I had the owner reach out to me after my review. He offered a refund and another latte! I gladly accepted another latte but was not interested in a refund. The latte itself was very flavorful and while, I was upset about the way the latte was made, I still received a coffee. He explained that he spoke to his baristas and discussed the matter. I very much appreciated him reaching out and making me feel better about my first experience at Casa de Cafe. I also appreciate that he took his time to explain the situation, discuss the situation with his team, offer a refund AND a free latte. I look forward to trying Casa de Cafe again! Maybe we came on a bad day, but as they say "first impressions are everything". It was a Saturday morning and it wasn't too busy. Maybe about 4 people in Casa de Cafe. So we figured this should be quick! All we wanted was a iced coffee (black) and a coffee with milk to go. Well, we figured wrong. It took an amazing, 15 minutes to get our drinks. The guy, who I believed to be the owner was training someone on the register and the 3rd worker off to the side was looking lost. She was standing around doing nothing. Now, this wait only warrants 1 minus star but while we were waiting we saw fly's landing on the food that was about to go out to the people sitting down. It grossed us out. So that's another -1. Also it should be said that they don't' cook some if any pastries in house. They buy them from Sam's Club. We saw them pull them out of the Sam's Club box. I've been going to Casa de Café now for about two months straight. I am addicted to their. Horchata latte and pumpkin spice latte. Worst coffee I've ever had in my life. I wanted an iced cafe latte half sweet with oat milk, something I usually order at coffee shops. They said they do not have iced cafe lattes, they have cappuccinos that you can order iced as a medium or large. To be self-named as "house of coffee" that is already a red flag. Cappuccinos only come in one size and are a hot drink only. But I gave them the benefit of the doubt and ordered a large iced cappuccino with oat milk anyways. There is a sign that says "We control the sweetness", I'm not 100% sure what that means but I'm assuming that you cannot adjust the sweetness like you can at other coffee shops. I read the reviews and saw that their drinks are really sweet, I hate sweet drinks so I ordered drinks so I ordered it without any sweetener. I don't know what the heck was wrong with that coffee, it was savory and it tasted like a tamale. I tried to add sugar after the fact but it didn't do much, there was an odd taste to their coffee that I've never come across before. I'm not sure if their oat milk is the culprit or if their coffee is. One major thing I noticed is that they have powder that they use with a Blender Ball (the cups with lids that you shake) when they make their drinks. I don't think I heard them use their espresso machine once. I'm pretty sure that their coffee is dehydrated and that is why you cannot adjust the sweetness because it has sweetener in the powder. As a coffee lover I found this disturbing. Hopefully they will change their coffee process. read more

I was excited to visit this new cafe at the Quad in Whittier. My son came by over the holidays and said it was pretty good. I ordered the Azteca Moca and it tasted too sweet, and not enough like espresso. I would not come here if you are a serious coffee drinker since the drinks appear to skew towards more of the dessert-type drinks. I don't necessarily have a problem with that, but that is just not me. There are plenty of customers coming in and out of the cafe, and many seem to order the food. I may try that next time. Visited this place today and I was so disappointed. I wish I would of read the review where it talks about the caramel latte cause omg so true. My daughter and I are both coffee drinkers.. she likes it sweeter than me so ordered two caramel lattes iced and one of them less sweet. They were not good and tasted NOTHING LIKE CARAMEL or COFFEE. My daughter even said it was more like chocolate milk. Today was my first time going here with my sister-in-law I didn't want to give a bad review but the Cafe de Olla tasted a lot like tap water and the Nutella crepe did not have any Nutella inside just a little drizzle on top it was dry and also a little bit burnt, the only good thing about it were the strawberries and bananas and the whipped cream. I think that this place has a lot of improvement to work on. On the upside the employees were very nice!
