    Shabu shabu veggie plate

Came here because I was craving soup/shabu shabu but my partner didn't want soup and just wanted meat. The price is good and I like that they have an option where you can do the kbbq and the shabu shabu. We came here Sunday afternoon and it was not very busy. We were seated quickly. The restaurant is fairly big. There is a buffet section near the front of the restaurant. All the Korean side dishes are at the buffet. They had a fairly decent selection. They also had some hot items like egg rolls which were pretty good. They had radish paper at the buffet but it was oddly thick and crunchy. Only time I had radish paper that actually tasted like biting into a raw red radish. I did not like that for the shabu shabu they give you a prepared selection of veggies/soup toppings. They had the thick noodles which were not very good. I wish that they could have these items in the buffet so that you could grab what you want instead of getting this prepared tray. I also wish they had different noodle options. I did the beef broth and shrimp broth. The broths tasted watered down and were not very savory. The only upside was that the meat cuts were tasty. I think they have a good selection of meat items and would come back for the kbbq aspect of this restaurant but I would not recommend the shabu shabu part.

My family and I had been eagerly anticipating our dinner at Bwon Shabu & BBQ, a restaurant I had bookmarked on Yelp for quite some time. On Friday, July 3, 2026, we arrived at the restaurant at 4:50 pm, just a few minutes before it officially opened at 5:00 pm. We placed our names on the waitlist and were promptly seated as soon as the doors opened. The meat was absolutely delicious, and I thoroughly enjoyed the self-serve side dishes and salad. By 6:00 pm, only half of the restaurant was filled with patrons, which was a pleasant surprise. We decided to order more meat, and it arrived promptly at our table. The customer service was exceptional throughout our meal. For two adults and one child, our bill came to $80, which was an incredible deal for a satisfying and enjoyable dinner. The restaurant has ample seating. Whenever you arrive, you'll be seated.

Great service and lots of food choices. I love the service and meat is great quality. They even had the World Cup on. I have to say this please is near and clean and close to my house so I will be back.

So glad we finally came back and gave BWON another visit. Over 4 years ago, it was still Covid times and dining out was still weird. Now, the buffet is open and sushi is fresh, the panchan is so much better, the bbq and shabu meat options are still great. The shabu broth options are still flavorful. Not sure if the happy hour deal is daily, but on a Friday from 5-6pm they give a 10% discount for HH! Staff is still super friendly. Service has also sped up as well. Oh, and they give marshmallows on a stick to toast over the flame and chocolate syrup to dip in for dessert. Yum! Just missing the graham crackers lol.

It's been a while since we came and we're happy and satisfied. Plenty of seating and the service is good. Attended to in good time and didn't have to wait long to get our food. There is a small lot out front for parking, and I suspect you can park on the street when the lot fills up. We happened to come by during the Korea vs. Mexico game, and understandably, the place gets packed, with a line forming outside. We somehow beat the rush by about 30 minutes and were seated at a table as soon as we entered. We also realized then that they didn't have the all-you-can-eat option, so we ended up ordering the chicken wings, their version of loaded fries, and steamed rice. We also placed the order via the QR code. We had our drinks delivered to our table shortly afterward. The food, however, was taking a long time to get to our table. It may have been a combination of the FIFA World Cup and a staff shortage, but when we were there, there was only 1 kitchen staff member and 1 wait staff member. The lady on the wait staff did everything from serving food to accepting new customers and topping off water for all the tables. A wall separates the restaurant; there is a front room and an inside room, and both rooms had televisions broadcasting the game. The food itself was decent for the price that they charge. The chicken wings came out piping hot, crispy on the outside, and juicy inside. They have some options for different wing flavors. The fries were also delicious and well-fried. I hope the restaurant invests in more wait staff because there were times we needed something from the wait staff. Seeing how busy she was, or sometimes she's just in the front room, we haven't seen her in a while to get whatever we needed. Overall, it was a good experience. The food was good, and the atmosphere is very unique; it's definitely a nice place to get some Korean street food when you're in the area. The only things to note are that parking is limited, food will take a while to cook as it is made fresh, and there will be some waiting to be done if you need wait staff. Last thing to note: I love that they had some Korean Fusion dishes, and I wish I had a bigger stomach to try these as well during our visit, perhaps another time!

Menu was straightforward but could benefit from having a description in case you're not familiar (like my BF). * Service: the reason I'm docking by 1 star. The lady was nice, but not very attentive, & it wasn't like it was busy. We needed to ask or follow up on 2-3 things. My BF was eyeing some dessert when we were first ordering but she didn't try to sell it to us ‍ * Food: surprisingly good as it was both our first time there. He got the adobo bowl & the chicken was tender/juicy & pretty much fell off the bone. I got the tocino plate & the meat was flavorful with just the right amount of garlic in the rice. We also got one chicken skewer & one pork skewer, which was a bit smaller than I'm used to but the smoky flavor & tenderness was spot on. My only issue was the portion compared to the price. * Final Thoughts: mom/pop Filipino food that is great on flavor but leaves something to be desired with customer service. Would recommend & will return again for the food. * Final Grade: B+ or 8.5/10

When asked why I was charged full price for the sandwiches, the lone cashier/cook gave me a blank stare and responded, "Well...I already charged you so.." Oof alright, not going to argue over $5 with a food service employee. Lone cashier then ends up cooking the food for us (2nd employee came in when we were almost done with our meal). Ownership should really consider providing better training to their staff. Cashier/cook didn't want to honor the price difference either because she didn't know how to or didn't care enough to do so without a manager present. Would this situation have turned out better if there was more knowledgeable staff or a manager onsite? Who knows. Food was decent, but I probably wouldn't go back. The spiciness was lacking, felt toned down for Korean heat. Popcorn chicken was better than the sandwiches imo.
