I was supposed to receive the car on 9/13. on 9/12 after 4pm I got a text saying my delivery was delayed and was moved to Saturday 9/17 at 9:30 am. So does that mean you never checked the car before you sold it??? How did you get it off of the truck at your depot? If there was a issue with the car, why could you not just say that. Never buy a car through Carvana! It was a terrible experience. The Carvana workers took away a week of quiet life from me, also more than 3K dollars in advance payment and more than 1K dollars in insurance premium. Now I'm in the process of getting all that money back. Carvana has been using my first payment for personal purposes for over a week! And the money will be returned to my bank account in another two weeks. I applied to purchase a car from Carvana online. On the same day, according to their rules, I paid more than 5K dollars for the car. The bank approved the loan for me and all the necessary documents were uploaded on time to the Carvana website. Today, according to schedule, I was supposed to receive the car. But Carvana did not do this, she shifted all the blame onto the bank. As it turned out later, this car is not for sale at all. So what did I pay for earlier? Why did I apply for a loan and make a down payment? What car did I insure for? This raises a question probably not only for me. This is a fraudulent scheme in which Carvana uses clients' money and then refuses them. Carvana is interested in providing a loan for a car at high interest rates. If you choose your bank with a lower interest rate, it will not be easy to buy a car from them. So much anticipation, nerves and money were spent during the week. Never trust Carvana! read more

I've been meaning to write up the experience I had just before the pandemic hit. I had been shopping for a used Prius and found one out of state that Carvana said could be shipped to this location at no charge. Great, I put in my order and waited a week. When the car arrived they discovered it lacked some of the options that had been listed but didn't reduce the price (they gave me some line about the price being set according to the VIN so no matter what the description said, they price was correct. Really?) Given there weren't many choices, I thought I'd take a look at it nonetheless. I took it for a test drive, pushed a button on the dash and the entire switch just fell into the dashboard. They did not hesitate to say they'd have it repaired. But I also noticed a chipped windshield as well. In the end I didn't get the car. They clearly had not spent any time really inspecting it and they lost my trust. In the end I'm soooo glad I didn't buy the car especially since I've been working from home since then and it would have been sitting in my garage. read more

Took 2 months before I actually got my vehicle. They rescheduled my delivery 6 times. Called a few times and was told they would call me back and of course it was 2 weeks before anyone called me and I had to call them over and over. Car finally arrived. Side panel was coming off, quick fix with glue. Back seat a/c wasn't working so I opened the panel and it had been unplugged, easy fix. No floor mats, they ordered me new ones, easy fix. It was all easy fixable issues, but annoying. Especially the lack of communication and the wait time to actually get the vehicle. Many times the cancelled on the day of delivery. I would never buy from carvana again, but I am happy with my vehicle .... So far. It's only been a week. Also only comes with a half tank of gas now lol, maybe due to gas prices? read more

Overall, the purchase process had some issues from the beginning. We were paying cash for this vehicle but apparently anytime there is a linking issue they suggest applying for financing, which we didn't need. It was a pre-order which in my opinion took way too long and all I kept getting was the standard 18-days it could take in some cases. The car arrived finally, after paying a $590 shipping charge, which I still don't understand. If you are selling cars nationwide, then the either all of some sort of shipping charge or none have one. Not all the imperfections were noted on the vehicle condition but they appear to be making it right at this point. I have to do a lot of communication to get things done and they automated responses are insane and over done. If you are spending $20,000 I expect to be treated a bit more directly. I'm doing this review after only 7 days so I'm sure there will be a few more issues to tackle. I did take this vehicle to my local KIA dealership with the obvious issues and luckily all were cover under the original Manufacture's warranty and those that were SilverRock is currently covering them. The cosmetic issues are also starting to be addressed but time will tell on how they handle that. Apparently this vehicle did in fact have an accident that was not disclosed on the Carvana Website or in the CarFax report, the fingerprints imbedded in the paint on the driver side door were a tell tale sign that repair were performed that were not disclosed. I would recommend anyone that is purchasing a vehicle site unseen and relying on poorly coordinated photos, inspect every inch of the vehicle when it arrives. Although they give you 400 miles and 7 days, drive it as much as you need to weed things out. I'm still finding small items that will probably need to be addressed, so the 100 day warranty that comes with the vehicle will be put to the test. If you have lots of time and effort I wouldn't say not buy a vehicle from Carvana but realize that as simple as the process is to shop and buy, after you receive your ride, you will be in for the long haul if you want to make sure the vehicle will last as long as it should. Make sure they fix everything you are concerned with and don't hold back on pushing for any repairs that are needed. read more

