Not a basic iced cafe de olla. I even asked your employee is this a LATTE because this doesn't not look my normal order she said YES....three times I asked her. Went here on a not busy rainy day. When we entered the restaurant, nobody greeted us from the staff, they just stared on us(we were like okay). Then we ordered waffle combo with nutella, and Birria Tacos. While waiting for our orders we didn't even get any complimentary drinks. Then when we got our food. The waffle combo does not come with nutella and the Birria tacos does not have the dip sauce. When i asked about it, staff replaced the waffle combo with a new one with nutella which is okay. But he told me that they ran out of the sauce dip for the Birria tacos. Which i hope they just removed it on the menu in the first place already. read more

This is the place for an easy weekend morning without having to do the dishes, or painstakingly brewing an amazing cup of coffee. Casa de Cafe is our go to for crepes in the Whittier area. Their coffees are quite yummy as well (we always order with food). There is always parking and the service is good, although a bit impersonal. Attention to detail is what I appreciate with the selection. They ask how coffee and other menu items are to be made. It's very much appreciated. There are a few tables in the eating area, but we mostly order for takeout. Space is not too small yet it's relatively quiet inside. Any slight bit of turmoil may turn the tide of the atmosphere, but mostly adults are sitting having their goodies. While the prices are a little high it's worth it. For a slow relaxing morning this is the place to bring something home and relax. read more

Been wanting to try this place for quite some time now and finally had the chance and WOWWWW did not disappoint!!! I ordered the Panela sandwich but made it breakfast style adding egg and bacon and omg probably the best breakfast sandwich I've ever had! Walked into this place for a latte and I was not disappointed. Nice clean place (nothing fancy about it) and staff were friendly. The self service kiosk made it very convenient to place my order. They had multiple latte options on their menu, but ultimately decided on their iced coconut latte, and it was perfect. Not too sweet and you could taste the coconut & espresso. Also ordered the Lechera crepes and the Turkey sandwich and they were both good. We loved the green sauce that came with the sandwich, next time we will be ordering extra! This is a relatively newer cafe in the Quad, on the corner where the Starbucks used to be. I went in for the first time on a rainy day and was so happy to see they had cafe de olla. My boyfriend had an Americano and we didn't order food (but will next time!) I was very happy with my drink choice- flavor was so good and it was nice and warm on a cold day. The only thing I'd recommend for improvement would be to not fill the cups so high as mine spilled on me and on the table. It's a nice space that seemed clean and inviting. This is a cute spot that's perfect for casual meet up. The indoor seating is casual and the decor is bright and inviting. They have a lot of options on their menu for very sweet coffees, although they do allow you to adjust the sweetness! I got a hot cappuccino oatmeal latte at 1/4 sweetness level (lechera flavor) and it was perfect. I ordered the savory crêpe mushroom, and spinach with cheese and it was satisfying. It came with the a basic salad. I wish the salad had more unique veggies but it was a garden salad. It's located in the parking lot with a lot of parking so accessibility is no issue here! I went here yesterday with my aunt and grandma to have a nice morning breakfast. They both had molletes and i had a sandwich and ordered a crepe. After getting our food my aunt took 2 bites to the mollete and saw a hair. I kindly showed them and asked if they can make another one. They said yes i went back to sit down and the girl comes back and tells me "come here" i went and she told me "we will make you another one but this isn't our hair" and i told her "it can't be our hair because her hair is curly and that's straight." She just said " well im just letting you know" and proceeded to give me back the hair , very unprofessional (she's short black hair Mexican) and her and a (tall blonde girl) were on their phones kept looking at us and after hid in the back. The business was clean and the staff was very friendly and helpful. The service was quick and the beverages tasted great. I ordered the Cafe de Olla,and iced Cafe de Olla, an Horchata Frapp, and an Aztec Mocha . All the beverages were favorable and sweetened just right. Excellent drinks! Their coffee, especially those with chocolate, are my favorite and really appreciate the ability to reduce sugar for the drink. Teas are also tasty, hot or cold. Some of the hot ones have their leaves and other organics in them, which adds to the richness. I've only had their sweet cremes and the chocolate and 3 leches are heaven. Service is solid as well. I met a friend here for coffee over the weekend and will definitely be coming back. I try to give the benefit of the doubt always. But unfortunately this place just isn't all that great. It needs to implement alot more effort for being a coffee shop that has been open for more than a year now, according to reviews. The ambiance could be and should be better. It was a slow Wednesday afternoon and the cafe only had one customer inside on their laptop with a cup of coffee on their table. Keep in mind this is my first time at Casa de Cafe and I'm walking in open minded with no expectations other than at least the "norm" in what you see at other coffee shops. The only nice decor would be the faux grass wall with the love/cafecito sign. Everything else should be taken out and the whole place should be redesigned. That jewlery next to the wall though? What is that? I'm sorry if I sound rude but just looking at that on the wall made me not like the place/effort that much more. The presentation is not good at all. If you want to sell that, made it look better than what it is. Sorry I don't have a picture of it, I wasn't planning on writing a review. I only write reviews when my experience was really that bad or that good. This one, was bad. The worst part: The " chilaquiles ". First of all, when selecting chilaquiles on the self service kiosk your automatically prompted with extra options to add at an additional cost. $3 for egg, $2 for "asada", I believe there was chicken you can add as well and maybe more but I was only interested in the asada. Mind you, the picture it had looked very tasteful and included all the options which is why I clicked on it. While holding my two year old toddler in my hands I quickly clicked on add asada and submitted the order along with two coffees and a crepe. When the food came out, I was excited at first but then I found out that the chilaquiles did not come with egg and I had to add it at an additional cost. The sour cream on top, you can tell it was squeezed from a tube. I'm not that bougie but when if I can tell you literally just squeeze something out of a tube and handed it to me, that just turns me off. I got a picture of the food at this point because I was just disappointed. I'm at a mexican coffee shop, as it seems, and I ordered a Mexican dish and this is what I get? Yikes. Think about it, if you didn't add any extras, you would get a plate of tortilla chips, cold hard sliced onions, tube squeezed sour cream, cojita cheese an a teaspoon of beans, probably canned. Also, the asada was super bland and had no taste. I honestly left the plate as it's pictured after having a few bites. I did not finish it, I couldn't, I tried. If it's not obvious by now, I most definitely won't be back. Just cause I feel like they know they could do better but are choosing not too. Oh and to top it off, as I was pulling up to the cafe, I watched the cashier/coffee maker walk in with Walmart bags of groceries. I'm not sure why I still continued to order the food after seeing that but I did anyway. It was probably the picture honestly. Save yourself some time and money, look elsewhere for a coffee shop. The coffee I ordered was the café de la olla latte, it was nothing special. Go to Mariachi Bakery in Norwalk. The café de la olla there is FIREEEEE. Trust me. Mariachi Bakery is much better. Two stars cause the coffee was alright and the design on top was cool, it's machine made but still cool I guess. read more

