My wife and I decided to actually visit during a Locals Night. It wasn't too crowded probably since it was not really a good night to drive! But our fridge and pantry were bare so.... The place was inviting and we could sit any open space. We were quickly waited on and looked at the local special. Since we weren't really in shot and Taco mood we went to the menu. Ordered a beer and a margarita while waiting. The margarita was a bit on the small side but still enjoyable. Our food came out quickly and looked and smelled great. It was just enough food too. About the only downside was the live music. The musician was good but too loud for the space. If we didn't take a table that wasn't speaker facing we would not have been able to chat.

We loved the fresh, savory Casa Colina Mexican specialties & bev's from talented Chef Derek (also French & South American experienced) & wonderful server, Connor. We had Nachos Asada, Tacos Carnitas & Chicken Tinga, Mexican Caesar Salad, tap IPA's, Tres Leches Cake & Chai Tea - all of highest culinary quality & divinely delicious!!! Beautiful dining inside mid-century modern lodge or outdoors on stony ledge fire pit area with pine trees & roaming Elk. Super food & friendly, knowledgeable team (Rated: A++ & 5 Stars)!

How come there aren't many reviews of this place?? Luckily Google recommended it when we were searching for Mexican food. The interiors of this place can definitely be a great hangout spot if you are with a big group. The location is pretty decent , and offers pretty views too. I loved the mahi mahi tacos a little too much and had to order twice :D Mr. Had an avocado salad and was full of praise. I hope more people discover this place, truly deserves recommendations!!

Casa Colina was such a surprise gem -- just steps from the Estes Park Visitor Center and the Stanley Hotel, inside the Trailborn Rocky Mountains boutique property. We came in for breakfast and ended up coming back for dinner -- it was that good. Shout out to their Super friendly staff, great service! In the morning, we sat indoors with a beautiful view of the Rockies -- warm, cozy, and absolutely stunning. I had the chorizo burrito bowl and it was delicious -- fresh, flavorful, and just the right amount of spice. Easily a contender for #1 breakfast with a view in Estes Park. Dinner was just as memorable. The smoked margarita? A solid 10/10. The bourbon from Hogback distillery was such a pleasant surprise -- great to taste something truly good from a local business. We also shared the Carne Asada quesadilla and tacos -- and wow, the portions were generous and packed with flavor. Plus, the fresh-made guac? I could've snacked on it all day. Everything tasted fresh, balanced, and intentional. Highly recommend for both breakfast and dinner -- especially if you're staying nearby!

Carne asada

Kimberly was the best service worker I've encountered in a long time! The carne asada, chicken tinga tacos, and all three dips and chips were incredibly tasty. When in a mountain town it is always a toss up what quality food you will get but this place blew us away!

Good food, good service, nice outdoor space! We will be back the next time we're in Estes. Nice spot away from all the downtown crowds.

The three dishes we got were all fantastic! - mango shrimp: came with at least 16 shrimps and such a light and refreshing flavor with the mango - steak frites: easily two meals and steak was delicious - bison flautas: savory and so well balanced with their guacamole Service was excellent as well! Our waitress was super attentive and had no issues with us moving tables and going from outdoors to indoors when we got too toasty outside.

I heard this place was amazing and that it's a must try in Estes Park but please if you have high taste and are expecting big city level quality, do not get your hopes up! It's not good!! Maybe I'm being snotty for coming from a big city (DC and NYC) so I need to lower my expectations, but I've had great food in Colorado so I don't think that's it. But this was upsetting. And I do appreciate the manager for being so kind because it was really a miserable evening. Starting off we had a reservation at 6:30. So I expect to be sat at least by 6:35/6:40. We made this reservation three weeks in advance. But they clearly oversat people without reservations because we didn't get sat until 7:00. That was frustrating. We waited for drinks for about 20 minutes. They were delicious don't get me wrong. These were the highlight of the evening. The pear spritz and grapefruit margarita were fantastic. Loved. We ordered apps next. I don't know why they think goat cheese is a good addition to potato leek soup. I figured I'd try it because why not. Not good. And the focaccia? Two small slices for $4? I would hope that the waiter would've told us what we were getting because yikes. Why is there more butter than bread? We would've paid extra for two more slices but the transparency made us feel jipped. Now let's talk food. Took about 45 minutes. It's busy, I understand. But honestly I thought it might've been out earlier because our food came out lukewarm. Borderline cold. And talk about salt!!! It was like eating the sea. My mom and I both ordered the filet and were horrified to see it was cut. A filet. It dries it out! But yeah, there was no balance. It was salt on salt on salt. Gross. The waiter was very nice and so was the manager. They asked to take it back. But honestly it was just bad so we were ready to leave. They brought out two free glasses of wine which again was nice. But we again, just wanted to be done and go home. We didn't get dessert even though it was offered. Everything fell so short that honestly I didn't even want to try dessert. Again-- the food is bad. All extremely salty. If you like that, there you go. But the fact that it was basically cold? Yeah that's unacceptable. And as I said, grateful to the staff. But starting off not having been sat for 30 minutes after making a reservation weeks in advance? This was pitiful to say the least. Don't go here unless you want drinks and a beautiful view.

