I've been wanting to try out the new location because this was always my favorite pizza place. I was hesitant because it's been years and I thought there is no way it's still going to be as good and I'm so glad I was wrong! It wasn't very busy at lunch time for dining in so our server was really attentive even though she had tables inside too. There was a nice patio to sit outside on a beautiful day and watch everyone walking by(the bees were a tad annoying). There was street parking (metered) right across the restaurant so it was convenient or it's right at main so you could even take the train there. read more

The Casa Di Pisa is a house in a small city in Italy famous for a building that looks like it's falling over. Whereas the Casa Di Pita is a Greek place. And the Casa Di Pina Colada is a bar specializing in girlie cocktails (my fave kind). Whereas the Cashier Di Pizza is the cute guy who rang me up for my slices the most recent time I came in here. What to get: Late Night Slices. This is the new location of the pizza legend that used to be on Elmwood. Their slices are still really wet, delicious, yummy, and typical Buffalonian, however their prices have gone way up, so I understand all of the negative reviews. However I review based on price alone, and their products are still yummy-as-f*** (YAF to hipsters). If "Consistent" was the name of a band, then this pizza place would be the lead singer. In the sense that it is "In Consistent." Seriously though, the first time I came here (a couple of months back), I got two slices and they were the biggest, hottest, wettest, juiciest, sexiest slices of Buffalo Pizza I can remember eating. Then the second time I came here the slices were lukewarm and dry and smaller and definitely not a 5-star experience. The third time, the experience was somewhere between the two... so I have no idea what the norm is. I guess a fourth visit is on the proverbial cards. The Casa Di Priya is the house of my cute Hindu ex-girlfriend. Actually it's her Dad's house and if he had ever found me in there with her, well... I wouldn't be writing this review today. Names have been changed to protect the guilty. So I'm not sure exactly what to tell you about CDP. They make quintessential, doughy, wet, juicy, cheesy, saucy Buffalo-style pizza and they make it very well - sometimes. If you go on a day when the slices are akin to my first visit, then you're in luck. They're not too pricy for a place near downtown ($2.50 tax included), and they're juicy and will fill you up. On the other hand I can't guarantee you that you'll get amazing slices, since once they were just good and once they were, well, bad. The Casa Di Peter is where Mr. Sellers, Mr. Gabriel, Mr. Parker aka Spiderman, and Mr. North (the one who erupts like a fountain, famously so... OK this is awkward. My friend told me about it), all share a room. Apparently, in that household at least, Mr. Gabriel is, in fact, not the "Sledgehammer" as previously advertised. That mantra is owned by one of the other three residents and I shall say no more. In addition to the on-again-off-again slices, I have tried the dirt cheap Chicken Finger Sub (when it was on special... a full size sub for $5), and it was... well, dirt cheap. It wasn't the best CFS I've had, but then again it was far from the worst. Pretty average really. Not too much chicken on there, but you can't expect too much for $5. My friend who loves CFS sandwiches said that it was delicious. But then she says that about nearly everything. The Casa Di Lolita is not worth visiting. You might think you're having fun, but being in jail is no fun. Take it from my friends Bubba The Lifer and Large Marge. Actually that's my sister and brother. :( Finally, the great thing about CDP is that it's open super late. I think it's something like 11.30 or 12, which means that when most places are done for the night, you can get big, cheap, hot slices here to fill you right up. If you miss the window and CDP has closed, then venture over to Hertel Avenue where Zip's (yum!) and Daddio's (decent with much better service than Zip's) await and are open until 2 or 3am. And of course, let's not forget that the Casa Di Panochita is where you go in Mexico as the equivalent to the Casa Di Lolita aforementioned. But again, I have to strongly advise against this. It's just unethical. Then again so are most of my reviews. read more

Had a Philly steak sub with fries. Very, very disappointing. Fries soggy and cold...must have been sitting in the basket for a while before plating. Sub was seriously disappointing!!! Chopped up so fine it looked like they put it in the blender. Barely any cheese and a few small pieces of peppers but no sight of any onions or mushrooms. Got a Stromboli for take out and it was delicious! You may open the box and think that is small but boy will you be wrong. It is packed with so much cheese pepperoni and green olives. The crust was so crispy and peppered with Parmesan cheese on top. You will be fighting to finish it because you are so full but it is so tasty that you can't stop. I'll admit I'm bias as I have friends who work here but I've made many more just coming to visit those people because the owners and staff are just so friendly and wonderful. The bar/dining room is a pleasant setting along with their outdoor patio. There's an expansive menu with lots of great choices. The Goombadi anything is always a win. Their salads are huge. The new location is pretty cool. I appreciate that they have the regular pizza parlor style in the front, and the restaurant/bar style in the back. I sat at the bar and their drinks are reasonably priced. Grabbed a slice of pizza and it was just as I remembered. The location is a nice size. It can get s little loud and I felt bad for the bartenders because they looked like they were EVERYWHERE! Overall not a bad experience. They use paper straws which is always interesting. Went to the new location again for lunch. Food is still great. Service was excellent. The Casa Di Pizza is still doing what they've been doing for all these years and they just get better. I've been going here since 1969 when my mom walked us down to have a pizza. The food has always been good, actually beyond good. It's one thing to order a pizza and take it home, and another to order it and eat it fresh. The pizza is great, the dough is nice and light and full of bod. Most pizza places that are chains use a bread like dough, because it cooks faster and more even. Not here, the dough is fresh. Our last visit we ordered Calamari, a cup of Minestrone, my wife had a Calzone, which was at least 2 inches thick. I ordered a single order of crisp wings, and they came out crisp and hot and 2 slices of pizza. We had food leftover to take home. The burgers are great, the chicken or steak ceaser subs are amazing. Now this place isn't hip, or flashy or trendy, but it's been around for a very long time. If you love chain pizza, you probably won't like this. read more

