My 2017 RAV4 had sustained paint chips scattered, a random crack in the back bumper and other 'imperfection'. I decided to go to CarStar in New Lenox based on reviews from others. I'm so glad I did. I paid for repair out of pocket. They helped me get a good rate on a loaner from Enterprise (also wonderful company to work with). The Mistrata family answered all my questions, gave me a reasonable price, and did a perfect job giving my car the facelift she desperately needed. My car was hit in the drivers side front wheel and the 4 wheel drive SUV that hit me drove over my fender and hood! I met with Pam who did a review of the damage, explained how MY insurance company tried to work, and told me that she'd handle getting me OEM parts, NOT aftermarket parts. I have a silver car which I know 'as a former body shop owner' is very difficult to match/blend. I was surprised and relieved to see that the paint was super close to a perfect match. ONLY ME being as anal as I am about my car could notice a slight difference, but no one else could. All the body lines were uniform, and all the parts they said they'd replace were done properly. It did take a little longer than I had hoped, but for a job well done, it was worth the wait. My compliments to Mistrata's for doing a great job. I highly recommend CARSTAR Mistrata's Collision. I had a minor fender bender and took car to another place to get an estimate. Carstar was a preferred shop with State Farm, so I took my car to Carstar to get an additional estimate. Comparing the 2 shops, Carstar Mistrata was far more superior! Customer service was EXCELLENT! Tony, the owner, took the time to explain the estimate and Pam, co-owner, was extremely knowledgable as well. I love that they are a local family owned business. The repairs were done quickly, even over the holidays. And get this: because, I lived somewhat near their commute to garage, they offered to pick up my car and even dropped it off when repair was completed. What a HUGE convenience. The repair looks brand new and I am extremely satisfied with the results. I now will be taking my other car in for a repair due to their reasonable pricing, outstanding customer service, and superior workmanship. read more

My son was involved in a small fender bender and I need a body shop to take my car to. The normal place I would have gone was no longer in business and was now some corporate place that wasn't even a preferred shop with Travelers Insurance. The adjuster had given me a few names and I picked Fifer's. After the car was towed to Fifer's I spoke with Tony, the owner, and he went over everything with me. We discussed where the parts were coming from and really put me at ease because he said he was the one that would work on the car. I didn't know that this was a small family owned shop and I'm glad to support the small guy! Tony took his time and kept me and my husband informed through the whole repair. Tony even let me know that I needed brakes on the car, which I knew, and replaced the brakes for half of what the dealership quoted me. I would recommend Tony and the staff of Fifer's for any auto repair. Thank you Tony for the TLC and to your son who did a great job detailing the car and having it looking like new when I picked up. CARSTAR Mistrata's Collision Service - Body Shops Near Me - New Lenox, Illinois

I was involved in a car accident, Travelers paid for Fifers to do the work. I first thought they were amazing with service, bc the allowed me to make 2 payments to pay in full, because I was tight on money. I honestly thought, wow, what gracious individuals, but then upon receiving my vehicle back, not even 30 days later i almost rolled my car on the busy i88 interstate-- the bearings they were to replace and put on new, were bad. It gets better, the owner called left a very sexist, rude vm. I forwarded VM to Travelers , he didn't believe me that the bearings were bad, bc I was a WOMAN. We brought the car to him, guess what, it was in fact the bearings, he blamed it on Travelers saying they would only allow him to purchase the cheap napa ones. So he knowingly put horrible wheel bearings on my car, once I saw the first receipt the type he had put on, I went to Napa corporate, this is also posted on my twitter page, they recalled the majority of those bearings, and why any professional mechanic would ever put those type of bearings on a main driving vehicle, is baffling. This was cause for an almost wrongful death lawsuit. Travelers and myself also paid for front end alignment, which because I purchased tires on my own through them as well, should have been done twice. Not even 35000 miles later, using the Hancook tires the recommended they were completely balled, then the next set I purchased through another facility the informed me the alignment was not done, not correctly or anything, thats why my tires didnt last and shaking. Now Travelers and myself have gone through 2 sets of wheel bearings and now 2 sets of tires due to them. I really had high hopes for this family owned business, but it sickened me that they put my life, and my sons life in danger, and they knew those wheel bearings were not good, He never took responsibility for anything, he blamed everything on either Napa, and travelers, not once did he apologize about his verbal attacks to me, his wife called me, and she too didn't even apologize. So much was wrong with this picture, and I lost a lot of respect for this business. Do not be fooled by the front desk kindness, pray to God your car works 30 days later and no one dies in a car accident. NEVER AGAIN! read more