I had an approval with a no-money down option in a matter of seconds! I took the vehicle for an independent inspection, and the mechanic told me the car was practically brand new! It's a 2018 Ford EcoSport. On a scale of 1 to 10, he gave it a 9! I since have referred family and friends looking to purchase a vehicle to Carvana. About 2 months ago I placed a reservation for a car. They said it would take about a week or two for the car to become available. After more than 4 weeks of no contact I received a notice that the vehicle did NOT meet their standards and was no longer for sale. Then a couple weeks later I get an email that the car is now available. They were not very helpful since I was using my credit union for financing and not their company. They said they could not deliver my car to me until Carvana had a cashiers check. So, I had to jump through hoops to close on my car loan 5 days before the car was scheduled to be delivered....One 12/10 on 9:51 Am Cleo signed for my check. The car was delivered on 12/13 and the Carvana employee immediately got out of his car and apologized. He said he's never seen them sell a call that was in this kind of shape. The odor in the car was so bad, it gave me a headache within seconds of sitting in the car. There was a Ticket hanging from the rear view mirror indicating the car had recently been "sanitized." The delivery guy apologized a number of times and said he was putting a lot of notes in the system and that someone would call us back today. I was very upset, that they did not call me before I fedexed a check for $20,000 to them, to say hey just want to let you know this car has a very strong odor. You may want to wait to purchase it until you've smelled it. Nothing was done to warn us of the issue, they did not refuse the check which should have been done since the car was not delivered. No sale was made. Now it's 12/15 I've been trying for days to get someone to get back to me, and I've been told they can't find my check. They are behind and they have no idea of how long it is going to take them to locate my check and send it back to my bank. So, I have another car on hold that I'm trying to buy with CarMax and I can't because I have no idea when they are going to refund my 20,000 that they received on the 10th. You cannot speak to anyone in charge, no one in accounting, no one in management...When I ask for an estimate of how long it will take them to find my check, I am told we don't know. There is a backlog. NEVER buy a car from them again...They are willing to resell a car with stains all over the interior, a smell of chemicals, inside that gives you an immediate headache. read more

I have been trying to sell a car with Carvana. I got a quote twice and then next step is to provide a copy of your driver's license and title. There site is not secure and uploading these documents is risky. I did this in spite of my misgivings because the quote was the best that I received. 15 emails back and forth and providing the same document 4 times the trade department finally responded that they had the documents and would set-up my pickup in 24-48 hours. The next day they emailed and asked me for the same documents AGAIN. I asked for a supervisor to call me or for someone to call me. I tried calling and the line is continuously busy. What a sad disappointment. Everything was going well. I ws so excited with the process working so well. Shopping and the online process was well done. Once the human factor came into play, it all went down hill fast. The morning of my vending machine pickup, they called me to let me know that they found a minor crack in the window washing tank. They would get it fixed during the 7day period. Their lie #1. They would not be doing anything. I ended up having to deal with the repair. Lie #2. Easy returns if you are not satisfied. Nope, they have already sent my car to Indiana. It would take days to get it back. Lie #3. Great customer service. Only if you don't have a complaint. If you have a complaint they will put you into a 24-48 hour "we'll get back to you call". If you are happy they will talk to you. Luck for me the car I purchased from Carvana is still under manufacture's warranty. So the local deal was more than happy to deal with me. Buyer beware. GET EVERYTHING IN COMPLETE WRITING. If you have purchased from them and are in possession of a lemon, file a consumer complaint report with your State Attorney