This was about while ago but I came to Carstar initially after hitting some road debris that damaged my bumper. They were recommended by my dad, and the first experience was mostly fine. We bought a new bumper, and Carstar painted it for us. We took it home to install ourselves and used zip ties to temporarily secure the damaged under-covers until we could properly replace them. Unfortunately, my bumper got scraped by an elderly driver at a gas station--so I returned to Carstar. The damage this time was minor compared to the first incident. The car ended up sitting in their shop for almost a month. When I finally got it back, the bumper was on, but none of the damaged covers were even partially secured. Not even the quick zip tie fix we had before. I drove home, and as I did, one of the loose covers got caught by the wheel and ripped off entirely. Considering the shop quoted the insurance company thousands of dollars for what was essentially a small scrape, it's frustrating that they couldn't be bothered to at least secure those covers or suggest sourcing replacements. Overall, I'm disappointed in the lack of attention to detail and customer care this time around. Color matching was pretty good though. read more

I AM SO HAPPY I DECIDED TO USE CARSTAR! I got rear ended and needed to get repairs done on my car. The way I found out about Carstar was through Piercey Toyota. Carstar has a space at Piercey. I spoke to Junior about getting an estimate on the damages and he was able to quickly get me my estimate and take photos for the insurance company. I dropped off my car at Carstar the week of Christmas. I knew it would take longer due to the holidays, but it was the only time I had the chance to drop it off. I was still recovering from the accident. Junior was great! He gave me updates on my car and did all he can to get my car to me as soon as he could. I really appreciated that! When I finally picked up my car, I was amazed! It looked brand new! The cleaned the inside and outside of my car. I didn't expect them to clean the inside of it. They also left me a small bottle of hand sanitizer in my cup holder. I had been meaning to use Goo Gone to get rid of the sticky stuff on the windshield (when you get a new car and they leave that piece of paper with your car information). I had taken the paper out, but never got the gunk out. It was gone! I am a very happy and satisfied customer! If I have any bodyshop needs, I know where I will go. I totally agree with the people who when there to expect having their car reaparición and they ending getting worse job ever. I know we all do mistakes but knowing you're doing wrong and you don't care about it I'd even worst. I was trying to support them because since they Hispanic , I tough why not help them , instead they did a terrible job. They leave the work terrible on top of that they charge over $16,000 and I found that my car HAS a LEAK . I went over to solve the problem with them . Again they said they gonna fix it and they said they gonna "call me " when the parts come , they said " it will take a" little bit longer " ( really for one or 2 parts " ) It's been more than 4 months and I haven't heard from any of them . So I'm asking the people who see this review: is that ok what they doing ? And still no answer from them and take responsibility o what they did? They were in contract with my insurance company. Took several months to get repairs done, mostly because parts were not available, that's understandable. Released car on a Friday with some non-critical parts not installed that were on back order, but when parts came in, they said they would only do the repairs Monday-Wednesday, and only between the hours of 8 am to 5 pm. Due to the nature of my job, I work across San Jose from their shop and work Monday-Thursday 8-6 making it impossible for me to drop the car off unless I plan several months ahead since my schedule is done several months in advance. I scheduled a date for 2 months away that fit their hours and they confirmed this date. Mind you, I took the whole day off work to be able to drop off and pick up the car before they close at 5. One business day before I was supposed to drop off the car, they texted me to inform me they would be closed that day and that I had to reschedule. I had to reschedule an appointment again 4 months away in December as this is my next availability due to work. Their terrible hours of availability and their unwillingness to offer reasonable drop off and pick up times are the reason for the review. Because of this, I would not recommend them. It is going to have taken 9 months to complete the repairs providing they don't cancel my appointment again in December. If they are going to only offer services 3/7 days of the week, they should offer hours that extend beyond banking hours so that average, everyday working folks don't have to take time off work to accommodate them. I will be informing my insurance company of the difficulties working with this company and recommending this facility not be contracted with for other customers after automobile accidents. read more

Dark Wedgewood Blue. That's the color of my 10 year old Ford F-150. A few years back, the paint wasn't so dark wedgewoody. The look became faded and oxidized, especially on the hood and roof of the cab. The damage caused by nature made it look dried out and non-shiny. Without the clear coat, it just was not handsome and appealing anymore. In comes ECR. Got the Exterior Detail, where they used a compound and polymer sealer wax. The all-day polish job unimaginably took care of the oxidation and a few little scratches. There was no guarantee that all of the oxidation would be buffed out. I came back at lunch to check out progress and to confirm continuation. I was mesmerized with the hood work alone. And so were they. The truck looks good as new! Staff was professional, prompt, and experienced. No pressure was involved. In fact, Junior helped me understand what they do, what paint does over years, and provided some options for my truck. He also suggested some pointers on how to maintain the "new" look. I now believe that miracles can happen. Thanks ECR! read more

