    Where's the $2.25 cream cheese??
    Susana D.

I'm going to give this place another chance. The everything bagel was salty!!! Too salty I can feel myself bitting into the salt. $2.25 for cream cheese!!!? Are you serious it barely had anything on my bagel The coffee 12oz was $3 Plain coffee, no room to add your sugar or creamer on the counter because as you're trying to do so there's people behind you trying to get their order. Service was good. Can they not cut bagel? Can you give me my cream cheese on the side option I'm not okay with $2.25 for just cream cheese and $3+ on bagels that's crazy Place was packed no room to sit down because the line and people waiting were everywhere

Visited today on their first day of soft opening the cafe. So happy that the community came out to support a new business. Line was long but the vibe was cool with a DJ and coffee samples. The restaurant was clean and table were bussed very quickly. Service was about 10 mins after I ordered. Staff was super nice and friendly. Food was ok. Ingredients tasted fresh. Bagels were soft on the inside and nicely toasted on the outside Coffee was ok too. I wish them the best .

Don't waste ur money food is not good and coffee seems like its made from nescafe. Plus the prices are way to much for portion.

Breakfast sandwich with turkey bacon on onion bagel.

Good selection of bagels but get there early! They sell out fast. One of the best onion bagels I've had! Excited to try the rest of the menu.

    Bagel options galore

Wonderfully fluffy soft, delicious bagels paired with 421 coffee and I was in la la land. The place was busy but the lines were moving quickly. The staff was friendly and found a good working rhythm. The decorations of various bagels looks absolutely fantastic with a small but cozy interior. I look forward to coming during non-rush hour times because I want to sit down and enjoy my scrumptious bagels. Highly recommend.

Desi bagel with extra egg. No bacon. Blended Mocha coffee with two shots of espresso YUM!

Great Service! I ordered the Desi Bagel with extra egg. Comes with egg whites but I also added extra egg with the yolk. No bacon. The jalapeño' cream cheese is my favorite. Wish it was a little spicier but still my favorite. The blended coffee is mocha flavor with oat milk and two shots of espresso. Perfect for warmer weather. The staff is friendly and if I needed anything they were quick to help me. Especially if my order was missing something, they took care of it right away. The location has plenty of parking. The wait wasn't long and this is my 3rd time coming since their first day of their soft opening.

This is what they charged me $9 for mind you I have not even taken a bite out of it. I simply just opened the bagel.
    Nanette V.

The reason I came to Cassidy is obviously is to support the new business in our community. But to be completely honest, this is not worth what they are charging. I get the prices have went up, but that also means for the consumer as well and we are not getting what we are paying for. There is no possible way that this bagel should've cost me almost $9. To charge this price is ridiculous.

    Desi bagel with plastic
    Crystal G.

I went there for the 2nd time today and unfortunately I found plastic in my bagel. I'm not sure from what. I ordered the desi and I was chewing on what felt like paper but turned out to be plastic. I am very disappointed.

    ABC sandwich
    Christine W.

Have been waiting for it to open across the street from my work and was super excited to try today. Got the ABC sandwich. Bagel was ok but the toppings were basically non existent. Very little cream cheese where the bagel was dry, avocado almost non existent and very little bacon. Super disappointed and most likely would not try again.staff was super friendly but food just wasn't great.

such a great addition to Whittier! The food is fresh, the coffee is delicious, and the staff is incredibly lovely and kind. You can really feel the sense of community the moment you walk in. Looking forward to coming back again and again!

First time here and it was really good! Staff is really friendly and place is so beautiful and clean.

