Drinks are A1...strong and pretty tasty. All you can ask for at typical local Mexican restaurant. Service is really great as well. Servers are helpful, attentive and pleasant for the most part. Food is what will be the ultimate reason for my 3 stars. It's pretty bland and little under average and I'm a huge Mexican cuisine connoisseur here. I've been twice and ordered chicken enchiladas (pretty dry) and the quesadillas (which is an appetizer). Lots of meat but little to no cheese, dry and very mini portions of quac/sour cream compared to the price and order. I was really hoping for a good experience, but unfortunately, it was terrible. It took an hour to get our dinner. When it did come, we only got half, and it was cold. When the rest came, we didn't get everything and even though I asked.... it never came. We were only checked on twice while being there for 2 hours. I sent my plate back because it was so cold and wound up just eating half my daughter's order. They offered to redo it, but by the time it would have come, everyone else in my party would have been done eating. When we got the check, my plate was still included. They removed it, but the manager didn't say much at all, and neither did the staff. It's like they didn't know how to handle a bad experience and were just wanting us to leave. I honestly think the place may be too big for the kitchen staff. It was a full house, and we could see many other patrons were frustrated, too. We ordered 2 plates; CHORIZO MIGAS; My wife said it was very bland all around had about 1/3 of it and gave up FAJITA; Let me say the waiter gave me the FAJITA plate and not the CASA G'S SIZZLING FAJITAS !! I even asked when the plate was brought out, why it wasn't in a sizzling plate and he said something like that a large plater that costed 60.00 and I said wait what for Fajita's Sizzling ? Third breakfast attempt. Food not seasoned, order served wrong, clearly sat under hot light for 10 minutes or so. Eggs overdone and cold, neat trick. Sent plate back, declined on remake. Waiter said new cooks are the issue, manager #1 said the kitchen doesn't like to waste food, manager #3 offered half off my bill and told me all about the mariachi bands. They have a great space, nice folks working there, just need to nail that serving food as a restaurant thing. I don't think they are far off, but some back of house training on menu prep, foh in using complicated wrist super computers to take orders, and introducing the whole kitchen to a salt shaker would go along way. We really wanted to like this place because it's close to home but tonight was super disappointing. It really wasn't very packed but it took 15+ minutes for our drink order and another 45+ to get our soups. We've always gone to Casa Garcia's around lunchtime (ask for Israel, he's amazing!), as the service, the steak fajitas and top shelf margaritas have always been a big hit with us. But this time we decided to go on a Friday night--big mistake! I saw in a previous review that someone's favorite part of their Friday evening there was the mariachi band, but we found it to be so horrible that we eventually left without ordering dinner. The musicians were so far beyond loud, there are just no words...the woman who was singing was practically screaming, and the trumpet player was pointing his trumpet straight at us so that our ears were breaking. We were literally yelling as loud as we could to one another at our table as well as to our waiter, none of us could even hear each other. We screamed our margarita order to the waiter who tried hard to understand what we were requesting, but while we waited for the drinks, we literally could not bear the noise any longer and went to the bar for our drinks, deciding to skip dinner. I tried to tell the server behind the bar that we'd have our drinks there, but she couldn't hear me either. My husband complained to the manager about the volume level, but he seemed surprised to hear that, even though it was obvious no one could hear each other. We guzzled our drinks just to get out of there quickly, and as we walked out the door, a man at least 25 years younger than us came out shaking his head as well--he said that on Friday nights, the band is so loud that he and his wife won't go there, they just do take-out. I would like to give this restaurant 4 stars, but the service is lacking even during the slow hours. The food is very good and comes out quickly and is hot. However once you receive your food, the staff doesn't come back. Many walk by, many are near but no one refills your water or checks to see if the food is good. There seems to be no team work, each server is on their own and if they have a problem no one helps them. There are managers present but they don't bother to check on the customers either So the customer suffers, waiting for food or water or their check. read more

This time we got food for the whole family. We got tacos, mole, horchata, and tamales. Very glad they have some more authentic favourites like mole and horchata. I know they are new here but they got a lot of kinks to work out. I didn't get a drink menu when they sat me down, the waiter asked immediately what I wanted to drink. I asked for a frozen margarita with gold tequila, which should have been their reserva margarita, he brought out their standard frozen bottom shelf tequila margarita. The queso was good, kid and I both enjoyed. They brought out steak fajitas for two, very over cooked and not good tasting for the price. Papasitos would be a few dollars more for medium rare filet mignon. Also found a plastic brown piece in the fajitas. Fajitas comparable to Rosa cafe and chuys, which isn't good to say. Flour tortillas were good, corn needs work. This was the wife and my first visit to the new location close to our home. (I've eaten at Casa Garcia in Pflugerville many times when I worked at Dell!) I was pleased to see that the food was very similar and will be thrilled to go back. We had the numero uno combo, no beans but double rice, with chili con queso on top. *Dont Waste Your Money* Ordered a dozen tamales, Chimichanga, and a three Taco plate along with a large Horchata to go. brought my order home and opened the to-go containers to find items I ordered and didn't order.. we received the tamales and a chimichanga and both were sub par. Tamales were way greasy and outer tortilla of the chimichanga was not at all crispy.. was more like a burrito and not fried at all. The only side was some rice. I asked for a large horchata and received a medium cup and was told that's as large a cup that they had to go. We did not get the tacos that were ordered but instead received Mac and cheese that taste like it came out of a box with rice and beans and the worst carnitas I have ever had. I made a call to the location and spoke to the manager but he offered nothing. I paid over $50 for this and could barely consume any of it. We will never go back! read more

I should've learned my lesson two times before! Again, they always seem to add something on your bill that you just don't agree with. This time I order to be enchiladas with chili con queso sauce and they charged me for the two enchiladas and then $3.98 for the queso. I tried to understand the reasoning behind that because if you do a substitution for chili con queso it's only $1.99. It may seem petty, but this is the third time on three different ingredients or items and now I'm just frustrated with this place. I will have to say the food is very good. read more

Went to eat breakfast today , 3/24/24, Place was looking clean and pleasant to the eye. Restaurant was just getting busy When we entered ( only waited about 10 minutes to be seated) was given menu Then given chips and dip , no asking about water need, or if we wanted anything to drink, no utensils were given. We had to wait about 15-20 minutes before ordering our food . Waited another 15 minutes before it came . We did get our coffee 5 minutes before food came out. Had to ask for 2nd cup of coffee which came out cold And we had to ask for check.no one came to give us the check and that was another 10-15 minutes to get a check.
