This is the best Mexican restaurant in Livermore! The service is friendly, the food is great and the margaritas are awesome!

My family has been going to this restaurant since it opended. we have experienced several different owners. The food has always been good (not great) but the service has always sucked. The staff is very friendly but they don't know how to wait on the customers. It is amazing to me that no one has corrected this after all these years. When we go my kids get their own chips and salsa otherwise we would never get any. We used to go because it was a good local hangout but we finally said enough is enough. read more

I guess I will never find the "perfect" Mexican place. We decided to come here and try it out since Casa Orozco is crap. When we came in the place was not too busy and we got sat down. We ordered right away, the waiter was friendly. One of the orders we ordered was wrong, and after the food was brought to us we did not see the waiter again. He explained to us that he had a take out order. Hello, are your customers not as important? Im sure you have other staff that can help you with that. A decent mexican restaurant in Livermore. The atmosphere is very spanish, which is a must have at any mexican restaurant.. I have been here 3 or 4 times with friends and family. The portions are huge and there is no way you can finish you're entire meal, unless you unbutton your top button. Ha! Not that that's a bad thing, since their prices are very reasonable. Usually go to Taqueria Consuelito once a week for lunch, but it has gone downhill lately so was looking for something new. I'll keep looking. The one redeeming quality was the chips and salsa which were very good (fresh and quite spicy). I had a Fajita Burrito which is covered in a red enchilada sauce that is slightly sweet in flavor. The burrito had onions, carrots, and green peppers inside which sounded good on the menu, but the menu didn't describe them as half-cooked. Overall the food (minus the salsa) was very bland and boring. Also, $13 (including tip) is quite expensive for a burrito (lunch menu) and a glass of water. Not sure how it has averaged 4 stars on Yelp. Even with something weird going on at Taqueria Consuelito it still is superior to the quality of food you will receive here. read more

New to Livermore and trying to find my "go to" restaurants. Ate at Casa Mexico last night. I was seated promptly and brought chips and salsa almost immediately. Had to wait a little while to order but not an excessive amount of time. I've eaten at a lot of Mexican style restaurants and experienced very good to food I just didn't like but I've never before experienced food that had no flavor at all. The rice, beans, enchiladas and sauce all were so bland that I literally couldn't distinguish one from the other. The chips were pretty good though. Ok it had good service and fairly clean, though the floor was full of crumbs as if they just hosted a toddler convention. So three stars for that, but the food....The food was lukewarm at best. After reading the good reviews, I was very dissappointed with our take-out from Casa Mexico. My husband didn't even eat his burrito that was covered in raw onions, who tops a burrito with raw onions. Anyway, the food was horrible and we will not be going back. I am glad there are so many other better options in Livermore. read more

Local neighborhood secret...Great food and friendly service. We frequent there often and the portions are always more than adequate.

They were slow and they gave me $11 burrito that only cost a $1 at Taco Bell. $11 for a couple water and a small extra small burrito with only Rice and Bean. read more

I don't get it. This place seemed to be doing a fairly good business for a midday lunch on a Saturday. And they got a fair number of 5 star reviews. But the reality for me was that this is without question the most bland, Mexican food I've ever ate in my entire life. It had literally no flavor at all. Taco Bell would be a HUGE improvement at a fraction of the price. And the person I dined with thought the same thing. Add the slow as molasses waitress service and prep time --- and I think this is the most deserved 1-star rating, I've ever gave. read more

One of my all-time favorite Mexican restaurants but the service is indeed slow. They serve people who get there after you before you and don't even apologize for being so slow. That frosts me. But the food is worth the wait. The pollo en crema: amazing! Even better as left overs. read more

