    Chilaquiles Style Nachos
    Alex K.

Happened to stumble this place in Bridgeport village as I was looking for some vegan and vegetarian options while I was in the Tualatin area. We sat outside on the small 3 person tables along the sidewalk as it was a beautiful evening. Parking is free nearby in the parking garage. Our waitress was friendly and helpful and confirmed our food choices were truly vegan or vegetarian. The menu was a bit confusing because some item were listed as vegetarian but they gave no vegan notation, so we had to confirm our food choices. We got the chilaquiles nachos style large order but it was plenty for sharing for the three of us. The nachos were delicious and beautiful presentation. We also got chips and salsa. Note that the first basket is free and there is a charge for subsequent ones.

I ordered the Carnitas Taco (3 stars) and Asada Taco (2 stars). I liked the filling portion of the tacos that I'm glad I only ordered two tacos. I've had better and more flavorful versions of each one elsewhere. I didn't like the salsa that was on the side. The service was 4 stars, and they were very nice. It's kid friendly with high chairs and crayons. It seemed to get busy during a weekday lunch. The menu had a lot to offer that I would maybe return to try something else.

Came here after some shopping. Was seated right away at 2pm, reaturant was pretty full. They give you complementary chips and salsa which was good! I got the carne asada entree that comes with rice, beans and guacamole. The guac did look brown and old which wasn't great so I didn't eat that but the food itself was very good

It was a great spot to find in Bridgeport. The place is very spacious and welcoming. The food was amazing, I am still recovering from the food coma from lunch. The staff were very nice, friendly and helpful in explaining more about the dishes. I picked a dish based on the waitress suggestion and it was spot on good and quite filling. There is a general area and also bar area with few more taller tables & chairs. There is a good big menu so everyone can find something, you can't leave this place leaving hungry. The menu also has options for vegan & gluten free, mocktails and real alcohol. We got chips & salsa and also a side of guacamole, which were all good. We had a table next to the window, with lots of daylight and people watching on the street.

Great bar with friendly service. The interior of this restaurant is cute and the service here is so friendly and sweet. Quesadilla was fire.

Anchovies are not suitable for vegetarians.

What a baffling menu. A salad with anchovies in it is listed as vegetarian while the meat-free watermelon salad is not marked vegetarian. How could anyone with dietary restrictions trust anything in this restaurant? It's easy enough to read through with the salads but is there lard in the tortillas? Chicken stock in the sauces? I couldn't trust those answers from a restaurant that thinks fish is vegetarian.

The food was great! Showed up right as happy hour was happening. Ordered a lot of food but as a family of 6 get together couldn't go wrong with any of the food. The service was great. Checked on us multiple times. Polite staff. No wait time. Slow during 3pm. The price was great as well. Portions were perfect. Environment Sami loud music, but good for eating. Outside seating also a plus! Right across from the movie theater. They also have Bar seating as well. Happy Hour 3pm-6pm Monday-Friday.

Stopped in for a quick bite and enjoyed it a lot! The service was really outstanding and everyone was very accommodating. The ambiance has some nice elements but isn't over the top in terms of originality... but do people really come for that part anyway? I ordered some tacos and they were legit. The corn tortillas were fresh and warm, and the guacamole was not too salty or bland... just right. A little bit more on the expensive side for this caliber of family restaurant, but that seems to be more and more common these days. Still a pretty solid meal with good portions if you're looking for reliably good Mexican cuisine in busy Bridgeport Village.

Top: chili verde bowl. Bottom: fish bowl.

We had the bowls - chili verde and fish. I liked the way the fish was grilled and will be back to try their fish tacos. The chili verde was on the spicy side, but flavorful. Loved the skinny margarita. Menu is marked for vegan and gf. Service was quick & friendly. Has a trendy Mexican vibe.

A friend and I met at Choza and decided to stay as we saw their happy hour specials. We first sat in the dining area and ended up moving to the bar as the specials we saw outside were just in the bar. The waitress didn't seem too happy to move us. We ended up moving our own items over and got situated. Our waiters seemed like they were nice, especially once we decided on our orders. My friend is sensitive to gluten and had a few questions. Some of the items he asked about said they were gluten-free on the menu, but the servers told us they were not. This happened a couple of times, and so my friend ended up getting a couple of chicken tacos. I got the street quesadillas and a side of refried beans. Wow, and wow again! Our food was delicious! I like how the quesadillas were made. They were individually wrapped and stuffed with tons of pull able cheese, acocado, and poblano peppers. Everything came together so well, and I loved that it was topped with lettuce, crema, and cojita cheese. Omg! Every bite was amazing, and I loved the price. To wash it all down, I got their berry margarita that was not super sweet and had tons of flavor. One is enough, so keep that in mind! Minus one star for the service as the staff needs to be a little more knowledgeable about the items and that they can not guarantee their drinks or food can be gluten free--even if they say they are. It's okay if they do not know or can not guarantee it. I would come back for another margarita and their street quesadillas. The chips and salsa were fabulous as well. The chips were crispy, and the salsa had a nice kick to it, which made sropping myself from eating more very difficult. I'm so glad there are to go boxes!