They have what I'd describe as a modern ambiance and lots of natural lighting w their big windows. Food was reasonably priced especially the steaks that were both less than $30!! We were seated in an odd location that seemed to have cleaning supplies and other miscellaneous elements scattered next to it. When being seated, we were given an additional menu that they apparently only offer on certain days, which was not the day that we were there. Service was inconsistent and a bit awkward: sometimes a lot of explanation and attention, sometimes abruptness or nothing. The elk burger was fine and the trout was good. The greens that came with the trout tasted like they were drenched in butter. The fries were described by the person who ordered them as the worst they'd ever had. I didn't think it was that bad, but they did come out basically cold. They also ended by asking to leave a review and mention the server name in the review.

There were a couple of mix-ups with our order, including Mezcal which has a very distinct taste accidentally being added to my margarita, and some incorrect side dishes but the staff handled everything quickly and professionally. Since the restaurant had only recently reopened with a new menu, the mistakes were understandable. I ordered the Smashburger with fries, and my friend had the chicken fajita sandwich with a salad. The food was delicious, and the prices were reasonable for the area. The rooftop offers beautiful views of Estes Park and is conveniently located right in the shopping district. The only downside was the orange barrier coverings around parts of the rooftop while renovations were being completed. They blocked some of the views and took away a bit of the ambiance. Once those renovations are finished, this will be an even better spot. Great food, attentive service, and a fantastic location, I would definitely visit again once the renovations are completed.

We sat down and about 10 minutes later, a couple sat behind us and our waitress visited and brought water to their table first instead of ours. In addition, another couple behind us was not seen by any waiter/waitress and had to ask a worker (who might have been an assistant manager? Although, not clear what his position was) if they can order with him. Overall service felt scattered, a bit slow overall, and unprofessional. Food: I ordered the tex mex bowl with barbacoa. It tasted as expected, nothing spectacular. However, there was a massive piece of plastic in my food. I let the waitress know and she apologized on behalf of the kitchen. I kept the meal because I hate waste and I didn't see any other plastic pieces in the food. Right after I found the plastic, I also discovered a bone in the meat. It was big enough to hurt a tooth if I had bit down on it but thankfully I spit it out before I chewed my food completely. While a bone might be normal to find in meat, I was certainly unhappy that now two objects were in this food. I was never comped for my meal and the manager never visited my table to apologize. I only write reviews if I had a fantastic experience or when I feel the need to warn others about the restaurant. I recommend choosing another restaurant before choosing this one if you prefer quality food and service.

The steak was a tad overcooked beyond medium rare. There was a lot of gristle to cut through. The steak knives were not sharp, and made cutting the meat that was a bit tough difficult. It seemed underseasoned. A great steak I'd eat without sauce. This one I should have requested sauce. The baked potato was small. The sour cream was stingy. The skin was tough, as if it had been cooking for a long time. I was really wanting a big baked potato with butter, cheese, sour cream, bacon, and chives. This one was disappointing. My crab cakes were the hero of the meal -- very tasty and moist. The wild game brats were disappointing. It was a selection of several different kinds of game meat, but the pieces were small and too spicy. The cheese on the board had been cut into squares and left out a bit too long. The asparagus was thick and long. Could have been cooked a little bit longer to make them more tender. The brussel sprouts were overcooked. Some people prefer them a little toasted on the outside, though. I didn't like the shrimp sauce. The shrimp were small. There was bread soaked in the sauce that actually made the bread taste bad. The shrimp were not shelled.