We loved everything that we ordered to go: chimichangas, shredded beef enchilada, chile relleno and the beans and rice. Both plates were very filling and we had enough left over for lunch the next day. Only weird thing: the to go containers were card board dinner plates that they had lined in tin foil and then wrapped in foil. I like Mexican food - I like the spices, the aromas, the flavour, the presentation...I don't like Casa Mexico's version of any of these. I heard this place is fun and the food is good well I must say I won't be going back. i don't like giving out bad ratings and usually eat at a restaurant a couple of times before rating it but I can't give this restaurant more than two stars unfortunately. We went for a late lunch on a sunny Sunday recently and decided to sit outside on their covered patio - nice. We waited forever for drinks, and to be able to make our order. The food came somewhat quickly and it was horrid (once we were able to eat it for we had to wait for our cutlery!) I ordered a chicken chimichanga cause I was in the mood for a crunchy entree - it was soggy and the tortilla was gummy. The chicken inside had no flavour. I had one bite and left it. The man ordered the Sunday special, Chile Colorado. The meat was very tender but the flavour? Where did it go? He put some Tabasco sauce on it and it spruced up a bit, but it was disappointing. We ordered two beers, and two entrees and for the cost it was not a great value at all. As an aside we had previously ordered take out from this restaurant and it was 'meh' also - so two times, you're out. read more

We have been to this restaurant several times and have been neither so impressed or disappointed that I felt the need to write a review until two weeks ago and today. Let me start by saying that there are other Mexican restaurants that are my first choice. We only go to Casa Mexico when the others are full (maybe that should be our first hint), as was tonight. Two weeks ago, I had the taco salad. The shell tasted a bit fishy, but I didn't think much of it and let it go Tonight I had the tostada salad and when I got to the shell, it was like eating a piece of fried fish. It even smelled fishy. The oil they were frying the tortillas in had gone rancid, and I don't think it was changed from a few weeks ago. When I told the waiter, he chuckled, because he thought I was kidding. When I got it through to him that I was not kidding, he offered to give me another salad... no thank you. Others rave about this place, but I do not see it. read more

The food is pretty good, but everything about it is more casual, lower quality feel. The decor was minimal and old, food portions small, area is run-down. Food tasted good, a little salty. We've tried it 3 times over many years, but just could not get anyone to agree to go there. in comparison, we go to Caso Arrosco maybe 30 times already. read more

Casa Mexico - not the best Mexican Food, but certainly not the worst. I was not greatly impressed with any one thing. Some items were better than others. The Chicken Avocado Tostada was pretty good. The Chille Rellenos was okay, but a bit tough. The rice and beans needed flavor. Adding salt helped. read more

My husband and I are from Oakland and found out about Casa Mexico through a friend that lives in Livermore about 3 years ago. We would come out to Livermore just to eat here as often as possible. We just moved to Livermore about 2 months ago and couldn't be happier to have our favorite Mexican food down the street. My favorite is their chile relleno. It is the closest thing to what I grew up eating in my family (I am Mexican) and they make it very traditionally. My husband loves their chile Colorado and the Polla en Crema and Aroz con Pollo are also amazing. The chips and salsa rock! Try mixing the hot and mild salsas together when you go. read more

Ay Dios Mio - what happened? This used to be my favorite Mexican joint, especially because I'm a whimp when it comes to spice and their mild salsa is just perfect. I loved the food and the service but lately it all went to shit. I takes 1 1/2 hours for a dinner for 2 because they just leave you there. Last time I found a rock like substance in my refried beans. Not bad! I had the pork carnitas entree for dinner and it hit the spot. The pork was flavorful and I appreciate that it came with a mound of guacamole. The rice wasn't as flavorful or red as the rice at some Mexican restaurants, but it tasted more homemade and authentic. Also the salsa here is the bomb!! Loved the spicy, the mild was a little bland. This is one of my Favorite Mexican food place to. They have good service and excellent food. I love that they have great variety not just your typical tacos and burritos (which are great as well). My favorite dish to share is the Cancun Platter, it is amazing with chicken, shrimp, mushrooms, and more and then topped with jack cheese. They also have great stiff Margaritas. With an overall great atmosphere! I would definitely suggest it if you are wanting some good Mexican food. read more

After searching for the last year living in the tri-city area I think I've found the ideal "sit-down" Mexican restaurant in Casa Mexico. One staple of a decent Mexican joint is the quality of the refried beans and they are delicious and authentic here. The quality of the pork is another thing I look at and it excellent here - I tried carnitas in the enchiladas and it hit the spot - moist and flavorful but not overloaded with fat. Portions are huge, like "two-meal" huge. Overall better than anything I've found in Pleasanton or Dublin thus far. Maybe Livermore is the place for Mexican joints or maybe I just lucked out with this place. Highly recommended. read more