So this is probably one of the worst places I've been in Buffalo based on service alone. My friend and I came in and sat in a booth to the side of the door. It wasn't busy but had a few ppl in here with 3 servers. We didn't get approached until 20 minutes after we walked in and it was only because we grabbed menus for ourselves. We were greeted and we ordered water for starters while we looked at the menus. We had intentions on ordering drinks but that didn't happen. Our server JUDY was just as horrible as the food. She was very rude the entire experience. We asked for drink menu but never asked what we wanted to order. She rushed us for our food order and when we asked for more time she didn't come back until 20 mins later. Her table manners were rude as in she let our dirty plates that we finish just sit and stack up. She consistently reached over my food and drinks the entire night. She didn't check on us the entire meal... just horrible. I would not recommend ANYone to come here. And if you do please ask for anyone other than Judy's rude self! I'm usually an excellent tipper but I left her a NOT so nice note and big fat $0 tip! read more

I visited the E. Mohawk location downtown the other day; bought two slices, which came out piping hot, and tasted every bit like a NY-style pizzeria helping would. Each slice is the width of about two hands with fingers side-by-side, and the dough made-to-fold. Not my favorite pizza joint in Buffalo by a long shot ($3 and some odd change per slice is alright and the $6.50 chips, slice, and pop combo is a good deal for the business person on-the-run), but they are definitely worth the lunch break. Every once in a while I get a craving for THE most delicious spinach artichoke dip in existence, and I come to Casa di Pizza. The new location is nice. Don't be confused...you have to walk to the back to get to the restaurant area. The take out section is in the front when you come in. It can get a little noisy when there's a game on, and seems to be a hot spot before a Sabres game, but it's okay. The spinach artichoke will make it all better. I'm not kidding when I say this dip...order it with the garlic bread, duh...is so delicious it might make you weep. It's so thick, so creamy, so flavorful, so cheesy, and so homemade. Slather a giant spoonful (after dealing with the humongous cheese-pull) on a piece of that garlic bread and sit back, close your eyes, and savor the deliciousness. To start of the pizzas looked worse than a DIY or take home oven pizza. (greasy, too much cheese, and thick) As we walked into the front entrance door; presented in a glass heater and for the world to see was their corner store/ gas station pizza. As if to say this is our pride and joy, it's "good pizzas". I disregard that and walked into a nice dining room that had a atmosphere of any Americanized Italian restaurant. As our nice server hands us our plates and silverware one of my friends noticed two plate stuck together; finding out there was chewing gum stuck between them. Also my silverware had a piece of something hanging off it. Our group ordered two large pizzas and 60 wings; I was hoping that the pizzas we ordered would look better and less greasy than the corners store pizza... ended up being the same ones. On the other hand their wings look excellent and smelled great. Since I eat Vegetarian and gluten free there was a couple GF pasta options for me. I had the spinach and artichoke pasta which was also greasy, accompanied by a house salad ( best thing I had all night ...) Well, I suppose this review is a bit biased. I've loved this place my whole life, so much it really felt like home. And who isn't biased about loving their home? :-) Casa di Pizza has been known as 'The Coz' to me forever. I grew up eating spaghetti in the booths of the original Elmwood location. As a young adult, I kept coming and eventually it became a regular spot for me and my boyfriend. We loved it, so much that when we tied the knot we had our wedding reception here. Then we kept coming in with our kids after that. So it was a sad, sad day when the original Coz closed. Well, we finally finished grieving that loss, and made it into the new restaurant. Parking was not easy; we couldn't find any street parking nearby, and caved to pay $6 at the lot across the street from the main entrance. The Mohawk Street door enters into the pick-up counter area, which connects via a hallway back to the sit-down restaurant and bar. It's a trendy comfortable space, definitely more modern than the old Coz's vintage charm. We ate in with our kids and shared a large deep-dish (which, by the way, was our special request for our head table back on our wedding night). The pizza was as delicious as ever: hot melty cheese a top a nicely seasoned sauce, all adorned with curly grease cups of pepperoni and a thick doughy wall of crust. The service was great. Our server was actually a waitress at the old place, and at our wedding. It must be a decent place to work if servers stick around for 11+ years. I'm glad we finally made it in to the new Coz. It's not as charming as my heart and all my memories remember the old place to be, but a new home takes some getting used to, some time to really feel settled in. We'll be back again to keep settling into this new Coz, one deep-dish at a time. read more

If you love city walks and take out with your dog, You'll love it here. Their patio is dog friendly with water bowls AND if you're getting take out from the front window area - they'll let you bring your dog in! I was so worried about tying my pup outside to a bench because people steal dogs here. They let me bring him in and gave him quite a few pepperoni! They're so nice. Love it.
