The food was decent, but at these prices it should be "WOW!" The potato soup was okay - a little garlicky. The filet was good, but not great. I get better steaks at Outback and Texas Roadhouse. Their bread is basically a brown and serve dinner roll. Our waitress was very nice, and ambiance is pretty cool - old vintage oil field theme and decor. Rolls are served in old metal lunchboxes much like a roughneck would have with him from days gone by. From the moment we drove up to The Spudder Restaurant, I could tell we were going to have a good time! The restaurant is a little hidden, but definitely worth turning into what looked like a residential area. The outside of the building was interesting looking and there was a huge piece of equipment right outside their door. We walked in and were greeted warmly and enthusiastically by two members of their staff and one of them quickly ushered us to a comfortable booth. Looking around, their cool, retro oil company decor was everywhere and entertained us, bringing back memories from long ago. I wish I could recall our kind and cheerful waitress. She is the one whom we told at that moment we had been married 47 years, 4 months, 4 days, 8 hours and 1 minute. Anyway, she took great care of us all evening. Their menu was varied enough that we all got exactly what we wanted. My Better-half got one of their beef filet dinners. I wasn't too hungry so I chose 3 of their appetizers. The crab cakes were very well seasoned and quite good and although I am used to crab cakes with more crab, I enjoyed them. I also ordered their stuffed mushrooms and their fried chicken livers, both prepared well and, again, seasoned well. Our other fellow diner ordered their tomato soup. I had a spoonful of it and it was the best tomato soup I've ever had, including my own recipe. My Better- half and I both took home doggy bags, promising to buy a dog on the way home. We had a great experience there and left full and happy. Next time we are in Tulsa, we will definitely stop in for another good meal. Bonus! I also learned what Spudder was! I was excited to come here for my father in laws birthday dinner; I got the baby back ribs (I thought they must be good) boy was I wrong the smell alone made me not want to eat it; I have Ms so I have an issue chewing sometimes, was too tough for me to eat and barely any bbq it's like it was put on when I ordered vs being marinated and cooked low for hours I'm going to try to make them edible at home. Husband ended up getting a prime rib was decent I choked on it but the salad was good but real start in my opinion was loaded potato; next time we're going to mahogany. We have lived here almost all of our lives and have never tried this place. On a scale of 1-10 it's a solid 5. My husband ordered the New York Strip and I had the ribeye. We were both disappointed. The steaks were thin and lacked flavor other than salt. The appetizer was room temperature at best. (Stuffed mushrooms) Our drinks were great and the potato soup was good(ish). Possibly one of the best fillets I've ever had in my life. During my first trip to Oklahoma, a few people told me about the storied Spudder restaurant. I made a point of taking a few friends out to dinner there, with the hope that I wasn't making some sort of tragic culinary mistake. There was absolutely nothing to be concerned about. Spudder is the real deal: a nice, low-key, high quality steakhouse that also serves a mean Cornish hen, according to one of my friends. The ambiance is a hoot, and the service was superb. Overall a very good meal. I found the bread in the lunch pail very endearing. Bonus points for it being Peanuts. The Caesar salad was fantastic. We'd probably skip the ribs next time- they were a bit tough. Steaks were both cooked great. Yes! We had a party of 5, our waitress was terrific, food was spot on, the server even bagged our leftovers. I had the salmon and their famous tomato soup. Highly recommend! I came from BENTONVILLE to see Clint Black at the casino tonight. Came in for dinner and shared the beef tips with the hubby! It was plenty!!! Oh I thought I'd already reviewed... Ehem, anyway. I had called ten other restaurants in Tulsa to ask what kind of oil is used for their fries. They were all saying, "soybean, soy, vegetable, canola." I cannot eat any of those anymore. Dr. Paul Saladino MD explained how toxic those oils are. I called this place and they said, "Tallow oil!" I was so excited. The owner was there and he was very nice and professional. He explained that using real oil, saves him thousands every year. He keeps vegetable oil just in case of emergency but hasn't had to use it for years. That's really respectable because vegetable oil is toxic in my opinion. This place is modeled after all the oil drilling companies in Oklahoma. They have signs, oil drilling machines, and many different representations of many of the gas stations that have been in Oklahoma. Some have passed on. Some are still current. Come here to see the oil industry decor and have a great, healthy meal! Thanks y'all! I'll probably be back more often for healthy frying oils! read more

