Tried to tune the furnace anyway to accommodate it, which was actually kind of fun to watch all the different ways it could be done. No other HVAC technician I've ever worked with before has done that. A/C maintenance went great too. First company I've ever hired that didn't try to sell me an entirely new unit just due to a faulty capacitor. Even gave me the model number of the capacitor to replace if I want to save money and do it myself (I'm reasonably handy so it's something I'd probably do). I'll be using them for as long as they give great service!

They said they could try to do a repair for about $1.3k but that they couldn't guarantee the repair would be effective because of the condenser. They then tried to sell me on their highest end heat-pump for about $24k, which was too much for our needs, since our furnace was also functional. We ended up choosing a basic AC replacement for around $9k. They were able to install the new unit two days later. However, on the day of the install, they saw some surface level rust on the furnace heat exchanger and tried to get me to replace it for an additional $4k. When I said no, they backed off and recommended a CO alarm (which we already have). It felt like I was being heavily taken advantage of because I was in a dire situation. The installation went fine, but my experience of being pressured and hard sold to during the process made it feel like I was being milked for every penny they could get out of me. Take this as a precaution to check your HVAC AC/furnace/heat pump regularly, and get multiple quotes before deciding on work. If you go with this company, they will seemingly do an effective job, but they will try their best to get as much money out of you as possible.

I just wanted to express my gratitude to your company in general (21 year customer) and to Marvin…read moreD. in particular for the prompt response to the "chirping" noise in my vents after my new furnace installation last September. It took multiple "tinkerings" to resolve the problem. What I really appreciated was that as soon as I called, Marvin adjusted his next day's schedule and came out to my home and worked several hours, not leaving until he had thoroughly tested and verified that the problem was resolved. No vague promises of "I will see when I can get to it", he arrived the next morning and stayed until the problem was resolved. BTW I was very impressed by Marvin's HVAC knowledge, as well as his patient and friendly attitude while working in my home. Thanks!

Then, earlier this August, the AC stopped working, and an All Temp tech came out to investigate. Below are the events that unfolded. Aug 5 - Tech comes to house and identifies part that needs to be replaced Aug 10 - Parts person at All Temp had not ordered part because he was unable to find the part number. My husband found the part number in about 5 minutes by looking at the manual for our machine online. After we provided the part number to All Temp, they finally ordered the part (which they said needed to be shipped from China) Aug 13 - I called the sales person who sold us our unit and asked him to help us because we had not received an update on when the part would be received despite calling numerous times. He looked into it and said they would order us a whole new compressor instead of just the individual part of the compressor, and that would be received in their office "soon." Aug 17 - I called the sales person again because we had not received an update. He said the compressor would be in soon. Aug 19 - Received a call from All Temp saying they received our compressor, and they would come and install it the next day. I told them we were out of town, but our neighbor would be there. Aug 20 - A tech came to install the compressor. We received a call when they were done and the AC was working, and we were asked to pay $1,690. This was the estimate quoted to us on Aug 19 when they said they had the part. Aug 22 - Our neighbor informed us when we got home that All Temp DID NOT INSTALL A COMPRESSOR! We called and asked them what they actually did and why we were charged $1,690. As of Aug 26th, they still have not provided an answer. All Temp 1) misdiagnosed the issue with the AC, needlessly causing us to be without AC for over 2 weeks while we waited for a part we didn't need and 2) charged us for services they didn't perform.

So, that seemed a little outrageous. Contacted nick and from the onset knew that this would be a different experience. Let the glazing begin! Cannot say enough about nick and the business that he runs. Was a pleasure to work with him diagnosing the issue (he took a look at the photo l, asked me to retrieve the model number on the stove/griddle and saved me that absurd 210 fee) - gave me variable pricing between generic and OEM parts, and was quick to schedule service rather than having a lead time of weeks out like the other companies were requesting. On top of that, he went out of his way to take a look at my dishwasher as a courtesy as it was giving us an error just before he left our home. People like nick remind me that there remain honest and hard-working service people out there. Super glad that I found his company and would not hesitate to have him out again to perform any repair as needed. Thanks again, nick!

I will copy the review I wrote about ABC, which lead me to hiring Hero Air in the first place to give you the full picture: Update: ABC did show up at 8pm the following night and proceeded to quote me $1,363 to replace some components and $475 to deep clean the condenser coil. I was paying for their VIP service and that is the quote I got. I said no way since I trust them zero. Got Hero Air, who get amazing reviews on Yelp to come out and were there within 2 hours. Turns out I needed a new thermostat, which all in for diagnosing, running out to get the thermostat, and installing for $407. He also recommended a deep cleaning and charged me $150, so for $557 instead of $1,833 which wouldn't have even fixed the problem I am up and running 4 hours after requesting an appointment. So when I said above they hope idiots will let them get away with charging triple, I was not exaggerating. ABC deserves to go out of business. It seems like with their AI reservation system and "fluid" scheduling they probably go bought out by private equity and it seems like they are running themselves into the ground.