TLDR: delicious chilaquiles, portions on the small side, reasonably priced but then a high up charge on all "extras" . Two lattes, two entres, one crepe: $50 Service is great. There's two options to order, with the cashier or in the menu screen. They could really provide more photos of the items if they are going to offer a touch screen menu, maybe %20 of the items have a picture displayed but with so many Yelp photos etc you'd think they'd finished uploading all the photos to fill out their menu. There was no line when. We arrived and it didn't take long at all to get our order and two drinks. But I imagine that with the order set up long lines probably don't take forever to move through. Food was pretty good. We tested it their chilaquiles, and I had someone with me who was the best judge of Latino food, my mother lol. These come in a red sauce, I don't recommend the green sauce just because the red sauce is creamy and made so much better. They were great, eggs were ok, I liked that it comes with two fried eggs, most places only give you one! But the egg was over-hard and you miss out on the awesomeness of a runny egg yolk on your chilaquiles, as my mother said "the way they are supposed to be eaten." But flavor wise zero complaints. Red sauce is difficult to get right, every restaurant makes it different for some reason. This place makes it creamy and savory, not spicy, juuuuust right. About the sides; we ordered it to go and I think this was a mistake because they seriously short you in the beans in these to-go containers. Peep the photo, it was like two tablespoons of beans. I've never had chilaquiles with fresh onion slices like that, didn't realize they were going to come like that but it's actually great with white onion! I was pleasantly surprised and will be having these again. The salad is an odd choice to come with this meal, it was fresh and I like the way it's cut but why did it not have dressing? It was literally just plain greens, nothing on them. The Lechera crepe we shared and honestly I expected us to have food left over because we ordered one entree each and a crepe and two drinks, but we ate all the food. The portions are not enough seems like, but you be the judge, my mother is tiny but she can EAT. I coulda sworn the crepe came with 3 fruits but ours only had two: strawberries and bananas. I asked for no whip cream and no powdered sugar, it was already going to be swimming in sugary milk sauce and all that extra toppings would have made it way too sweet and less enjoyable. I was right, it was sweet enough. My mother had coconut hot latte with coconut milk, she loved it, especially the coconut shavings. I had horchata cold latte, it was perfect, I asked for it half sweet and was happy. Food and service gotta say was a hit. Ambiance sorry to say is a miss. My boyfriend found this place and we decided to try it. The place itself had great decor. We ordered on the kiosk which gave us an order number and some minutes later i noticed our drinks just sitting on the counter and nobody called us. Eventually one girl from the counter told us they ran out of waffles and asked what we wanted to replace them with. My boyfriend ended up walking up to the counter and that's when one of the workers said those were our drinks. The drink were pretty bland and didn't taste like they had coffee.
