One of the best order of tortas I've had in a while. I tried the sirloin steak torta and "La Grande" torta and both were excellent. I find that green salsa is usually really difficult to get right at restaurants, but they nailed it! The red salsa is spicy and I couldn't get enough of the taste. Yelp has great reviews and a few people have told me about this place so we decided to check it out. Place was clean and empty when we came in on Monday afternoon. Ordered chile verde burrito, steak Torta and flauta plate. The guy taking the order was fast and friendly. A little tip: you get 5% discount for cash purchases so bring your $$. Got our food in less than 5 minutes. Let's start with the fact that the food looks good. Torta: according to the guy at the counter, it is the best selling Torta. I liked that the bread was soft but there's nothing spectacular about it. The meat wasn't seasoned properly and it was put together with some mayo, slices of avocado, a tomato slice and iceberg lettuce. Meh! However, the fries that came with it are properly cooked and seasoned. Chile Verde burrito: it's looked good, it tasted good. It seemed the beef has been simmering in the chile verde all day. It was so tender and flavorful. Flauta plate: the cheese on top of the beans bothered me. It looked like face cheese and it didn't even melt. There no flavor on the beans and the rice. We didn't eat it. The flautas are crispy. The good soft crisp you expect but the meat inside had no flavor what so ever. Plus side? It's cheap. Will I be back? Questionable. read more

We truly and simply enjoyed my visit here. It truly exceeded my expectations. We were actually prepared to have lunch to go but after talking to the wonderful staff we decided to sit down and dine in. I had a wonderful fresh fruit smoothie that was made to order. LOVE the taco plates here!! The sauces are WAY too spicy on the enchiladas so I can't enjoy them. The rice and beans are a little bland but I do love the cheese on the beans. CASA DE TORTA IS FAMILY. CASA DE TORTA IS HOME. I've been going to Dan's restaurant since 2001 when they were a little spot inside the Howdy's gas station (it used to be a Texaco and they had a different name back then). Then they moved to their own space behind the Walgreens and became Casa de Torta! I've been ordering their insanely delicious Chicken Quesadilla for going on 20 years now and I'm still not tired of it. Their Tortas and Taco Plates are amazing. They make these fruit smoothies that are absolutely bananas as well. But that Chicken Quesadilla, oh boy... that's my favorite! I order it with fresh avocado slices inside and I add their famous green salsa, a pinch of salt and WHAMO! Perfection! LOL. Dan the owner, Julio the Manager and sweet Esther the cook are like family to my mother and I. In 2018, my mom had 3 back-to-back strokes and everyone was telling me she was going to die. I needed funds immediately to keep up the mortgage payments on her house, pay medical bills, etc. etc. I made a flyer for the GoFundMe page I made for her. Dan didn't hesitate to let me hang it right on their front glass door so anyone coming in would see. Dan donated on the spot (despite going through his own serious health battles) and then the staff came together to donate a little extra. All I have in this world is my mom and my animals. She is the love of my life and for 8 months she was in the hospital with tubes and IVs sticking out of her. It was terrible. When I'd come home to shower, I would call in my order and pick it up the way I always do and they would always ask about my mom. Sometimes they would see how bad I'd been crying or how exhausted I was and they wouldn't accept my money for the food. These people were the family I never had in my time of need. They all love my mom and that fact alone makes me love them. My mom is alive but she remains brain damaged and paralyzed and I take care of her all by myself. We can't afford to eat at their restaurant like we used to because of my mom's expensive daily care, but every 8 months or so I save up to buy our favorite dishes from them. We rather eat there than any other restaurant in the city because these people are the best of the best when it comes to humanity. The amazing food is just a bonus. If you're looking to support a local business and get some AWESOME food while you're at it, this is the place to do it. Every time I have moved back to El Paso, the first thing I do is hit up Casa de Torta... not only because I crave their food ALL the time, but because Casa de Torta is home. Thank you!!! read more

Had a chili relleno torta for the first, it was amazing. It is fast casual so order at the register and they call your name. Menu is on large television screens so nice and easy to read. The bread with so light and airy, it doesn't weigh you down at all. The chili relleno was perfect, not greasy just light and flavorful with a lot of cheese oozing out.....yum. The lettuce, avocado, and tomato provided a nice fresh element. The red salsa was delicious and flavorful. The green was just a bit on the hotter side but without the flavor. Their tacos are AMAZING. They are my favorite here in El Paso. Plus their refríes beans are puro pinche awesome. This is one of those places that look nondescript, nothing fancy about it. But the food that comes out of the kitchen is great!! I usually only get chicken tacos so i can't speak on all the menu items. They do advertise menudo... not my forte but for those who eat it have to at least give this spot a chance. The customer service is great, the people are friendly. They have a drive up window!! There isn't a menu outside tho so you have to know what you want. I'm sure if you ask for a menu they'll give you one but in that case you might as well park and walk your happy ass inside. The decor on the inside is cute and they have two tvs to watch. It's located in one of those little shopping malls that you would otherwise drive right by, but you have to make the stop and check it out! This place is amazing. I wanted a burrito (super pregnant cravings) so I figured why not it's down the street. I ordered menudo hominy only and it was amazing the bolillo it came with was toasted and buttered. The menudo was piping hot and fresh. The burrito was a great size and tasted fresh my husband loved his. I got a potato egg and beans and he got a potato egg cheese beans and bacon said it was great. I also got an agua fresca melon flavor and it was just enough sweet and fresh. Highly recommend. The food here is delicious! I have tried both the Pork Ranchero and Chili Verde burritos and they were equally as delicious. The food tastes fresh and authentic. My husbands Torta Cubana smelled incredible! It was also fabulous. Even the simple cheese tortilla for my daughter was impressive. The prices are fabulous as well. There are few restaurants in the Northeast that I would say are outstanding. This is one of the exceptions. I have ordered many things and have yet to be disappointed. Their chile relleno burrito isn't too greasy (I've had places where the grease dissolves the tortillo). Before I was a pescetarian, I use to eat their wings. I would definitely recommend the boneless variety which are chicken strips, not the nuggets you usually get. While I like their chile flavors, I much prefer lemon pepper of garlic Parmesan (both of which go well on fries). Since I don't eat red meat or poultry anymore, I almost always order their avocado and cheese torta. By itself, the sandwich is amazing...adding a little of their homemade green chile salsa...it is sublime. Finally, if you're here, make sure that you get the aguas frescas or the licuados. Both are freshly made and aren't sweet. You can taste the fruit(S) it's suppose to taste like. read more

Clean, fairly corporate casual appearance inside even though it's not a chain. It seemed like a surprisingly competently run restaurant for a strip mall mom and pop shop in this town. I had a pair of breakfast taquitos and they were quickly served and competently made. They didn't blow me away, but I obviously wasn't trying any of the popular menu items. I would definitely try it again and expect I'd upgrade a star if I tried some more menu items. Biggest downside: They accept credit cards, but multiple signs are posted designed to make you feel like you're murdering their children's future if you actually use one and impose merchant fees on them. When this place first opened it was actually pretty good. It was clean, the food was tasty and well prepared, and service was quick. I ordered their lunch special yesterday thinking it would be readily available and cooked to standard. What I got after waiting 20 minutes during the height of lunch hour and with only two other customers was very dry/overcooked chicken covered in shredded cheese that seemed to have come straight from the refrigerator without being allowed to melt -and no hot sauce or salsa.
