There is one main reason that I'm leaving 2 and not just no stars and the deserving out of this group would get 5 stars; However, this experience landed this. I work 70 -120 hrs a week as a paramedic, have for 8.5 years at the same company. I've cleared more money than the highest paid Fire Chief in the state of Texas due to my ability of burnout due to the lack of medics since Covid. I provided 2 years worth of taxes to prove income, a 8month track of bank statements, 8.5 years worth of pay stubs. all to get told by one of the underwriters that I didn't make enough money. Not only did I argue with this guy. He told me my math was wrong. Though let me state, basing income on a new wage set at the beginning of the year doesn't create enough time for adjustment on proving income. So his math was wrong. I fought for 3.5 hrs to get the car I wanted, I got slammed with a mass interest rate, high ass payments, and poor customer service when I make enough to buy a dang Ducati! I was treated poorly and unfairly, I fought for myself that's the only way that I got what I put in for. I even went as far as asking them if they had an opening for a customer advocate. I'm writing this as a warning to anyone considering Carvana with a trade-in that has negative equity. I purchased a vehicle from Carvana and financed through my own lender (USAA). I traded in a vehicle that was upside down, with the negative equity rolled into the transaction -- which I fully understood and accepted at the time of purchase. However, shortly after delivery, the vehicle exhibited a material mechanical defect that was not disclosed. I immediately notified Carvana and requested a return within their return window, which Carvana agreed to. Here is where the process completely broke down: Although the vehicle was returned, Carvana had already paid off my prior lender as part of the trade-in. Carvana is now attempting to leave me responsible for approximately $8,000 in unsecured negative equity for a vehicle I no longer own -- despite the return being caused by an undisclosed defect. Front-line representatives repeatedly fell back on "as-is" language, despite Carvana advertising a return policy and limited warranty that clearly contemplate defects. Requests for a full financial unwind and executive-level review were met with resistance and circular arguments, even after escalation. To be clear: I am not disputing that negative equity existed. I am disputing being left with unsecured debt after a transaction that was rescinded due to a vehicle not as described. Carvana's return process is marketed as simple and consumer-friendly, but that promise does not hold up when a trade-in with negative equity is involved. Customers are not adequately warned that returning a defective vehicle can still leave them with thousands of dollars of debt and no car. I am currently awaiting executive resolution. Until this is resolved, I cannot recommend Carvana to anyone trading in a vehicle with an existing loan. read more

Carvana support has been solid. buying my car not so much. The first car smelled so strong of cigarettes it burned my nose and had major mechanical issues. The return was so easy so maybe a one off. The replacement car I love it but 12 hours later check engine light is on. They repaired it under warranty but now 2 more days pass and it's back on. Its super frustrating but I am hopeful they will fully repair it this time Revised my review unfortunately not for the better. I've now had the car for 2 weeks. The car is back in the shop for the 3rd time and this time it's a blown head gasket. My daughter bought a Jeep Wrangler and had it shipped to her for $1900 to find out it was a piece of junk. When it came to a stop it would pull to the right and there was this rubber burning smell that was intense. She took it into Pep Boys, which Carvana recommended. They told her it was pulling to the right because the left front brake line was non existing and the smell was because the tire was rubbing up on something. They said who ever put the lift kit on it did a poor job and they couldn't fix the rubbing and brake line for the way it was lifted. They also said that it was full of rust. That the rust was all along the bottom of the car and in the engine compartment. They recommended that she return the car since it was still in the 7 day return policy. She returned it and they cut her a check for the $14000 she put down but would not return the shipping fee of $1900. How did this car pass their multi point inspection and test drive with no front left brake line and the tire rubbing? Pep Boys and we can not understand how. So beware of Carvana. You're taking a chance of getting a lemon. We thought they were legit especially since they have representatives like Shaquille O'Neal promoting them. Never again will we use them or refer them. My daughter could have been extremely hurt or hurt somebody else without the brakes working properly. With the tire rubbing against metal it could have blew and caused an accident too. read more

Customer service was polite but powerless -- endless apologies, no real solutions. Meanwhile, the clock kept ticking. The return window closed, and so did any meaningful support. For a company that spends millions marketing convenience and customer obsession, the lack of accountability at the leadership level is stunning. When something goes wrong, you're not dealing with innovation -- you're dealing with a wall of scripted responses and silence. Buying a car is one of the biggest purchases most people make. Carvana treated it like a disposable Amazon order -- except you can't just drop it at Whole Foods when they stop responding. If everything goes perfectly, I'm sure it's great. Ill start off positive. The customer service is top tier, pleasant and helpful team. Now for the big one. My car is broken! Ive had it for 7 days 4 of those its been bouncing between shops​ getting inspected waiting to see who the warranty company will let fix my car. The 101 point insoection that is supposedly done some how missed that both lower control arms are needing to be replaced, there is some kind of sensor that needs to be replaced (the safety features in the car won't work until it's fixed) as well as the former owners of the car smoked in it. None of this was disclosed. Who ever detailed the car basically vacuumed the inside and cleaned the outside glass and body. There is crud at the hinges of the rear hatch, all around the rim of the moon roof, and basically everywhere that the weather sealer is. read more

