The chips were crunchy. The california burrito was good, though a little thin on the fillings overall. The carne ranchera was tender and also came with onions and jalapenos. First visit I hate to rate a Mexican joint subpar or average but I'll review it anyway. Definitely a only location and most likely family run. I ordered the 2 hard shell taco plate with carne asada and ground beef. Chips and salsa are usually 99 cents per basket but the cashier didn't charge me anything . I ordered one order of churros which was a little mistake . First thing first, the plate was ok. Just ok. The saltiness in the ground beef was so overpowering I could barely eat it. The so called basket of complimentary chips were stale and had and were being heated under a heat lamp. Unfortunately, they have a fly problem, I had to shew away a couple of flies several times while eating. One thing that causes this that they keep their from dual entrance doors open which is a No No. Of course flies are attracted and come inside. Lastly the churros they almost forgot that I ordered it, I had to remind them. They were unfortunately the worst churros very hard barrel edible. About two 6 inch in size cut .The rice was unflavored and the beans were canned refried with just shredded cheese on top .So with all these issues I described on my first visit led me to rate it a 3/5 for Dos Amigos. I got several different items from here that definitely far exceeded my expectations. I got the; Super Burrito- Stuffed! Loaded with carne asada and all the fixings. The burrito was super hefty and every bite was near an absolute master piece. Juices were flowing and not a single bite was left un-savored. Hard shell taco - This is actually one of my guilty pleasures. Loaded with all the usual fixings and cheese! I love regular tacos but the hard shell adds the extra texture and crunch factor that i absolutely love. Churro- The churro was okay. This place is close to home so I go here when I'm craving a burrito. I think the meat could be seasoned more but everything is pretty solid. Thought I'd check this place out since it was near a place I was going with my dog. They have a nice outdoor patio with quite a few tables. The parking lot is large and many spots available. I ordered the Carnitas Super Burrito. It was a good size, however, the meat was not as flavorful as I hoped. It is given to you on a plate wrapped in foil. After opening it, the tortilla on the outside was not warm. The inside was lukewarm. The staff here is friendly and the interior of the place looked good. And the service is so great - came with our 2 year old and our dog and ate on the outdoor patio! They brought water out for our dog, and had plenty of high chairs available. Really really good tacos. The street tacos were exactly how you would wait street tacos. Had all the fixings. Al pastor over the carne asada. Al pastor had way more flavors. Nice char and smoky taste. A bit spicy but nothing crazy. Meat was incredibly tender and juicy. 5/5 The carne was also good. Meat was tender but not nearly as much flavor as the pastor. I also got the crunchy tacos which is perfect over the street. It was a bit bigger and came with cheese on top. Their orange sauce was . Spicy but has a sweetness to it. Pairs well with all the tacos. Decent service but more on the expensive side for Mexican food. The mango margarita tasted allot better than the house. Two Amigos has become our go-to taqueria in a town with quite a few taquerias (most of them mediocre). We stopped in one night because it's close to where my wife works. She loves mole, saw that they had mole tacos on the menu, and asked if they had chicken mole enchiladas. The owner, who was working the counter, said, "No, but I'd be happy to make you some." My wife said it was some of the best mole she's ever had, and now she won't go anywhere else. I always figure tacos are a good bellwether for how good a Mexican restaurant's food is going to be overall. Two Amigos' tacos are piled high with so much meat that it's hard to pick them up. I've had the pastor, carnitas, and carne asada, and they're all delicious. Their chimichangas are easily big enough to fill up two people; I usually eat half and take the other half home. Last night, I had a chimichanga with alambre, which is a meat option I'd never seen at a taqueria before. It's carne asada mixed with bacon, onions, bell peppers, and melted cheese, so I was intrigued, but I asked if they could make it with pastor instead of carne asada. No problem. Man, it was great, and big enough that I was stuffed to the gills and had plenty leftover for lunch today. Their salsas are outstanding. I especially love the orange one, which I assume is habanero even though it's not eye-wateringly hot. Great taste and respectable heat though. They also have a full bar with decent margaritas. I lived in Texas for almost 30 years and have been in California for 15, so I know good Mexican food, and Two Amigos does NOT disappoint. read more