Service was fast, friendly, and efficient. We were a group of eight! Chips and salsa were yummy. All of us enjoyed our meals. My barbacoa burrito was very good and my husband ordered roasted vegetables with beans and rice. We would go there again when we are visiting Portland. Kids enjoyed watching sports on TV.

    Steak fajitas, chicken enchiladas, margaritas.

Well presented dishes. The garnish with the enchiladas made it very fresh and the chicken was flavorful. Steak fajitas that had a good amount of peppers and not just onions. Drinks were well made and refreshing with the food!

We had a table right at the windows, with lots of daylight. That was our second visit. The service was always outstanding and friendly. The drinks are great and the food is good. You get a good bang for your buck here.

I was originally going to go to taco bell (what a mistake that would have been). I saw this as I was driving by and thought I should give it a try. The beef tacos came out wonderfully like little steak bites in corn shells. Just the right amount of spice and veggies. I will definitely stop back when I'm in the Tigard area as this was just to tasty to pass up again. They do have indoor dining too I just didn't stop inside. Their breakfast burritos are tasty, simple, and while sometimes inconsistent, are still a nice warm meal first thing on a Saturday. However, in the last few months, every time I enter, there's a Sonos speaker that is playing music ON BLAST. It's been in a few different locations; over the condiment bar, or behind the register near the kitchen, and at such a volume that I could barely hear the employee at the register, and I had to raise my voice to be heard by them. Additionally, the employee that normally works the register does the bare minimum you would expect for someone taking your order at a register. This is both a good thing and a bad thing. I get my order out in in a timely manner, but I get the sense that, while this is a family-run restaurant, they're not necessarily including their patrons as part of that family. I think their main challenge is their drive thru. They seem to have one person working the register, drive thru, and handling incoming phone orders the majority of the times I've come in. I'll never skip out on this place, but I avoid dining in anymore. You don't come for the vibes or service, really just a quick and tasty meal.

When we walked in for a Sunday dinner, we were greeted with the smell of roasting chicken and charcoal, a promising sign from the very start. It was pretty busy inside, but after ordering at the counter, the food only took about 15 minutes to arrive. Whole Chicken Meal ($27.74) - The meal comes with two 12 oz sides, an 8oz salsa, and either corn or flour tortillas. For the sides we went with the classic Mexican Rice and the Refried Beans. Both are pretty standard stuff from a Mexican restaurant. The rice is tender with still distinct grains, has an reddish color from tomatoes, and adds a scant amount of veggies mixed through. The beans are mostly smooth throughout, fatty and creamy. We went with the corn tortillas, of which they provide a whole stack of twelve, warmed until steaming, making them hot, soft, and pliable, perfect to eat with the chicken and sides. The chicken is legitimately amazing. Basically the entire restaurant smells like chicken fat being charred over mesquite. It's a mesmerizing smell that made me salivate upon walking in. The chicken is whole roasted with the dark meat and wings being cooked until succulent and juicy. The interior of the breasts are a bit dry, but there's not much that can be done with this cooking method! Otherwise, the char is excellent, creating an almost crust-like nature to the skin and the spice mix imbues a yellow glow to the entire tray. They give so much food that we only finished perhaps a quarter of it. We ended up bringing the rest home on our drive up the next day and ate it for another couple of meals. (5/5) I especially love their salsa bar off to the side of the main counter. There's so much variety, there's surely something to please anyone. They have a mild tomato, a mild but smoky, a spicy and fruity, a green tangy tomatillo, a creamy avocado, a crunchy fresh pico de gallo, a smoky and spicy, and a tangy and spicy salsa - basically all combinations someone could ask for. Even the spiciest additions are still very tolerable to my tastes. We were impressed enough to visit again the next day for lunch: Supreme Burrito al Pastor ($14.37) - This is hefty burrito, almost Mission-sized, being around 4 inch in diameter with the weight to match. It's first filled with plenty of Mexican rice, same as with the meal. For some reason, this time, the rice is hard and tough, like they had reached down to scrape the bottom of the rice cooker. It would likely be the most coveted portion of rice in a tagine or clay pot, but in a burrito, the toughness doesn't work well. On top of the rice are the refried beans, spooned over intermittently. It adds creaminess and fat to the otherwise dry exterior layers. Then the layer of meat begins - cubed pork, marinated in a savory and sweet sauce, then mixed up with chopped pineapples. It's more adobada than al pastor, and is on the sweeter end of things with the pineapple. The spice mixture isn't the most notable; they definitely focus on the chicken at El Jefe vs. the pork. Veggies, including lettuce and a pico de gallo mix cover the meat, followed by thinly shredded cheese and sour cream, which is thick and rich, perhaps more resembling crema than cream, and some guacamole, tangy and fatty. It's not the most even application - for example, the guac only covers one end of the burrito while the sour cream covers the other end. (4/5) I have to say, the chicken served at EL Jefe Grill is perfection. I would revisit just for that. Bathrooms - Two unisex rooms Note: El Jefe charges a 2.9% credit card fee. This is displayed at the register, but they have their POS set up incorrectly. Firstly, they lump the cost into the menu item instead of separating it out into a fee. Secondly, they actually charge a random fee rather than 2.9%. For example, the whole chicken meal is 3.1% and the supreme burrito is 2.7%. Very bizarre. I reported it to their management so hopefully it gets fixed soon.