I had my car repaired at Carstars and they did a poor job at repairing my car. They used OEM parts that damage and harmed my car. They repaired my car along with the AC about a year ago and the AC broke within a few months. They keep questioning me and try to make it my fault that I bought my car in so late. For a 2016 Honda Civic, the AC should not be broken so easily. AC should work for at least 15 years before needing to replace it. If they fixed it right in the first place, they would not be wasting so much money because my dealership replaced all their OEM parts with original Honda parts. I am so thankful for State Farm's for paying for all of this. I bought it here because I had a car repaired here before, so I thought I would bring it back here. It was a bad choice. From now on, I am bringing it to the dealership where they fixed my car. They used original parts from Honda and my car was fixed within 2 days. My AC works great with no problem now. 1 star because they broke my AC, but they have great customer services. read more

Communication and time management seems to be lacking here. I dropped off my car for bumper repairs due to an accident, and it took me two weeks to finally get my car back since the person that was overseeing the repairs went on vacation for a few days. The funniest part was that I received a text message from the shop, saying that my car was was finally ready to be picked up. I get here in the morning, and of course, it's not ready. The receptionist said their system automatically sends texts out stating that the cars are ready, which is weird to me since it is misleading to customers. read more

I have been bringing my cars to them since they were on Gish Rd. and 4th St. and continue to do so now that they're on Brokaw Rd. Their customer service is great and really listen to what we want done. They never try to cut corners and will work with the insurance company to make sure we are satisfied. Miguel, the owner, is the best and treats us like family. When Junior was there, he always did his best to make sure we were happy. The front staff (Adriana and Nancy) are always so friendly and Marisela has been great to work with. I cannot begin to put into words how awesome this place is! I'm a new driver and never even thought about having an auto shop before someone rammed into the side of my car and España's Collision Repair had my back! When I first arrived for the quote Miguel was patient with me when I told him I wanted to go to my dealership as well and get a quote from them. One of the reasons I came back is because the guy at the dealership told me he didn't really want to give me a quote and would rather just start working on it. When I returned to España's they walked me though all the repairs and told me they would hash out everything with the other person's insurance since they accepted full blame. I had a gift card for their shop which covered five days of my rental but the parts for my car were late one day and I had issues cashing a part of the insurance check, where it took an extra day to process and they coved my rental for those two extra days. After being nervous and scared of going to a stranger to fix my car I left so satisfied and pleased with the work they did! Will definitely recommend this place to everyone I know. Every time I called with any question or concern Silvia at the front desk was patient and sweet and answered all my questions. Thank you for fixing my baby! Thank you for all your hard work! I would give you a million stars if Yelp allowed it! After my truck was rear ended and sustained major frame damage, Carstar was the third shop I took my truck to for an estimate. Israel was able to see my truck immediately for an estimate and took my truck and had me in a rental in less than an hour while I waited for the other shops to call me back. I was skeptical about the repair but Israel showed me a similar F150 with the exact same damage they were in the middle of repairing, this immediately gave me the confidence I needed to leave my truck in their hands. He gave me a clear timeline and kept me well updated throughout the process and dealt with all the insurance BS. When I picked up my truck on schedule, all my expectations were completely met and they even were able to make some final adjustments to one of the doors on my truck that was slightly out of line (I was a bit nit-picky, but they gladly obliged). EDIT (again): The day after the I got my car back for the final time I realized they took off two of my air valve caps and didn't replace them. Not even worth a call back, great work guys. EDIT: after speaking to the owner it turns out the damaged bumper was a refurbished one that insurance makes them use and the prongs on it were damaged, which is why it kept popping out. they got a new bumper approved by statefarm and did excellent work painting and attaching it, BUT this was only after having to take time to come into the shop for a total of 4 times after the initial repair. also, what really left a bad impression with us was that on the second visit, they glued my bumper back into place. yes, glued. i had to get back to work so i wasnt able to question them or ask for a redo, but when we brought this up to the owner he seems very surprised that they had used glue on my car in the first place. read more

