salad was firm but had a decent taste. There wasn't a designated server for any of the tables.
