Had a really nice night up here after a day at the pool. The restaurant is really pretty with great views from their patio. The food and drinks were really good. I started with a whiskey sour and ended with a Pinot Grigio. I started off with a very filling lobster bisque that is really quite creamy. They brought out snacking breads that were just ok but I favorited their giant sesame cracker over the muffin and sweet pretzel style bread. I split the seafood tower with friends which was priced at market prices so for $74 we were all really quite full and didn't even spend that much on seafood. The prawns were humongous and quite good. The restaurant lacks the feeling of coziness and could use some type of treatment on the huge bare windows...table and seating were fine..wait staff, (Julia) was also very good! We ordered the seafood tower which was delicious..oysters, lobster, shrimp, clams,mussels, caviar..it was great! Main course was a Filet Mignon and Prawns which were delicious and well prepared..overall, it was expensive, but enjoyable. Very very disappointing! This is not characteristic of the other McGills in Tulsa. The name should be removed. Rude staff, poor service with lots of excuses for poor quality food. Been 3x before shows at the Joint and each McGills experience was more disheartening. read more

So I will start by saying that the food was great! I was staying at a nearby hotel on a business trip and ate at McGills twice. Our group of 5 was seated promptly and our drink order was taken immediately . . . This is where the problem was. All 5 of us are bourbon drinkers. The bourbon selection was good and we all ordered EH Taylor. I normally order my bourbon neat but one of our party inquired if they had the large, cubes or round, ice. The server aid they did so all 5 of us ordered with the large cube. We all had 2 rounds with 2 individuals having 3. Here comes the surprise. When we got the bill at the end of the meal they charged $4.00 for large ice cube. Maybe that's a thing but I didn't know it. I have been a long time bourbon drinker and up until this point I haven't been charged for ice in a drink. So I paid the bill which was 2 appetizers, 3 filets, 2 ribeyes and assorted sides AND $48 of ice. As stated food was great, service was good but server should of told us about the ice charge. We were staying at the hotel, so we didn't want to travel anywhere. Food did not disappoint. The service was great. Steak and sides were delicious and they had a decent wine list. We shared a steak and had the option to pay for an additional sweet potato and veggies. Really nice to offer that. The windows in the girls bathroom are pretty sweet! read more

The food was definitely a 1 star. However, giving 2 stars instead for presentation and great service! Disappointed in most food items. I ordered the risotto with lump crab meat, and the lobster bisque. $34 - Really? The lobster bisque was entirely too salty, and the Risotto was hard and bland. I've had better lobster bisque at Nordstrom cafe. I don't order risotto too often, but after this restaurant I'll probably stay away from it all together. The bread was pretty flavorless, as was the whipped butter. I think it was whipped butter?! I also had a side of a coworkers Mac n cheese truffle. I've had $1 boxes of Mac n cheese that were better. This place is amazing! I'm not usually a person that goes to fancy places but I'm going to go back if I ever have the chance. The atmosphere is beautiful with a pretty view. We went on a night that wasn't as crowded so we got plenty of time with our waitress who was amazing. She would answer all our questions and had us laughing. The food was so good. Hubs and I went for our wedding anniversary and this place did NOT disappoint. We were a little early and they got us promptly seated in a booth. The service was unprecedented and couldn't have asked for anything better. Now the food. We had the shrimp cocktail, wedge salad, crab cake, steak and sides. Everything was perfect. And the chocolate cake, oh my. We are kinda food snobs and fell in love with this place. We will be back for sure Also, very reasonable priced food and wine. There are a few good things about this restaurant. The food is delicious and it's a pretty restaurant. We went on a Wednesday night after a concert (shortly before closing) and everyone was friendly and seated us right away. Problems: 1. I don't mind paying for good food, but this is still a bit over priced. 2. While the waitress was friendly, I believe she purposely "left out details" to inflate the check, which in turn, would inflate her tip. She did this, not once, but twice. When I brought it to her attention she blew me off. Example #1: I ordered a glass of Pinot Grigo. I pointed at the menu, when I ordered it. She brought me a different glass of wine that was twice as much, but didn't tell me. I only found out when I got the bill. Example #2: I ordered a filet. Now there are at LEAST two different filets on the menu. I specified (and pointed once again) to the smallest filet, because I'm watching my portion sizes. She clarified, "the petite filet?", it said "light" on the menu, but I figured, that was just another way to say it so I said "yes". Turns out, there must be three filets on the menu (one being invisible), because I got charged double the amount for the "petite" filet. When I asked her about it, she said that was the one I ordered. Bottom Line: The food was good, but I don't appreciate the "assumptive close" used by the staff. It's not good business to trick your customers into paying more than they intend. I would not go back here and would not recommend. I always tip at least 20%, even when the service is marginal because I've been a server before, but this waitress did not deserve it. Hope she used her 10% tip to buy a conscience. read more

Another update! My dad and his girlfriend came into town tonight from Texas, and they had my grandma from Florida with them - I was completely surprised! My dad texted my brother (still works at McGill's) and asked if we could get a table tonight after 9. Got there and waited a bit for a table to come available - they were packed so that was understandable. Great server this time! Drinks stayed filled and he put up with our antics. Amazing lemon sorbet palate cleanser and delicious bread basket! I ordered the sea bass (again) and so did my dad's girlfriend and my grandma. They loved it, it was cooked perfectly! My dad ordered a filet (cooked Pittsburg with bernaise sauce and oscar style - he just had to be complicated) and he said it was cooked perfectly and exactly what he wanted. He ordered scalloped potatoes as his side, and they were pretty amazing. Smoked Gouda and jack cheese (?) make up this masterpiece. Glad he got some so everyone could sample them. Everyone was super happy with their meal. This place keeps getting better with every visit. read more