The worse of the worse experience here....go elsewhere!!!! I brought in my 2013 Lexus for water intrusion problem 8 days ago, and got it back with multiple issues. Here's what happened... I baby my car so it's been kept very clean when I brought it in. Apparently, a gasket behind the bumper has water leaking into the trunk all the way to the rear carpet and seats...unfortunately, my warranty ended last month, but my insurance covered it. Now this place suggested to change my carpet and said the inside need to be cleaned out and dried, so I said ok- new carpet...why not. A week later, I was told my car was done and its ready for pick up after 12pm the next day. I came in to pick it up, and the owner said it's not ready for another 2 hrs. Ok, killed some time , came back, car's good.....no wait! Navigation screen not functioning, and car was such a mess! Carpet looks like it was not replaced(they could've vacuum it at least), and the car was soooo dusty(fiber glass dust shimmering). Tech explained that they had to use a fan to dry out the inside before adding the carpet. Ok, but why would you return a car in that condition??? They told me to come back the next day so they can detail. Ok no problem. I shall return for the detail. Pulled up to my house, and first thing my son said, "dad what happened to your bumper?" Whaaat? Came around to look at the corner passenger side front bumper, and found a huge gash. I'm fuming at this time. I called the owner right away and he said that they're about to close and he will take a look at it the next day. Came the next day, and first thing he said-" I noticed that damage when you dropped it off last week, I just forgot to tell you". WTF! I told him that I took a picture of it when I dropped it off--showed him the pictures, and even enlarged the areas for him. Nada! Not a single scratch. He then changed the subject, saying that maybe a vendor hit it while parked on their lot, or a tech maybe hit something but did not feel it....etc. I said please just fix it and detail my car. He agreed. This was on a Saturday. He said my car would be done by Monday. I did not get a call until Tues. I thought fine, as long as they do the job correctly. I came to pick it up today, and first thing I noticed was they did a good job on the bumper. But wait! What the hell is this slit above where they had worked on??? It's a gaping cut so noticeable that you can even see the layers of the resin they used. I showed the owner right away, and he said they had only repaired the initial damage...I told him, "yes I see that but you guys created another damage!" Then he straight told me that the dealership will take care of it, and I should take it there! WTF!!! To top that off, I went home and check the interior and found some deep marks on plastic panel near the seats, like someone missed their aim with a sharp object. My missing bolt cover was also not replaced after the owner said that they had probably just misplaced it in their shop. At this point, I was over it. I decided to just leave them a nice review here and vent at the same time. You've been warned! These people are very dishonest. If you decide to still take it there, take lots of photos, inside and out, they can't lie to you. In response to their comment here: what disconnect? I have shown pictures, and communicated this. You guys know my number, and if you wanted to do this right, you would've taken the car back to fix it again! Update:2/10/17 Happened to check the trunk after the rain....and found a puddle of water in the battery compartment(hybrid), then locks for the cover for that battery compartment is missing! Will see if they warranty this or come up with excuses!!! read more

