I went in for the first time this afternoon and fell so in love with the bake shop. Everything looked delicious. What brought me in was TooGoodToGo. I came in to pick up my order and was right behind a lady and two others were behind me. The lady was being helped by a gentleman and a blonde girl with pink hair was just ignoring the line and doing stuff behind the counter. She asked the lady behind me if she needed help and decided to skip over me like I wasn't even there. I had my 4 year old with me so we were hard to miss. I'm super pregnant and had the biggest craving for something sweet! I am not sure if she just didn't want to help me because I'm Mexican and everyone else in there was not or what the problem was. If the problem was my TooGoodToGo order and she was upset that I wasn't paying full price I could have paid it. It was really frustrating to just be ignored and skipped over. The gentleman that was there ended up getting me my order instead. But I'm not sure I'll be going back here if that's the way I'll be treated each time. read more

Oh my goodness!!! Delicious always! Don't come here if you are in a hurry though, the majority of the times I've been here, we've had to wait longer than 20-30 minutes before our food came out. Due to being there to enjoy ourselves and not needing to be anywhere quickly, we didn't mind. The food here is such a delight! The first thing I ever tried here was one of the grilled cheeses with bacon...wow!!! And the salad that came with it, also, wow!!! It was also so filling I couldn't eat the entirety of it. I've had one of the breakfast bowls here too and did not expect much since it included waffle fries, but I was shocked by how good it was. One of the times my husband got biscuits and gravy and let me try it... (I'm always nervous to get biscuits and gravy since it is usually either terrible or phenomenal) The biscuits and gravy here are so incredibly delicious!!! Mmmmm. The biscuits have a slight sweetness to them and then the gravy is savory and a perfect compliment to the biscuits and eggs. The coffee here is also delicious! I rarely enjoy black coffee at a lot of different places, but here, I'm never disappointed. I haven't had a chance to try a lot of the baked good but they look incredible. read more

I went to Casa Costa Bake Shop in Leander yesterday to try something other than Starbucks. I was delightfully surprised at what I found. This quaint coffee house had delicious coffee (I had an americano) and scrumptious food (I had the strawberry salad). The staff was very friendly and helpful. I was able to work for a couple hours on my laptop and they do have WIFI. There was a limited amount of space inside as this was a house before if was converted into a bake shop and coffee house, but there were plenty of tables, chairs and picnic benches outside. I had no trouble finding a parking space and the shop is within walking distance of downtown Leander. I have found my new favorite place to go for coffee, lunch and pastries. Waited an hour for a Brazilian plate. Rest of my table was done eating. Asked waiter twice, finally went inside to check on my food. The children working there were unapologetic, kept telling me it was "coming right out." I requested a refund. They gave me my refund (after another 15 minutes in a very tight space), and never gave me my food!! Most places would comp such terrible service; oh no, not here! Are you kidding me? I thought it was "coming right out?"?! Who taught these kids about customer service? Where was the manager?! They are dead to me, I'll never be back. My teenaged daughter asked me for cash the other day to go to brunch with her friends, and when I found out she was coming here, I refused to give her any money. My husband got me a birthday cake from here. He went in and asked for a custom red velvet cake and requested that they put lilies (my favorite flower) on top - one to represent each of my children. They did an amazing job! It was so beautiful. The flowers were delicate and you could tell they had each been created by hand. There were also little bits of chocolate mixed in the red velvet cake. It was almost too pretty to cut, but with hesitation, I did eventually cut myself a slice. It was heavenly.