General as well as the Arizona State Attorney General's office (they are headquartered in Arizona). Carvana sold us a lemon, we had to pay out of pocket for a new engine because SilverRock Inc., the warranty company Carvana works with, put up so many roadblocks to getting the car fixed that our 100-day warranty ran out. We are currently working with IL and AZ State Attorney General's offices. My husband chose a car late on 2/3/22. As of today, 2/24/22, delivery has been cancelled/rescheduled 5 times. I'm wondering if the car exists or if they sold it to someone else. Yes, it's winter, yes, it's hard to find employees, yes, first world problems. But come on! They required that he change his car insurance to list the new used car VIN instead of his current vehicle VIN, done 2/4/22. Our insurance co covers both vehicles for 30 days, generous enough, but that expires 3/4/22. Delivery date supposedly will be 3/2, yeah right. We will then need extra days after receiving the phantom car to have it looked over, and to have his current older car fixed/maintained prior giving it in hopefully good shape to a family member. Last week, a Carvana employee told us the car had made it from AZ or NM to Indianapolis. It was supposed to arrive at the Chicago location early 2/24/22, get another inspection, and arrive at 5:30 today. And now it will take another 6 days. Carvana is throwing some compensation $ at my husband, but he'd MUCH rather have the car. It's ridiculous, and very inconvenient - I need to get my used car from the family member before I start a new job with a looong commute next week, and I wanted to have that car looked over so it's less likely to break down in central Illinois. Now I'll have to lend them my husband's older car that hasn't been gone over and fixed/maintained properly, because I need to drive that car every day. And I won't have the time before the new job starts to get my car checked. So if you're considering buying from Carvana, don't count on seeing the car - apparently they either they lie, lie, lie to cover themselves, or they are extremely disorganized. Buyer beware!! Simply put, Carvana is a NIGHTMARE way to buy a car! This is simply the facts with dates and correspondence over the past 5 months. You can make your own opinion after reading. 6/10/19 - Car order placed online. 6/12/19 - Car pickup at Oak Brook, IL and trade-in of my original vehicle. 6/13/19 - Returned car at Oak Brook due to engine issues, filed return paperwork, and received my trade-in back. 8/2/19 - Received notice from original vehicle financer that my loan has been paid off and the title was sent to the payor (Carvana). This was confirmed with financer. 8/2/19 - Contacted Carvana customer support regarding this issue and was told they would get back to me. ALL OF AUG 2019 - At least a dozen phone calls, spanning several hours, to Carvana following up on this issue with no path to resolution. 8/19/19 - Carvana sent me the title to my trade-in via FedEx, but the title was signed by Caravana as the purchaser. The title is now useless and additional time will be required to clear this mistake. 8/31/19 - My email sent to Carvana's customer service rep handling the case: It's been 4 weeks (8/2/2019) since I've heard anything from Carvana regarding this issue and 12 weeks since the mistakes first happened (6/13/2019). To be clear, I followed all steps required to return the auto and receive my car back, but several very large errors occurred on the Carvana side. Carvana did NOT process my return correctly. Carvana should NOT have paid off my loan. Carvana should NOT have signed the title for my vehicle. 9/4/19 - Carvana responds 3 business days later: Sorry for the delays in updates. I am going to let you know what is currently going on with your case: 1. Our Financial operations team has requested another review of the case in order to provide you with a better solution. 2. the first option they provided was offer you to just turn in the vehicle as if you have sold to us, that way you would be able to walk way from the deal without an issue. Upon further review we will be able to provide you with a few options in order to move forward. They have requested 48 hours to review the account. I will be in contact with you on Friday, when I get a more concrete update. *This is a horrible option for any customer, why even offer it? 9/6/19 - Carvana's Finance Operations Team contacts me It seems as though we have inadvertently paid this vehicle off. It looks as though you are aware of the situation and I do sincerely apologize for all of this miscommunication. I have spoken with the vehicle financer and they advised that they will need the title sent back to them. From my understanding you do have that title. If you can please send that title back to them at the below address that would be greatly appreciated. This will allow us to get our refund from them for the vehicle. *This process is not as straightforward as they communicated. The original financer had several legal requirements to be met before opening a new account, which would have resulted in several weeks or months of lag time. 9/16/19 - Original Financer recieved the title back from me. 9/23/19 - I called the original financer to get a status which is when they informed me of the process which could take weeks or months to clear the title and reinstate my loan. FAST FORWARD 4 WEEKS 10/21/19 - The original financer sent Carvana my cleared title, Carvana received a check from me to payoff the loan, and I'm currently waiting to receive my title. 