I came here with a large group last week for a business event. The staff was super accommodating. We had a group of 15 and three servers tag teaming our table. I eat out a lot for business and was very impressed at the teamwork displayed by the staff. The manager came by three times to chit chat and tell jokes, not your regular checkin to see how things are going. Most of the table had steak, all of us where externally happy with our meal. I was really surprised to see chicken livers on the menu. Not something I have seen in a restaurant in decades. The prices were also very affordable, surprisingly so. Excellent job guys ! read more

I ordered the ribeye which comes with bread, potato soup, a house salad and a side of fries or baked potato. Here's some of my thoughts broken down: - the potato soup is not baked potato soup as expected--yet somehow, it's better. Creamy, garlicky and absolutely delicious. - the ranch and the blue cheese dressings are absolutely fantastic. I used both to dip my fries in and drenched my salad in the ranch - amazing! -the steak had a solid grill line and a superb flavor profile. We recently visited the Spudder for a birthday celebration. We started the evening with an appetizer of Ahi Tuna which was okay but dry like it had sat for a while before being served. That should have been a clue for the rest of the evening. Next we ordered a 16 oz KC Strip, a 14 oz ribeye, and the "gusher" which is their 22 oz bone-in ribeye. Each coming with potato soup, salad, and baked potato or fries. The potato soup was in need of flavor and served lukewarm at best. The salad was obviously fresh from the walk-in with wilted lettuce and vegetables. The baked potato came with the steak and was warmer than the steak itself. The steak was cold to the touch and was sent back to the kitchen. The steaks were obviously just thrown back on the grill to warm them up which resulted in them being dry and overcooked. Oh, where do I begin? We called around 5 p.m. to make a reservation. After speaking with an employee who had the manners of a pirate, a reservation for 7:30 p.m. was confirmed. My party of four arrived early and were seated immediately, as there were at most four occupied tables the entire visit. Our server, Erin, was rather sour from the start. We ordered our food within 10 minutes of being seated. Miss Erin's attitude only continued to sour as this experience progressed. After a 50-minute wait from the time of ordering, our food arrived lukewarm, with a side of condescension and a heaping basket of crassness. Based on the tragic excuse for tomato soup and the obscene Caesar salad, I had low expectations for the pork tenderloin, and rightfully so. Once she dropped off the slop, it was as if Miss Erin fell off the face of the earth despite the vacancy of this underwhelming establishment. With 15 minutes till close, our waitress decided it appropriate to ask us if we needed boxes as none of us had eaten even half of the entrees we ordered. After another 5 minutes of our lives squandered in this hellscape, my card was returned. No thank you or have a good night. She just waddled off into the distance. Rude waitress/ bartender. She is not a hostess. Steaks came out cold the 1st time then they reheated a medium rare steak which now became well done not to mention the no knives to cut the food my 16oz steak was smaller than the 12oz those were $50 each- not to mention the 22oz gusher that was $74 looked more like a 16oz steak all over cooked and cold, wilted lettuce on the salads extremely dry tuna as an appetizer. Had they came back and checked on us after bringing us our food and dumping it and running off. I would have sent it back. The potato soup that was pretty gross. Chunks of old potatoes, an off brand can soup with water would have tasted a lot better. Sad spending $250.00 on dinner just to go across the street to taco bueno should say something. On a positive note the secondary staff bus boys did an amazing job very good at paying attention. Too bad the rest of the staff wasn't like that. We arrived @ 7:30, and had a short 10-15 minute wait. Waitress, was sweet. Service was slow but efficient. The food was not my favorite. I ordered my steak "blue rare." They did an excellent job! HOWEVER, I ordered it without spices and seasonings. It came with so much salt on it, I could barely eat it. My guest didn't have the same dietary requirements but he agreed, his steak was too salty. He had the ribeye and I had the filet. I ordered the risotto. Again, too much salt AND GARLIC. He loves garlic and said he couldn't taste anything but GARLIC.
