We reserved the Rio Vista suite along with the attached beach bungalow so each had our own rooms downstairs. The back slider opened onto a sandy beach area with gorgeous views and a pool. We took day trips to Grass Valley and Placerville and had an amazing time. Spent the last half of our last day there sitting outside, looking at the views and enjoying the sunshine. The owners are amazing... They delivered breakfast to our doors each morning and boy were they delicious. I am definitely bringing my husband back so that he can enjoy this place and the surrounding areas as much as I did.

While it's a bit of a distance to the actual venue, it was well worth it for the quiet, calm and very relaxing environment. Beautiful property and I wish I had time to use the pool outside. We stayed in the Bella Vista honeymoon suite. I loved it. It allowed my husband and I to talk. There's a calming and clarifying vibe to the room and the place in general. Spacious, clean, and comfortable. I would stay here again if I was in the area 100%. I think about this place from time to time. I actually miss it!

Location would be great for Receptions or large family getaways, especially if you can occupy all the rooms. No real 'food' or 'drink' amenities, so bring your own. I will note, the kitchen is spacious with modern appliances. The wife & I had a great stay. I suggest searching BOOKING.com for a reservation.

The photos and room description was different depending on what site you looked at. There is a steep staircase to get up to the upper rooms so if stairs are an issue, book one of the downstairs rooms We had the Stafford suite and it was amazing. Nicely decorated and again, that bed was so so comfy. If you are under 5'8" you may need a step stool to get in the bed! It can be noisy with the freeway and train nearby but we weren't bothered by it. There is a huge fountain outside the window that helps. This would be a great place for a small wedding or family reunion... the whole place is inviting and cozy. I am sure the grounds are gorgeous in the spring! They do not offer breakfast so we brought some muffins and fruit and enjoyed our coffee in the parlor... you do have full use of the kitchen so If you want to cook, you can. The owners are very prompt to reply if you have questions and check in was a breeze! We will most definitely be back!

It's only about an hour away and just a short drive from Placerville, making it an easy escape into nature. We stayed in South Fork Cabin J, one of the resort's select pet-friendly cabins, and absolutely loved it. It was the perfect blend of camping and glamping with a fully equipped kitchenette including a stovetop, microwave, sink, toaster, dishes, and utensils, plus a private bathroom with a shower, two A/C units, and a spacious living area to relax after a day outside. My Goldendoodle, Bailey, had the best time exploring the property and curiously checking out the river. We loved relaxing in the Adirondack chairs along the water, and there was plenty of open green space along with giant chess, Connect Four, and cornhole. I also appreciated the multiple dog waste stations conveniently located throughout the resort. Check-in was incredibly easy since we arrived after 5 p.m. Our paperwork was waiting on the corkboard at the front gate, and we received our gate code by email the day before arrival. The staff were wonderful, especially Joey, the Reservations Manager, who took the time to recommend local activities, resort amenities, and nearby historical sites. The resort also has beautiful riverfront cabins and campsites, a cute camp store stocked with souvenirs, firewood, and forgotten essentials, plus a unique one-year rebooking policy that lets you reserve the same accommodation for the following year if you fall in love with your stay. We also highly recommend grabbing a coffee and a bite to eat at Argonaut Café. Overall, Coloma Resort is a beautiful, peaceful destination whether you're looking to camp, stay in a cozy cabin, or enjoy a dog-friendly weekend in nature. We can't wait to come back!