10/22/19 - Carvana is waiting for the check to clear before sending me the clear title which they told me would take 48hrs. 10/29/19 - I contacted Carvana via email & phone requesting an update. They replied with: The mail was awaiting sorting from our home office in tempe to our second office where our accounting department is in Scottsdale. It should be deposited today. *More delays due to miscommunication since the deposit should have happened a week ago. 10/30/19 - Title has yet to be sent, almost 5 months later, and after my check was cashed. read more

I just purchased a 2019 Acura RDX. I was very hesitant, but to my surprise this experience was the best car purchase of my life. Your able to sit at home online and decide if you want gap insurance or extended warranties without a salesman trying to pad your contact with things you don't need. I expected that at that price it would at least be in excellent condition and trusted the 150 point inspection. However, upon taking it in for a routine oil change the mechanic discovered it has been leaking oil for much longer than I have had it and said they absolutely should have seen and fixed that. Now I have to pay over $3000 to repair it myself and they will take no accountability. GO TO CARMAX. I was in a bind and needed a car fast. CarMax couldn't guarantee me the car from another CarMax would be in town in time. (Eventually they pulled through) However that night (Wednesday night) I got online and Carvana would have my car ready on Friday. The initial setup online was easy and flawless. I got the car with no problems. They offer to get your plates squared away. I used this option because I had to leave for out of town for the next three months. This is were it all goes down hill. As the time approaches for my temp tags to expire I call. They only have one 800 number to call for everything. I call and the lady said she would check into it. Never got a call back. She tells me I'm good to still drive it while it's expired because I already paid for the plates. I try calling again and they said the wait time is under 10 minutes. Then it went up to 20, 30, and then over 30 minutes. I kept the phone on speaker while I was at a restaurant. Over an hour I was on hold and the call dropped. I try doing the online chat and says I have 20 people in front of me. I emailed that night with no response. I call again and this lady checks with it while I'm on the phone and tells me I can't get plates because it need a emissions test. Would have helped a couple of weeks ago. At this point my plates are expired now. She puts me on hold and contacts the BMV. She told me I could go to the license branch and get a temp sticker for a day to drive to the emissions test. She stated I could get a temp registration at the emissions test until the plates come in. Take it in for an emissions test and try and get a temp tag. The emissions say I can't get a temp tag because the State of Indiana never received the title or loan company info from Carvana. It has been over 3 weeks with expired plates. I email the emissions report with a note for someone to call me and I explain in the email what happened at the emissions place. They only respond to the email saying we got your emissions report and will start to process this. I try calling the number again and was told under 5 min wait time, I press the option for them to call back. 1 1/2 hour goes by and no call back. I call back and the automated message says they remember me and have not forgotten me and to press 1 to keep my spot inline. Wait time was under 5 mins. Never got a call for the rest of the night. In June of 2023 I purchased a 2021 Toyota from Carvana. Carvana has a 7 day return policy if you do not like the car-I thought everything was fine until about 3 weeks later when it rained and my back car door started to fill up with water! Carvana also has a warranty through SilverRock that if something happens that they will cover the damage for a 100 dollar deductible if you bring to a preferred mechanic. I brought it to one of their mechanics who immediately said that there was damage done to the back door and that it had been repaired improperly. Carvana had provided a CarFax report that showed no damage was done to the car so their CarFax is not worth anything! SilverRock then denied my claim for a new door as they said it was a cosmetic issue. How is a door filling up with water cosmetic?? Thats ok I thought-I will contact Carvana and they will surely stand behind their car. Well think again- I went round and round with Spencer who kept repeating the fact that Silverock was their trusted partner and then finally got on with someone from their leadership team named Stephanie who actually implied that