The weather was so nice, we decided to have a family dinner out at a mexican restaurant that we had not visited in 15 yrs or so. Casa Colima that use to be called Nacho Mama's is right off the main Pacific HWY in Tualatin. The restaurant was super busy, we were offered a table inside the small main dinning area. The seating is not comfortable especially if you are a larger person like I am. We took the seating that was offered based on how busy they were. The staff is very friendly and greeted us quickly. As soon as the menus were provided, we were asked if we wanted to get ahead of other larger parties, so we quickly provided our orders. I had the 2item combo, chicken crispy shell taco and a cheese enchilada with rice and beans. The taco was great but the enchilada was cold, the cheese inside was not warm it was all one giant piece of cheese not melted or warm enough, since it was so busy I did not want to sent it back to the kitchen. The salsa was great, the chips did not look fresh and were not that great. My son had some quesabirria tacos, they were also ok. My wife had the same meal as I and had the same experience. I would share that the guacamole is amazing now that is worth the visit alone. We will not be back given that we have so many other options closer to home. I wish them much success. read more

Look at this monster of a burrito... Went with my coworkers as my office is right across the street. The burrito was so huge, my colleagues commented that the burrito would eat me... I devoured it though. I would say Casa Colima is a good spot if you're looking for a huge platter size and want some solid mexican food. My only complaint is I wish that scoop of guacamole on top was bigger. I also thought it was a tad bit salty but that's just my preference. Beef, chicken, shrimp and chorizo alone with three different peppers, onions and other things. Look at the photo and there is enough food for two or three people can shat. But I was alone that day and happily took home what I could eat there. The place is small and very intimate. With seating inside and out. Booth, tables, high tops and bar seats provided different choices for seating. Music was good and comfortable. The staff are all very interested in providing a great experience. I was able to talk with three staff members as they were checking in with me and how I was enjoying the wonderful food. I've been here a few times with my kayaking group. We've lived near this place for over a year and never stopped to try it before. We finally did this Saturday and took advantage of their great outdoor seating for dinner. We ordered the queso and it was really good id say it was 4.5/5. But then our entrees were a bit underwhelming for the price. We ordered one of the big burritos (I don't remember which one) and the chicken fajitas and they were good but a bit bland. The service was very good and they had clean bathrooms so this would be a much better happy hour spot. read more

The only reason they're getting two stars is simply because of the two waitresses helping us out. They were very polite, attentive and quick to bring refills or whatever we needed. We sat on the patio since we had our dog with us. Definitely love that they're pet/family friendly. The best thing about the entire meal was the free chips and salsa. The chips are warm and salty and the salsa was fresh with a slight kick. Otherwise, the mojito didn't taste like anything. The Long Island ice tea tasted like watered down tea. The shrimp in the ceviche was rubbery. They asked how I'd like the eggs and I said over easy, the menu even says they'll be cooked this way, and yet I had no yolk. It was cooked completely about half way through and congealed on the top portion. Not to mention both our meals came out warm. Like they had been sitting for awhile. I always hate leaving bad reviews, but honestly this place hardly deserves the two stars at all. Also, kind of weird, they have their bathroom entrance literal feet from the kitchen, you think they'd put a door up or something so the kitchen isn't so accessible/close to the toilets but I guess not. read more

We stopped to have lunch at this wonderful little gem in Tualatin, OR ~Casa Colima. They have a great selection of authentic scratch made mexican dishes. The wait staff was amazing, very friendly, and accommodating. I loved their outdoor patio, and the authentic Mexican colors and themes made me feel like I was in Mexico. The atmosphere is nice but the food is bland and overall disappointing. Chips were fresh and crunchy but wasn't a fan of the salsa, no better than store bought from a jar. The worst part was the overpowering smell of Fabulosa. I love the stuff and use it myself but you guys need to dilute it more....its not what you want to smell while you're eating. Service was quick and friendly. I may try them again in the summer to have a Marg on the patio but I'll stick with Mazatlan in the King City plaza for gringo Mexican comfort food. read more

We visited yesterday and were underwhelmed by the food. I ordered a deluxe burrito with shredded beef and requested it be grilled. I received a deep fried burrito and while eating it, I chomped down on bone. I pulled out a chunk that was about an inch long and 1/2" wide. I left it on my plate and brought home the remaining half as leftovers. This morning, I decided to eat the burrito for breakfast and 1st bite, I bit down on more bone. This one is 2.5 times the size of the one from yesterday. How do bones this large get missed?! Regardless of the massive bones, the food was flavorless. We will not be visiting again. read more

Casa Colima is the new name but the food and margaritas are still excellent. We ventured out and were seated in the outside area. It's spacious and clean the only drawback is that it is by the busy highway. The salsa is delicious and the chips fresh. Our server made sure we each had our own basket of chips and salsa. I ordered the chimichanga and my husband ordered his favorite shrimp tacos. Both were fresh and tasty. The margaritas are homemade and I would order the regular ones. The skinny Margarita was not satisfying my fault for trying to be healthy. The prices are spendy for Mexican food. read more

Cute restaurant with good food and very attentive service. They are located off the 99w, and they turned out to be perfect before heading to the coast, since we were famished . Definitely, would return even I wasn't passing by on my way to the coast. The space inside and outside is very colorful and decorative and gives you the feeling of being in Mexico. I ordered the combo: chili rellano and chicken enchilada that came with rice and beans. Hubby ordered a chimichura. It was so large that he took half of it home. The salsa was flavorful and they brought us several refills. This is one of the first menus we have used where no prices are listed. I understand that with shortages that their prices may fluctuate, but it's strange ordering when your have no idea what the prices are. We had two dishes, two basic Margaritas and our bill was $49. We felt the price was justified, but it would be nice to know the prices up front. Guess we could have asked the server when ordering, but that's just awkward. Will we be back? Casa is a step up from the old restaurant that was here before, but it's not amazing. This was my third visit. The service was good, actually better then good..... The staff was friendly, helpful and our chip bowl was always full. Our group had Enchiladas, burritos, salad, and fajitas. The fajitas were the best of the bunch. The salad was not great, my husband said his burrito was "not bad". My kids said their Enchilada Crème pollo was fine, but not hot. Bottom line- if you're in the area and want decent Mexican food, this is a great option, but if your not in the area already, it's not worth the drive. read more

The ascetic here is home'y. The gente are very nice, helpful and appreciate good hard work. The presentation of food here is unlike most small family owned mexican restaurants. They show that they care and took the time to present beautiful food. Not only is it good looking Mexican cuisine, but it's very flavorful as well. Casa Colima has at least a couple of locations in the Portland area, this one is my favorite. They have a great, pretty predictable menu, and the food is always prepared consistently and arrives hot. What makes it special for me is the staff, who are always very friendly and helpful. They have recently added some additional seating as well, probably to allow for more space between customer groups. Their mole is pretty yummy, and I like their beans and rice as well. Silly, but some places just don't get those two staples down. It's a little tricky to get in to the parking lot if you're heading North (?, away from Sherwood) as you have to turn around and head back due to a small divider in the road. They have a full bar, and another staple, the chips, are always fresh and far too addicting, and the selection of fresh made salsas allow for something for everyone. read more

Ok, so how pricey can three street tacos and a small portion of rice and beans be? $11? $12? Nope - $17.50! If you are going to charge outrageous prices, put the dang things on the menu so customers know up front.