A weekend brunch with friends brought me to Madre's Whittier, where the menu offered plenty of tempting options--and a few unexpected lessons about ordering seafood. I tried the Ensenada Omelet, loaded with shrimp, salmon, crab, and octopus. Now, I'm a seafood lover, but octopus and I aren't exactly close friends. I asked if it could be removed, but since the seafood mix is pre-made, the octopus had already RSVP'd to the party. The omelet was good, topped with a creamy sauce, but not something I'd order again. The crab appeared to be imitation crab, and while everything was prepared well, it just wasn't a standout for me. The real star? The strawberry pancakes. Delicious! Next time, I'd order those with a side of eggs and call it a win. I also sampled the chilaquiles, and now that's a dish I'd come back for. The Tiramisu Latte was another favorite--not overly sweet and packed with that classic tiramisu flavor I love. A special shoutout to our waitress, Annie, who was attentive, friendly, and made our brunch experience even better. My Verdict: Skip the Ensenada Omelet and build your brunch around the stars of the menu instead. The strawberry pancakes are the must-order item, the chilaquiles are a strong savory choice, and the Tiramisu Latte ties everything together. If you order wisely, Madre's delivers a brunch worth coming back for.

There is more outdoor seating on the covered patio than indoor seating. Both seating areas are nice. The lady who seated us was very friendly and pretty attentive and especially considering she wad handling a lot of other tables. Both the house eggs Benedict and house French toast were good. Was expecting crispy bacon on the benny considering the description, but the only difference from classic seemed to be the avocado. The benny egg and muffin were both collected well, especially the eggs they did a great job on those. Wife didn't like the flavor of the hollandaise sauce, but thought it was fine. She liked the French toast much better. You did not need syrup as the butter cream and chocolate sauce were plenty sweet on their own. Half serving is probably ok for one person, full was nice to share. The bathroom was clean, large, and single person--great for a pit stop before you head out! The mason jar waters were cool. There were NO customers as we entered the restaurant, perhaps we came in rather late, an hour before closing. Nonetheless, considering there's no one inside the place, the service was aloof, distant and not attentive. As staff were going home, the two waitresses did not check on us for refill of coffee and water. When we paid the bill and generously tipped, we said, "bye!", the waitress was seating with her phone glued to her face. The food was decent. I ordered the "House full French Toast", and it is loaded with sliced strawberries and bananas, and drowned in chocolate drizzles. The brioche toasts were a tad dried and spongy but well coated with eggs. Delicious still. My other half ordered a Spanish omelette; it was good. We both got a little queasy in the tummy afterward. Considering spotty service and average food, we're not coming back. 2.5 stars.

The idea was to enjoy my coffee while getting organized--paying bills, planning calendar events, and having the opportunity to focus without any distractions from my usual surroundings. In search of the perfect spot, I turned to Yelp, a reliable resource for uncovering hidden gems nearby. Upon stepping into the coffee shop, I was immediately greeted with warm hospitality, setting the tone for a delightful experience. The ambiance of the place was truly captivating--it was bright and welcoming, infused with an aesthetic charm that instantly put me at ease. I couldn't help but be intrigued by the design elements throughout the shop, which added an inviting touch to its overall atmosphere. Before I settled in, I asked the staff if I could snap a few photos to capture the essence of this delightful space. They graciously welcomed my request, and I was shown to my table, which, quite uniquely, was designated by a number--a small detail that I found charming. As I browsed the menu, I encountered a small conundrum: I wasn't entirely sure what to order. I wanted to break the mold and try something out of the ordinary. My curiosity was piqued by their exclusive offering of Café de la Olla--a traditional hot drink that piqued my interest right away. I ultimately settled on a hearty plate that included rice, beans, and enticing potato tostones, accompanied by two beautifully cooked sunny-side-up eggs. As I waited for my order, I noticed the café was filled with the sweet sounds of old-school music from the '60s and '70s, which only enhanced the cozy ambiance while I sipped my drink. Now, let's talk about the food! I must say, I rated the café itself a solid 4 out of 5 for its overall charm, while the rice earned a respectable 4 out of 5. The beans were rich in flavor and received a fair 3.9 out of 5. The potato tostones, delicately bathed in a savory red sauce, stood out with an impressive score of 4.3 out of 5--these are a must-try if you visit! And as for the sunny-side-up eggs, they were good, but hey, eggs are eggs, right? Overall, the entire experience was quite enjoyable, from the delightful food to the warm atmosphere. A special shout-out goes to Ana, whose exceptional customer service made my visit even more memorable. The combination of fantastic service, inviting aesthetics, and satisfying food truly made for a perfect morning retreat. I can't recommend this spot enough for anyone looking for a relaxing place to unwind and focus on what matters.