I recently had my car side-swiped on the notorious highway 17 between Santa Cruz and San Jose. I had dents and missing paint from the driver's side rear bumper all of the way to the from bumper. It looked awful. The insurance company actually asked if the car was just totaled, considering that it is a 2007. However, it was in fine shape, other than the accident. From the initial call to Adrianna at the front desk to finally receiving my car from Israel, the bodywork mechanic, it was a pleasant experience. They found me a $25 per day rental car, kept me updated on the progress, and even detailed the car inside and out before returning it. It now looks like nothing ever happened! My truck was hit by a driver while parked at a local business. The bumper was completely damaged and needed to be replaced. I didn't know anyone who was reputable that would help me deal with the insurance and this problem. One of my friends referred me to España's Collision Repair. She said that it was an excellent place because the work was impeccable and the customer service was excellent. I called and made an appointment. When I got there, I spoke to Terri Valdez, who was extremely nice and helpful. Then Junior Araujo who conducted the estimate on the damage. He gave a very professional estimate and took care of my truck. They provide excellent service and do an excellent job. España's Collision Repair, thanks for your great service and making this experience go by faster! I thought this would take a long time, but they fixed my truck within less than a week. Called on 12/18/15 to confirm Pickup on Saturday...I was told car will be ready Monday noon time. No update until 12/22 @ 5:56PM..."your car us ready, but we close at 6:00PM" REALLY giving someone 4 minutes to pick up car?? I picked up car on 12/23...car was not detailed as promised, I am not even sure if Original Parts are used to fix my car... This place gets 5 stars. I have taken my 2013 Crosstour to this shop twice. The first time I decided to use this shop was because they were on the preferred State Farm list and located near my work. The second time I decided to use this shop was because I had received great service the first time (even though they had moved a few miles further from my work) 1st time -my vehicle got broken into: smashed window, which shattered glass everywhere including in the vents and causing small tears in my leather seat. 2nd time: A heavy box fell on top of my hood causing several dents. The crew there were extremely helpful. Both the ladies at the front desk were very kind and professional. Junior made the process super easy, he took care of everything including setting up my rental agreement and shuttle service. One morning I woke up and realized that I had a nice sized scratch on my 6 month old 2011 mustang. A friend at work recommended ECR to me and told me they do great work. I took my car down and showed Jr the scorches and a small chip I had. In just a couple of minutes he had the scratch on the back of my car almost worked out completely to the point where it is hardly noticeable. The second (and larger scratch that I first noticed) was worked out to the point where it is much less noticeable. Finally I had a small chip on the drivers side door and some touch up paint that Jr happily put on and made it like new again. Jr let me know that to really get the big scratch perfect I would need to have the whole panel repainted, but with the way it looks now i am perfectly content. When I asked how much the damages were he told me to just remember them if I ever need any more work done. The place my boss normally takes his car to was booked, so we tried Espana's since it was close to work. When I called in, they said they could take me in, and that the wash would take 30 minutes, so i decided to wait it out. The wash actually took a little over an hour, so I had to sit there and wait. It wouldn't be too bad, but it was FREEZING in there. The people there are really really really nice though, and brought me a personal heater towards the last 10 minutes of the wait. The manager for the car wash service was really nice as well. Unfortunately, when I got back, my boss was not happy with the wash. He said there were streaks all over the car. It was the same price as the place we normally take it to, that does steam wash as well. He no longer wants to take the car there, and will be sticking to his normal car wash place. Still, very nice people at Espanas. Just not the best car wash for higher end cars. read more

Horrible customer service from the front desk. I came because this place was on State Farm's list for body shop repairs and I needed my door fixed after an accident. After 4 days of having my car I get a call saying "when can I pick up the car. The car is ready", I say I work and will get off at 5:30. She sounds annoyed and says they close at 6. I say fine I'll pick it up tomorrow. She wants a specific time, so I just say 11am. She hangs up and after talking to my boss she lets me out early to go pick up my car. Literally 20 mins later after I just spoke with the receptionist!! She says sorry you already said tomorrow so we won't have the car ready until tomorrow at 11am. Lol what!! We just spoke 20 mins ago!! She says the car won't be ready until 11am tomorrow. Says it still needs to be washed (I'll get back to the wash part later) anyways my point is Don't call someone and say the car is ready to be picked up when it isn't!!! I ended up going the next day, because I had no choice and even gave them an extra hour, to make sure my car would be ready. When I showed up the car did not look washed at all!! I asked the guy if it was washed and he said yes, I asked him why there was spider webs outside of the car. He had no real answer. I was annoyed but I couldn't do much about it. The dent on my door is gone, so I didn't give them one star. But after the poor wash and horrible customer service it's hard to focus on the main reason I was there. I can only imagine how their detail service is after seeing how their basic wash is. After all this I go inside and the receptionist has a major Attitude problem because I was questioning the service on my car and reading the warranty. They need to hire better customer service oriented people! Or maybe she shouldn't be work in the front. It's all about presentation!!! If the car was presented to me in a better way we would never have had an issue! And did I mention right when I started my car it popped up with a warning sign saying something was wrong with my headlights!! I told the receptionist and she said the guy was at lunch. I told her I needed to speak with someone about the light that came on. She was annoyed, but finally got someone to help me. The guy was a super sweet mechanic that said he needed 25 more mins to figure out what was wrong. The way he was apologetic made the amount of time he needed ok. Ll. All this should have all been taken care of before I got there. Again I repeat it's all about presentation. I would NEVER go here again! State Farm should not use this place, because it really reflects their company. I will definitely let family and friends know to go somewhere else. Update!! Don't go here if you have a black car!! Turns out a few days after getting my car back you can see silver swirls on the door they fixed. State Farm said I HAD to go back because they have to fix it! Worst thing I did! After taking it back they ruined my paint on not just the door BUT the whole side of the car. They tried to call me to fix the problem but I said HELL NO! So the rest of the car can be worse then it already is! State Farm sent someone to check it out and said the paint job was ruined and just wrote me a check to get a new paint job!
