This carvel has like nothing on the menu and I ordered carvel ice cream cake flavor with a topping on cookie dough and they gave me cookie dough ice cream. Not what I ordered. I recommend going to DQ or the west palm carvel. read more

Ice cream! Carvel is one of those old-line ice cream places that has been in business since the late 40's... good for them! In any case, there is this location sitting in Boynton Beach and is the perfect place to duck in to on a hot summer day with the kids. This store has a variety of offerings: hand scooped ice creams, soft serve ice cream, pre-made ice cream cakes and flying saucers. I believe they even make custom cakes if needed. In our case, we wanted something cool and opted for a variety of scooped and soft serves in various sized cups. There are both paper and waffle-cone type cups available, or you can also choose a traditional ice cream cone to hold your treat. There are plenty of toppings available and the end result was four happy campers. There are some tables available for you to plop down and eat. The store appeared to be clean and brightly lit. There are a variety of ice cream flavors and ice cream cakes to choose from. The amount of ice cream they serve is pretty generous even for a junior cup. The ice creams were all creamy and flavorful. I stopped in last night 9/8 around 9:30. There was 5-6 elderly women who stopped in before me. As they ladies left they said bye to the staff. One staff member decided to say bye, then she said in a softer voice "don't ever come back". I stood there with a complete look of disgust. Negative reviews are not my thing and this Carvel just broke every customer service bone in my body...and I have a lot. My wife gave me a frequent buyer card that I thought was complete. It was a little key chain card. No store indication or restrictions other than soft serve only. I have a few minutes break from work so I run over to this store, 5 minutes from work. Only customer and I ask for my sundae. Response: "That's not our card we have a different kind." That's it. End of conversation. Once my stunned reaction wears off I order a small cup because I have no time to get to another shop and once I am set on ice cream... I pay for the ice cream and ask him to stamp the card and he says he can't because it isn't from their store! (NOTE: yes, the card had one punch left on it which I only realized after he had rejected it. Now mad and embarrassed). I am a BIG ice cream eater. And a former ice cream shop owner. You rejected a customer because you would have to give away maybe $1.50 in costs! Suggestion. If that is so important you could have apologized for having to reject the card and offered me a sundae at half off. You would have made some profit even and more importantly I would have been annoyed but appreciative. It builds good will (review would be different) and I would have been back. This location has despicable business practices. They arbitrarily added a tip to my credit card after they provided me with the receipt. The receipt shows the charge that I wanted to pay, but when they posted the transaction to the bank, suddenly there was a tip added. That is very sneaky. Fortunately, Discover made good on the money, and I left them to address the issue with the franchise owner, I will never patronize this location ever again, and I advise anyone who does, pay only in cash so they won't cheat you, and count your change. read more

My family and I consistently order carvel cakes and have been at this location several times. The last couple cakes were not made exactly how ordered but it wasn't a huge deal, mainly missing some decorations on top they seem to forget sometimes. But this time we had ordered a medium cake initially and decided to change it to a small the next day to be picked up 5 days later so plenty of notice was given. The website allows customers to change their order before a cake has been made so we updated the order and received a new alert. We also showed a refund already for the bigger cake. When I went to pick up the cake the guy working there said he was calling all morning because he received 2 cake orders the same and was checking to see if we wanted both. I didn't get the calls he was calling my mom but still was quite rude about it to me. I explained the website allowed us to cancel and there must be a miscommunication but either way he had only made the one smaller cake which was fine and no time or ingredients were wasted because he never made the bigger cake that was canceled anyway. It was also quiet in there he wasn't helping other customers. An ice cream shop should be a happy environment will likely try another location or store next time. read more

We used to go there all the time, in the evening. Carvel is such a nice nostalgic dessert. We eat out a lot and pass Carvel on the way home. But I went in for two medium cups of vanilla and the swirl barely passed the top of the cup. I asked the girl if she knew what a medium was, and she said yes. The second cup was the same but loose and kinda watery. Well, she is probably new, I thought. Then we went there a second time and ordered two medium cups of vanilla and the same thing. The cups weren't even completely filled, I could see the bottom of the cup and the swirl, was no swirl. It just stopped at the top of the cup. I would not pay for them and walked out. We will not return and it is a shame. (Also, it was quiet and yet the area containing the toppings was a mess.) read more

I grew up having Carvel on special occasions, elementary school graduations and family functions (cakes). So like most people, I love it. This store is usually superb, and the kids working there are super sweet. My son and I go in at least once a week. The most recent visit though, must be a new employee who wasn't very friendly and if I didn't tell her to charge me properly I would've been overcharged. She didn't listen well enough and messed up my order. Forgivable, but disappointing. I spend a lot of money there and I expect decent customer service from stores selling non necessity products or any store for that matter. I think that's an issue most consumers have in retail stores. You just don't feel like they care if you patronize their establishment or not and that's sad, but it's the world we live in. read more

Very friendly staff & super clean. Wed is Sundae @ Carvel. Buy one Sundae & get one free. I'll be there every Wed until my pants don't fit. I love carvel so much so when this place opened I bought an ice cream cake. There happened to be a coupon at the bottom for $3 off my next cake. The store would not honor the coupon unless I got a 10'' cake or bigger. I told them the occasion and that we did not need that big of a cake and they still wouldn't honor it. I left very unhappy with the customer service, as I am a manager at a store and go above and beyond to make sure my customers are happy even if it means taking $3 off a graduation cake.
