Their inventory immediately stood out--they specialize in enthusiast-spec BMWs that are thoughtfully selected and often configured exactly how a true BMW enthusiast would want them. What really sets this dealership apart is the owner. He's a genuine car enthusiast, incredibly knowledgeable, and passionate about helping customers find the right vehicle. He took the time to walk us through every detail and even took us on a test drive to explain the car's features, performance, and what makes each model unique. There was absolutely no pressure--just an honest conversation with someone who truly loves BMWs. We flew down from Seattle, and the experience exceeded our expectations. It's rare to find someone who is both knowledgeable and genuinely cares about the customer experience. If you're looking for a special BMW, this is the place to start. We'll definitely be keeping an eye on their inventory for our next BMW. Thank you for making this such an enjoyable experience!

I've owned BMW M cars for nearly 20 years and recently visited San Diego Beemers while shopping for…read morea BMW X7. The salesperson I worked with was polite and professional throughout the interaction, so this review is not about any one individual. It's about the overall dealership experience. The process felt unnecessarily performative and ultimately wasted a significant amount of my time. I first visited during my lunch break to look at an X7 that had reportedly already been sitting for sale for quite some time. The vehicle itself had visible cobwebs on portions of the exterior, yet the dealership framed the buying process as highly exclusive and "appointment only." I was told I would need to return another day just to test drive the vehicle. I came back two days later for my scheduled appointment expecting a straightforward drive and discussion afterward. Instead, before I was even allowed behind the wheel, the conversation immediately shifted into pricing and commitment. I was told they wanted to make sure the deal was "worth their time" before permitting a test drive. The advertised price also turned out to be materially different from the actual selling price. During my first visit, items like wheel powder coating, tint, and door edge guards were presented as part of how they prepare their cars. During the second visit, those same items appeared as added charges on top of the listed price, increasing the total by several thousand dollars. I was also told the pricing was completely non-negotiable under any circumstance. Luxury buyers today value transparency, efficiency, and professionalism. Requiring multiple in-person visits before even allowing a test drive -- while adding thousands beyond the advertised price -- created an experience that felt far more like a high-pressure used car lot than a modern premium dealership. Ironically, I now have a different X7 sitting in my garage after an incredibly smooth and straightforward buying experience elsewhere, while the X7 at San Diego Beemers still appears to be sitting in the exact same spot on the lot -- cobwebs and all. I'm leaving this review simply so other buyers know what to expect before investing their time.

Now looking for a car should never be a painful experience. Nor should it ever be something you…read moreshould have to do very often because it is always a painful experience. The "Giant Used Car Tent Sale!" (I know you can hear it in your head... that voice that plays over and over on the radio). It's a place where half a dozen used car dealers bring their stock they want to get rid of and just have "large discounts" on them. The reason "large discounts" is in quotes is because all the stickers say "Normally" and "Tent Sale" prices. I went for 6 hours today... yeah... 6 freaking hours. It wasn't BAD just not fruitful. I got to check out a lot of cars and a few dealers, I'll just say I wouldn't buy from them. EVER. If you're looking for a car and you're okay trusting those used car salesmen. Come here. The prices are pretty competitive. Otherwise, It could just be a cool place to test drive a car.

We went on a Sunday, the last day of the monthly sale. We were warned by someone that they charge…read morethe sellers $1000/car which they pass on to the buyers. Also because they advertise financing that is probably how they are making their money. I would give the last person (Paul from san diego auto connnection) around a 3 to 4, but the first person from El Cajon Superstore about a negative 5. The other group there maybe a 2 to 3. NOTE we wanted to pay cash as had recently had an accident and been paid for our car. Also we were "guided" by a person directly to the back right into the "claws" of a salesperson from El Cajon Superstore. It was me, my husband and our daughter. What we realized later is that there were actually 3 different dealers there, but it took a while to figure this out as the person tried to keep us looking at his stuff. I am sure this "helpful" woman gets a kickback from this dealer, in fact I wouldnt be surprised if there isnt some other arrangement as they are directly back. I swear this person would have sold his mother an overpriced car and lied to her. He told us that they put "thousands" of dollars into each car including new tires. NONE of the tires were new. The second place (to the right when you walk in) was a bit better but also they were determined to put me in a car I didnt want. At least they had a better sales pitch. The last person was Paul from San Diego Auto Connection, He was the only one to me who seemed human and interested in what I was saying. He also gave me his card and told me to go online and check out the cars there (note ALL the cars at the sale were online and there were no better deals online but at least HE was honest). Its a good place to get comps to check against cars on craigslist and other dealers. TAKE YOUR SMART PHONE and use Kelly Blue Book while there to make sure you know what comps really are. I have been to a lot of the same "category" of used car lots and this places prices are at least 20% to 30% higher. You MAY get a good deal. I suggest doing your homework and not getting "switched" into a car you havent researched. AND research in front of them. and GOOD LUCK.

Of course, it's important to understand that this is a business, and their goal is to sell cars -- so you shouldn't expect to get a vehicle for free. From the moment we walked in, everyone was incredibly friendly, welcoming, and genuinely helpful. We never felt pressured or rushed into making a decision. What really stood out was their honesty. They didn't try to sugarcoat anything or give us the typical sales pitch--they answered every question directly, explained everything thoroughly, and made sure we were comfortable throughout the entire process. It felt like they actually cared about helping us find the right truck, not just making a sale. Buying a vehicle can be stressful, but the team at SO CAL Performance SD made it an enjoyable experience. Their professionalism, transparency, and customer service set them apart from every other dealership we visited. We couldn't be happier with our purchase and would absolutely recommend them to anyone looking for a quality vehicle and a dealership they can trust.

I would never recommend anyone to buy a vehicle from here. You are dishonest and a scam artist. When attempting to purchase GAP insurance you did everything in your power to make sure you talked us out of it. The only person that was ever honest through this whole process was Ivan. Would not recommend anyone this place. Save your money and go elsewhere, or bring a mechanic and have them scan the car to make sure there is no stored codes.