Cars are sold in shockingly poor condition. They claim a rigorous 150-point inspection, yet somehow missed major oil and fuel leaks-serious issues that should never be overlooked. Unless you enjoy spending more time at the dealership than on the road, this is the place for you. The ONLY pro is a three-month warranty, but it doesn't redeem the experience. I don't recommend it. Well, I have to update my original review. I spent all week trying to get the proper paperwork. The vehicle I chose is really nice....it is wonderful. The problem is getting information from car and. I was stopped for no inspection sticker. I checked the car and it ensure, then ended up texting with the helpdesk. I was told I needed to take the car in for inspection, then submit the receipt for reimbursement. So I got the vehicle inspected, but wasn't able to get the sticker because I didn't have the full registration yet. I went to txdmv.gov....its not ready. I called dmv and was told car and had the sticker. I called car and, only to receive automated messages and was told to text. I texted caravan help and was sent yet again in circles. Then was told the vehicle was inspected a day before I picked it up, so they wouldn't reimburse me. So....today is my day 7 and I am returning the vehicle. I hope not everyone goes through this, but apparently I was not given the "sales package", which means I'd need to eat for approximately 54 days to get the registration and inspection (I would need to request and pay for a replacement). So...I'm not too pleased right now. I'll be looking for a new vehicle this weekend. Ugh So disappointed. HOWEVER - they are honoring the 7-day trial period for returns. That is good. read more

I boufgt a 2023 Ford Bronco,The experience was okay, but they had it listed in the description as a Hardtop and delivered a softtop, which is doable but for future buyers just be aware that there really is no way that I found to contact carvana to verify details. When I finally did get a hold of someone it was "Well mistakes happen, sorry. If you want to trade it in or cancel you have 7 days" Very lackluster customer service, I will refininace as soon as I can so carvana gets as little interest off the loan as possible. The vehicle itself is acceptable, and they did give me an extremely good deal on my trade, so there is that. But all in all, would I use them again? No. They served their purpose to meet my needs for the most part but I would not recommend unless unless you can get a hold of them and verify that what they are selling you is what you are actually looking at. As far as the Bronco goes, I like it and will eventually get an aftermarket hard top for it. Bottom line, I think they practice deceptive marketing and would not recommend if you have other options. read more

They then wanted me to fund the purchase and I haven't even seen the vehicle lol. Who does that? They must really be desperate. The absolute worst car buying experience I have ever been a part of. Car bought, contracts signed, insurance put on vehicle - the whole 9 May 4the and 5th. "Get it by May 10th" is what we were told. May 9th comes - we were delayed. No information as to why. I tried chatting with an 'advocate', who was short and abruptly ended the chat. I called and spoke to a nice woman who told me it was a 'cosmetic issue'. No further info. I asked, "what wasn't disclosed? Like a house, don't you have to disclose major issues or get reported to the AG?" No info. We go ahead and sign the new contracts and wait. Our new date - May 16th. I take off of work for that day. We get everything ready to go. May 15th, I get a text saying "we're on track" and to get everything ready. We do. At 2am, I get an email saying we were delayed again. No explanation. New date, May 22nd. I read over the contracts again. I notice that the website/app shows 83k miles on the vehicle. Weird, because I distinctly remember 82k. It's verified on my original contract. I call. It takes me 2 people to find out they say they "don't have a key to the vehicle". That's a lie, I say. I ask how they moved the vehicle. No answer. I get set up with the "Executive Resolutions Team". I am told it was, indeed, the key was gone. Interesting, since I know for a verified fact it takes 20-30 minutes (max 45) to flash a new key fob. Less than an hour is now costing me another week. The ERT guy says, "the mileage is due to test driving and running it through our inspections". I ask, "do y'all do those just prior to getting it ready to go?" "Yes," he says. "Now, I want you to follow me here - wouldn't you need a KEY to be able to do all of that?" "Yes", was all he would say. I have paid delivery fees. I have paid the additional fees to have it brought to my home. I have been approved for the loan. I have paid a down payment, which wasn't required. I put it on my insurance, where it had now been for 2 weeks - no car. Through no fault of my own - Carvana has made this a horrible experience. This is an understatement - as the words to describe how truly bad this is, don't exist. The advocate assigned to me by the ERT was supposed to call me today (May 17) at 13:00, my time. He did not. I gave him an hour and then called. I spoke to someone else who wanted me to relay the story again. I refused to. I have told it to at least 8-10 of their people. They need to take better notes. They need to communicate better. Just so everyone is aware, the contract states "delivery dates are estimates...". It is in small print, at the bottom of one of the innocuous pages. I have very vocally informed them that that does not hold up. It is not anywhere on their website or app. A reasonable person would have a reasonable expectation that "Get it by Monday", would mean you are getting it by Monday barring extenuating circumstances (torrential rains and hail, tornados, etc). As a matter of fact, Amazon just had something similar go down with them in the past year or so. I located and began writing the CEO, and will continue to do so. I did the same thing to Home Depot a couple of years ago when they refused to help with something they sold. Eventually, the problem was handled - but I had to fight for it. I have written a review similar to this for the BBB of Tarrant County. I have made posts on X, TikTok, and Facebook. I will continue to do so. This has been an epic failure. I am not the only one this has happened to, either. Others have told me how they have done the same thing to them - delaying in some case for two months and holding on to their money. Do not purchase a vehicle from this Carvana. I received my car with damage that was not listed anywhere on the listing nor in the photos. They placed after market brake pads and rotors on the vehicle, which can not be done with some luxury cars. The car sounds terrible when running due to this issue. The warranty sounds great, right? WRONG! They do not cover anything and basically say tough luck! So, do yourself a favor and take your business elsewhere. read more

We've never tried something like this before. There are very few decent used cars in our area, so we were prepared to drive three hours to Dallas to drive around several dealerships there. On a whim, I decided to check out Carvana - and found a great deal on a used Honda CRV with low mileage. We don't know yet how well the CRV will perform over time, but our car buying experience with Carvana was great. It was exciting to see the van rolling up with our "new" car on it. The guy who delivered it was super nice as well. The only down side I could see was that Carvana does not let you have co-owners. We were able to get both of our names (my husband's and mine) on the financing and registration only because we financed through our credit union.
