El Cerrito Taqueria is officially that spot. My coworker eats here daily, so I finally gave in and joined and I've been hooked ever since. The pollo asada taco salad bowl is my go-to now. So full of flavor, super fresh, and leaves me feeling satisfied without being heavy. The place is clean, welcoming, and has a chill, friendly vibe. They even offer fresh chips upon request, which is such a nice touch. You can tell they care about both their food and their customers. I'm genuinely so glad I gave this place a try. Now me and my coworker are regulars. If you're in Livermore and love good, fresh Mexican food this is your sign to pull up.

This has been my go to taqueria in the area. I especially like their Al Pastor. They are the only ones to pan fry it to crispy before serving. Decided to DoorDash this time, but service there is always good. The ambiance is like your typical taqueria, and feels clean. This time I had: Shrimp burrito 4/5: first time ordering shrimp instead of al pastor, carne asada or pollo. It was a great change, not overcooked and went well together. I would definitely order this again. Al Pastor taco 4/5: I always have to have al pastor on something. So I ordered a taco along with my burrito. As mentioned earlier, the al pastor is pan fried after cooking to give it little crispy burnt umami flavor. Love this. Overall, El Cerrito is still my go to taqueria. Highly recommended in the area.

My friends and I convened at this restaurant on a Saturday for lunch after flying at the Bay Area Flying Club. The restaurant is close enough to the flying club that you can either walk or drive to there, which was rather convenient. I ordered a plate of typical Mexican food - carnitas, rice, beans, and salad. This is usually my go-to at Mexican places if I don't get tacos. I was quite hungry, since we didn't grab lunch until 2PM. The restaurant wasn't very busy, which was nice. I was given a few tortillas with my plate, which was nice. However, the meal in total wasn't very satisfying to me. The carnitas were a bit dry and salty, and the other portions of the meal did not stand out to me. Overall, this restaurant was a convenient stop for us and provided a cozy and relaxing atmosphere, but the food was lacking.

Busy place during lunch hours. I drove by and found it in a small shopping center. Good quality food and reasonable prices. It's simple service ordering at the register and they call your number when it's ready. I tried a super burrito with shredded beef and a horchata. Very tasty. The salsa they make is very good. Easy payment system at the counter. Good place for a quick meal.

Every time I come Home for the holidays I stop off of the 5 freeway to devour the most authentic & best tasting Mexican food in the bay and frankly Souther California too! I always get the super burrito with no cheese if sour cream but keep The guc! The food is on point all the time it's so delicious and so fresh the chicken is high-quality. It's so so good the salsa and it's wonderfully spicy. They do have poco if you can't handle mild or hot salsa. You won't be sorry if you stop your only regrets if you don't come I'd the absolute joy you would of had eating here! Mom And pop and legendary Mexican food!

The most awful quesabirria my wife ever had. No dipping sauce and just awful - the meat was as tough as rubber.

Sadly, I've been coming to this place for the past 15 years and watched it go from a great taqueria with good food to a sorry shell of its former self. Back in the day, there was value to be had - you could get a two taco combo for $6.99 and help yourself to chips and salsa at their salsa bar. The service was never great (it was hit or miss) but you could count on having a decent meal most of the time. My last time here (about two years ago) was pretty awful but I decided to give it one more try today. I ordered a two tacos combo plate with horchata and my wife ordered a quesabirria. Everything about the food sucked. The tortillas were practically burnt, the chips tasted stale and store bought, the salsas were watery and lacking flavor, and the meat was the worst part. The birria tasted like beef jerky and the chicken tasted rubbery and overcooked. They don't give you limes, radishes, or anything to liven up the food even a little. It's just all around awful. My wife's quesabirria looked like a disgusting soggy mess of grease and they don't even give you a sauce to dip it in. I am honestly shocked this establishment is still in business, but with some competition increasing in this area I wouldn't be surprised to see it shut down in a few years. I would never hope that for a business but I can tell the pride and joy of cooking has long left this restaurant. It's so sad because I used to enjoy coming here. Unfortunately, this will be my last visit.

First timer at this restaurant. I ordered the super nachos with carne asada. The asada was tasty and the chips were made fresh. You don't usually get fresh out of the oil chips at other places. I specifically went here because I was craving queso instead of the shredded cheese. They gave a healthy amount of toppings. Parking and ordering was easy and service was fast. I'm only giving 4 stars due to the pico de gallo being too liquidity. The bottom got pretty soggy, but nevertheless, I cleaned the plate because it was just that good. I'll be back to try the other types of food they serve.

The parking was a little weird, but I found a spot and checked it out. There was a party of 4 in front of me ordering at the counter. They serve alcohol, bottled sodas, and have a soda fountain. The place isn't fancy- pretty simple and a little dark but ok. It wasn't inviting enough to stay. The 3 guys working weren't too friendly but I wanted to try the fish taco and a shrimp taco to go. $5.75 seemed a little higher than normal for a taco but I figured the serving may be bigger than most places. After 10 minutes, I picked up my to go order on a paper plate with tin foil which made me chuckle. The fish taco was very good- great flavor, tender fish perfectly cooked. I'd rate it a 5/5. The shrimp taco was much smaller which was odd, but the flavor was also very good. The photo reflects a pretty small taco- and it definitely wasn't worth the price. 2/5 for the price. I would go again for fish tacos if I wanted food to go with no frill.

While I've done takeout, they do provide the opportunity to sit inside. Don't be fooled by their location; seriously a hidden gem. If you're in the mood for a quick bite, check them out!!

I had the pollo asado, which I thought was quite good. Overall, the food was solid and satisfying, even if it wasn't especially memorable compared to some other Mexican restaurants we've visited. The restaurant itself is nicely decorated, creating a pleasant atmosphere, and the staff was friendly and welcoming, which definitely added to the experience. This is certainly not a place to avoid--we had a good meal and a pleasant visit. It just didn't stand out enough to become one of our personal "must-go" spots. It did feel overpriced for what we got.

I'm not sure what is happening with Casa Orozco. First of all, I want to say myself Nd my family…read morehave been fans since the very ORIGINAL Casa Orozco was in Livermore. Many birthdays and family celebrations have taken place here over the years and one of the family favorites has always been their chips and salsa. We love it so much that often when we are making our own Mexican food at home, we will pick it up just as a side for the dinner. However, the last 6 times (not kidding) I have come and asked for the MILD chips and salsa, we get home and it is the super hot version. Now I'm not a complainer as I will eat any type of salsa, but our kids crave the mild because the hot is too much for them. One of the most common complaints among guests with Casa is that their prices don't match the quality or service. This is a perfect example. It costs nearly $20 for a bag of chips and a quart of salsa and to get home and have it been inedible for our family, is ridiculous. This has happened time and time again even after asking the hosting staff to "double check", "please make sure", "are you sure this is mild?" This obviously isn't the only issue. As many others have mentioned, food quality has gone down hill as a whole. Sometimes food seems stale or rushed. If Casa wants to remain a Livermore staple, it really needs to work on making the quality of their service match their pricing expectations. I am to the point where I guess I will have to dip a chip in the parking lot before taking it home.
