I was interested in finding out about treating my lawn for Fleas and was doing some comparative shopping. I consider myself a loyal customer so I tried calling Carters for a discussion on what they would quote. I played phone tag with them at least 10x's and the owner sounded extremely irritated at even having to make a phone call. I wanted a straight direct professional answer. This never happened. Once I did speak with the owner he just went off about how difficult the laws are and how hard his business is... really! I called for a quote, not to listen to his ranting! When I told him I was not interested in any of that he became VERY RUDE and ANGRY... He told me to go with another company and literally hung up on me. The worst customer ever! Only reason I didn't do five stars is that I can't say for sure that it is as good as it gets, but I wouldn't be surprised. Used to have rats in my yard, now there is only the very occasional dead one. The people I deal with couldn't be nicer. Yeah. I am a fan. read more

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!! VERY RUDE & DISRESPECTFUL!! This is the worst service from any service company I have ever experienced. About a week ago, my wife called Carter's Pest Control and asked them to come out and spray for spiders around our house. The lady who answered asked my wife if we wanted them to spray for flea's as well. My wife told the "lady no thanks." About ten minutes goes buy after my wife got off the phone, the owner (the lady's husband, John) called back and asked if we wanted them to spray for fleas. Again, my wife said "no thanks." On the day that Carter's Pest came to spray, I signed for the bill and wrote the check, and was unaware of how much they quoted my wife. Several days later my wife sees the paid invoice and noticed that they charged us for flea spray. Today my wife called to ask why it was done. The owner, John... started YELLING at my wife, putting my ( 8-1/2 month pregnant) wife in tears, and asking "So what would you like me to do? Write you a check for $20?" (Sarcastically). My wife says no, but maybe you could give us a credit for difference on our account for any future service. I don't care if it's $20, or $2,000.... or even if you are right or wrong... you don't treat people (especially a woman) like this. This is HORRIBLE business. I have used Carter Pest Control for the last 20 years. He or his employee's provides monthly service to my yard. I have had to call him for bees, racoons, gophers and rats. In all of these he was professional and courteous. I have found that some of his employees are not as concerned as he is. They don't work for him very long. I have also found that some of the people I have referred to him do not have reasonable expectation and do not pay. I do and would use him for any pest problems. read more

I'd use them for several years and they're very reliable and friendly. they use chemicals that are not harmful to humans and animals. what made me write in that I had a fly problem and instead of selling me hundreds of dollars worth of product or treatment he just recommended several things I can get at Home Depot or even a baggie a water above my patio. who does that. honest people that want business I will always referred them and only them to people with past problems. John Carter is the best pest guy around! He uses natural product to kill ants and other undesirable creatures. Although he always recommends regular maintenance, I rarely have to because once he sprays, I have no more worries!!! He is absolutely the best! I have used this company for over 15 yrs and have never had a problem with them. They make accommodations to meet my time schedule and it has been a wonderful bonding experience for me. They call the day before to remind me to provide entry. I like that, they just do not show up. No matter what the "pest" is, they can handle it. The owner is literally the rudest person Ive ever met on this planet. They performed additional services that I clearly and specifically declined over the phone (while I was not home) and my husband was home and had no idea about what I had asked the company to do so when they finished, my husband went ahead and signed the invoice and paid. Later I called the company to ask why they did these extra services and he started yelling at me and saying my husband was dumb to not look at the invoice before paying, and was just saying smart-ass comments. Never apologized or offered to reimburse us or credit us. What doesn't even make sense too is that one of these additional services that I declined would have required some prep work on my part that I never even did (I think they needed me to cover my beds and couches with plastic or tarps or something, I forget the exact details of that) so how is it that they still did the work? Didn't add up. He's just plain mean and greedy. If I could give 0 stars I would. read more