She had a mission that night, and let's just say the dealers were more than happy to accept her donations. After watching her try her luck, I figured I had to step in and see if I could change the story. A few hands of blackjack later, the tables started looking a little friendlier. Somehow, I went from the guy who didn't even want to be there to the guy trying to win it all back. Beyond the laughs and the gambling, what stood out was the atmosphere. Thunder Valley has that exciting Vegas-style energy without having to leave Northern California. The property is beautiful, the staff was welcoming, and there's plenty to do whether you're there for gaming, food, or just a fun night out. I may not have walked in as a casino fan, but I definitely walked out appreciating the experience. Sometimes the best nights are the ones you didn't plan. We're not even checked out yet and we've had quite a bit of issues. The rooms are very spacious and nice, but please keep in mind if you are staying longer than a day then I don't think this place is the right fit for you. This place would probably be better for just an overnight stay because it's definitely not the comfort inn suites. The room does not include a microwave, they charge you an extra $10 to bring up a microwave to your room, and then an extra $10 a night that it stays in the room, which is ridiculous so cold food for the week for us. We have already spent over $700 just for the stay in general on top of that, they do not mention that you have to pay an extra hundred to 140 for another holding deposit after u check in. We had to cover three of our friends deposits that day because they had no idea since they already paid their half of the portion or I think they had already paid and most of my friends weren't getting paid until two or three days later so we had to lose a lot of our money that way to cover them. Valet parking was a bit of a mess. Was told that they need my ID and my insurance card and for my name to be on the insurance as well as the car. Which I understand, but as of right now, I am sharing my mom's car until I find a new car so it just was a whole process of that being inconvenient on top of just trying to get our stuff up to the rooms. Our ticket was also misplaced and taken and disposed of so that took an extra 1020 minutes for us to figure out how that happened because one of the new people accidentally took it with them when we were supposed to have it so we didn't get our stuff for awhile on top of the car. Birthday dinner at thunder Café was a bit of a mess TBH. Had to send my Alfredo back because there was no sauce on it, the chicken itself was dry and cold and not cooked all the way. On top of that do not spend $20 on the pasta because they will just give you two scoops of it and leave the rest of the bowl empty. I chose to get the pizza after that, which was fine. I took it to go since everybody was done with their food. Four of us ended up getting sick from the food there mind you I probably had a total of 10 people with me. So the next day a lot of my friends were throwing up in the toilet or stayed in the room all day due to not feeling good from the food. We were also supposed to use the pool to swim for a couple hours. Only to be told that whoever needs to use the pole needs to have ID and has to be specifically staying with us. No outside guest, even if it is for a birthday thing for a couple hours, which was very inconvenient on 103 day. We definitely should've booked somewhere at the comfort inn suites but my fiancé thought it would be nice to do something different and it definitely was the wrong decision. This place obviously just wants money on top of money and wants to make it inconvenient for u by not telling u everything before u check in and after, so I would not waste your time here. Looking forward to leaving tomorrow and not coming back. I wish we could get a refund off of this place considering how much we have spent and dealt with. On top of no cold water here in the bathroom sinks it's only steaming hot water when u wash ur hands or brush ur teeth. Not fun.

The meals were uber fresh (filling enough that we skipped lunch both days!). Every day around 5 you're treated to wine and cheese. Perfect location to wine taste on property or venture out to the growing number of top rated wineries. Walk amongst the vineyards or take out one the beach cruisers or trikes for a ride around. Our suite (one of five) was absolutely stunning. The Innkeeper (the first of three amazing Innkeepers) had the gas fireplace lit, and wonderful instrumental music playing, as she showed us our suite. The food was phenomenal: gourmet breakfasts, 5:00 wine and cheese, and homemade cookies in the evening. My favorite part was the patio with a fire pit overlooking the vineyard. It is difficult to find such peace and serenity anywhere. Aah... We anticipate return visits

Nikki was very sweet on the phone and my family was very excited about our 5 day stay on the American River. When we arrived the first thing we noticed was the river is about a 100 yards downhill from the cottage. I was a little dissappointed about that. The next thing that we noticed was that the cemetary is about 6 feet from the master bedroom window... we knew about the cemetary, but didn't realize that this was the view from the master bedroom. One thing that I didn't take note of, was the fact that there is no T.V. upstairs or internet access. While there is a T.V. downstairs, it just plays vcr and dvd's. The downstairs is also almost impossible to heat without getting the upstairs too hot. The t.v. room does have a small stove type electric heater, but it doesn't heat the lower bedroom at all. My daughter and grandson had to sleep on the futon so they would not freeze all night. My guess is that the downstairs will stay nice and cool in the summer months. Now the best part... there is a rooster right below the master bedroom and it starts to crow way before sunrise. Usually it starts up at 5:00 a.m. and crows until 7:00 a.m., this was very disturbing and we all hated it. The chickens are cute, but the rooster should be moved from this relaxing vacation rental. The property is very pretty and the river is also very pretty. We were told about the bakery/coffee shop down the road, but when we got there, it had a sign "closed until January 4th". This cabin would be great if all you want to do is read books and relax in the winter months. I would probably be back in the summer when there is actually something to do.

Outside, the kids had great fun roaming the property and playing by the river. They also enjoyed the chickens and duck, which Nikki even let them feed. This is a beautiful place to relax and have some quiet family time without the noise of the city. I greatly enjoy that there is only a TV downstairs, because we wanted a quiet environment, free of electronics when we vacation. I highly recommend this cottage, and we plan to return at least annually!