I caused the damage to the door and that they can't do anything to make it right because the seventh day had past. She said it wasn't their fault that the CarFax report didn't show that there was an accident! So I guess I have to pay $1800 for a new door to get replaced or when winter comes the water will soak inside and freeze causing further damage. What a trash site. Delayed the delivery of my car for a week. Originally stated the car would be delivered on the 20th. Then delayed it to the 27th. I'm moving cross country and needed to be out the 25th. I spoke to 5 different representatives and they told me if I drove down there on the 20th to sign the registration they don't see why I wouldn't have my car by the 22nd or 23rd. I call the 22nd and 23rd say the car is ready to go all the papers are signed it's at the location yet the supervisor hasn't respond to any of the emails that the 5 different representatives had emailed him about my situation. Customer service reps were nice BUT THE SUPERVISORS CANT RESPOND TO ONE DAMN EMAIL. Honestly fuck this company. My experience was with Carvana Tempe, Arizona. But the review link in my e-mail brings me to the one for Chicago as a Carvana Tempe is listed on Yelp. Anyhow, my experience so far is good. When I first started the process I tried linking from CapitalOne pre-qualified auto website and experienced some issues. So tried through Carvana financing and was approved. I started my car buying process through their finance company and completed the order. I wanted to see if CapitalOne had better interest rates so after dealing with a rude employee of theirs I called in and they created an IT ticket to help resolve the linking issue so I could change the financing through CapitalOne. Someone called me back and walked through completing that process with me only to find out CapitalOnes terms were less appealing than Carvanas for me, so we reversed the process again and I went back through Carvana with the same interest rate and terms I had previously chose. So the car pickup date was pushed out an additional 4 days but that was expected since I'm the one who changed the processes a couple of times. The day the car. No additional delays experienced for any fault of Carvana. When I picked up the car, I was immediately notified by the associate that their was a leak in the windshield he discovered while detailing the vehicle but he placed an order for repair and I would get an email from Silver rock to schedule a date for repair at no cost to me. So I was ok with taking it and can confirm I did get the email for repair. So I take the car home, it was a beautiful cadillac suv by the way. The pictures didn't do it justice. Anyway, upon inspecting the car I discovered the whole underside of the car was covered in rust that in some sections had already eaten through parts of the frame. I was so sad to see that but remembered you can exchange a car or cancel an order within the 7 days. I also forgot to mention I traded in a car I owned that was paid off with no lies and that was a smooth process. Anyway, I called silver Rock to explain the rust and find out if I could get it repaired under the 7 day warranty. The associates response wasn't satisfactory as I was told I'd have to have it inspected by a mechanic who would get approval from Carvana rlto repair it, upon submitting photos and making a professional opinion on only doing so if it would compromise structural integrity. No ok. Now I'll own some of this because the Carfax report showed the car spent most of its time in the northeast and Midwest regions. That should have been a red flag. However this also should have been caught at the very least during Carvanas touted 150-point inspection. I first spotted it while kneeling down inspecting the front tires and saw the whole shock and housing had a thick coating of rust. I then put my cell phone on a selfish stick and ran it along the under carriage of the car to record all of the rust. So it was more than oversight and admittedly made me contemplate just getting my car back and writing off this whole process. There was nothing wrong with my car, I'd just always wanted a Cadillac. Anyway, I decided to just swap it, immediately found another Cadillac with California and Arizona history and contacted Carvana to help me swap it. It was really fast and the associate helped me lock the other car I wanted and finish the ordering process. The other car actually had less miles, was the upgraded premium package and had no delivery fee but cost an additional 2k but no problem. I grounded the car I kept in my possession until the date I was scheduled to pick up the new car. Wheb I arrived the swap was pretty seemless. I immediately started checking for rust and other things that may not have been mentioned and so far everything is going well. I'm now out of my 7 day test period, so im definitely keeping it and still taking it to my mechanic when he gets back in town so I can catch anything if it needs to be covered under the 100 day warranty. But I like this suv much more than the first and aside from a few hiccups, the process wasn't too bad. read more