We went to check out the possibility of a wedding rehearsal dinner. This is definitely not the place for that type of event. For the price, I would want my guests to be absolutely impressed. We were not impressed. There are several restaurants in Tulsa that have them beat. The crab cakes were unimpressive. Too much breading. The caesar salad was drenched in dressing. There is a balcony where you can have a pre meal cocktail, walk around and enjoy the views. The view is pretty incredible. We (a party of 4) ordered the seafood tower. Jumbo shrimp, blue point oysters, and 2 split crab legs. The shrimp were decent. The oysters were the smallest blue points I've ever seen served at a restaurant. Tiny, too salty and not so fresh. The halved crab legs were so chilled they were almost frozen through. The two waitresses serving us were pretty lackluster. Their ability to suggest items from the menu was nonexistent. An overall pretty flat demeanor. I ordered an 8oz filet, medium rare and blackened (aka black and blue but slightly less rare). Sure enough, it was medium rare, but not only was it lacking the charred crust, there was absolutely no sear on the outside. It almost looked like it had been baked rather than grilled. My first bite of it and all I could taste was salt. The steak is the focal point for a place like this and this was the worst part of the meal. We ate pretty early, around 5PM, so we were the only people in the place. It took a really, really long time to get our food out. Maybe an hour until we had our main course. Pretty poor. We ordered cheesecake, key lime pie, chocolate cake, and did the table share routine. Maybe I was preparing myself for disappointment due to the previous courses, but the cheesecake was actually really good. The chocolate cake was good, so massive it could have fed 4 people by itself. The key lime pie was overly sweet and tart. It is convenient if you are staying at the hotel, but there are so many significantly better options in a 15-20 minute drive radius. read more

Super hilarious to get to (smoky OK casino vibes). However once you're in it really feels like the "high life" of Tulsa. I'm vegan and the chef was SUPER accommodating. The meal he threw together was fantastic, beer selection was fine and my guests were impressed. For a high end place it's way out of downtown but a great place to meet fam on the east side. $$$$ four dollar signs, be prepared to drop $100 easy. My new favorite fancy restaurant. Prices are high and so were my expectations. I was thoroughly pleased. The service and the view of Tulsa were impeccable. First, we ordered the firecracker chicken. Top notch bacon wrapped chicken and jalapeños. It was to die for. Then they brought out bread which was meh - would've rather not wasted the space in my belly on the bread. Next, they brought out a dollop of sorbet which was tasty. My main course was the ribeye with creamy garlic mashed potatoes. The steak was tender and so flavorful that I didn't need any steak sauce. My husband and I dine here for special occasions. We've always experienced excellent service and the food has a wonderful taste and presentation. My go to items are shrimp and steak. This establishment tends to cater to a slower more relaxed experience so plan to be there a couple of hours. My only issue is the elevator ride (yes I'm afraid of heights). Just had dinner here since we are staying at the Hard Rock Hotel. The wait staff was very pleasant and efficient. I have to say the food was mediocre at best. Lobster Mac and cheese was $12 and tasteless. The wedge salad had Roquefort dressing that was tasteless. My husband ordered the Steak Diane and there was so much Worcestershire sauce that it was almost inedible. I had the sea bass special with risotto. It was okay but nothing spectacular. This was a wonderful experience! We made reservations for a birthday celebration and were seated instantly upon arriving. The view doesn't feel like you're in Tulsa. Started out with crab cakes for our appetizer... such good flavor and loaded with crab meat! Then, we had a salad with lobster bisque, which was accompanied with a bread basket with a variety of style breads. Definitely recommend the lobster bisque if you're really hungry, because the dinner plates are full of food! I had a 12 oz filet with the mashed potatoes and he had a 20 oz ribeye with sweet potato, both plates also come with some vegetables. Both ordered rare and mine seared, but I would go with the ribeye next time. It had so much flavor and was extremely juicy! We also added the lobster Mac and cheese. Whew, this side was loaded with lobster meat. Worth the extra money to add it, it also has a good kick to it with the green chilies. Saving room for dessert, we ordered the 19 layer chocolate cake. We had a few bites and took it home, being so full from the rest of the meal. This was such a great experience, the food was very tasty, and the service was excellent!! Do not waste your money. We had a reservation made a week in advance. At 25 mins past the reservation time we were told there were 4 parties still ahead of us. Tables in the bar were all dirty, chairs were very uncomfortable. When I asked what the hold up was I was told that VIPs & walk-ins were seated ahead of us. Now the review goes south... we ordered the med rare Australian wag-yu ribeye... the sides were room temp and not tasty at all... the steak, while the flavor was good, the meat was chewy and tough. Having eaten at the other two locations, my wife and I decided to try McGills on 19, located within the Hard Rock Casino on the 19th floor. The ambience is very pleasing and the patio view provides a panoramic view the area. We were excited to see a more refined menu compared to the other two McGills, featuring prime beef as well as Australian Wagyu for two. We started with the lobster bisque and as you would expect, a complimentary bread basket. The bisque was just the right temperature and had a very smooth and creamy texture with a surprise chunk of lobster. We found it to be OK but noted it was a bit fishy, taste and smell. For the main course, we went all in with the 32 oz Australian Wagyu Bone-in Ribeye for two, prepared medium rare minus. Our sides included spaghetti squash and potatoes au-gratin. The steak was perfectly prepared and as we expected, delivered a very rich flavor and as tender as a fine prime steak. Don't get me wrong, it didn't stand up to the Japaneese Wagyu we've had on a few occasions, but that's not a fair basis of comparison. The au-gratin potatoes would stand up against any that I've had with a very balanced smoke and cheesy flavor. Finally, service...simply second to none. Not overbearing but very attentive and professional. I didn't factor in price as one should expect to pay more than you would at a typical chop house.