Service is friendly (on the surface) and the food is usually pretty good. My kids go to classes nearby and we usually stop at this center for McDonalds (kids) and Two Amigos (adults). My gripe is the food is never consistently portioned. You never know what youre going to get and thats a problem when you also consider their pricing is never consistent either. Im fine paying $17 for a burrito or carne asada fries these days, but the portion should be consistent from purchase to purchase. If your sign says Carne Asada fries $11.99 and I ask for Carne Asada fries, i shouldnt be asked "do you want to add meat" and then charge a few bucks more. I figured after that maybe i would be getting extra portion of meat...but no, not the case. There are other similar shady issues, like up-charging for chips and salsa...literally the only taqueria Ive ever been to that charges extra for this. After this most recent issue, as well as 2 other recent ones, Im done now. I'll pass on the convenience of this taqueria being nearby. Fiesta Taco, Rancho Grande and Cocina Mexico are better options in Pleasanton. read more

Ate here before going wine tasting with my Nana. Food: * Super nachos: 2/5 With pollo adovado (bbq chicken). Comes with tortilla chips, cheese, salsa, sour cream and guacamole. It was served lukewarm and the cheese was already hard. Also, there was handily any guacamole or sour cream. Chicken on the nachos were cold. We only ate a few bites. * 3 hardshell tacos with carne asada: 3/5 Taco shells were delightful but again the carne asada was served lukewarm with minimal sour cream. The meat was a bit hard. Saving grace was I really enjoyed the taco shells. Drink: 5/5 * Victoria beer * horchata Service: 5/5 The cashier was extremely polite and helpful as was the waitress the brougt the food to our table. Overall, i'm not sure if I would return. Was in the area and decided to give this taqueria a try. Well it wasn't that great for us, I was dining with a friend and we ordered two chili verde burritos to dine in. We received only one burrito. I was only charged for one burrito so I had to order a second burrito. My friend and I shared the first burrito while we waited for the second burrito. The first burrito had no meat in it. The second burrito had meat in it. Chips were extra charge and they were broken pieces of tortilla chips. The burritos were over priced too. $16 for a burrito! I'm not from this area and thought I'd try this place as I was craving Mexican food. I may have been their first customer. Hence service was excellent and the young man who took my order was attentive and personable. It was around 11am. I had the Ranchero breakfast burrito with refried beans instead of whole. I requested no jalapeños as I'm more of a salsa person. All ingredients in my burrito tasted fresh and not salty. I ordered my burrito to go and was so pleased that it was piping hot. My small criticism is regarding the sautéed onions. I love onions but felt the pieces were just to big. Aside from that, their salsas were all yummy as were their chips. Stopped by on our way home from the night market in Pleasanton. Pretty small space tables inside are pretty small there was a cool little bar with a variety of alcohol. The menu was posted hard to see but pretty much basic foods. The service was great very attentive and kind. The gentleman checked in with us after we got our food and also offer us to put two tables together so all four of us can fit. My tacos were really fulfilling and did have a lot of carnitas which I love my daughter got the quesadilla but she wasn't a big fan of it and my other two kids got burritos which they also didn't really care for. Once again, we were hungry. Looking for someplace new to try, we found Two Amigos Mexican Taqueria on yelp. Sounded good so we decided to give it a try. When we arrived, I realized that we may had eaten here once long ago. At the very least, we had looked at it. Ordering is done at the counter. The menu is on a board above the counter. They need to work on the menu some because the font is much too small for older eyes. Once you place your order and pay, you get a number, find a table and food is brought out to you. It was unclear whether or not chips were included but when we asked, we were given a couple of bowls. There is a salsa bar so you help yourself to your ability to handle heat. Service was decent. I have to say the Pastor had a "sauce" which was odd. No flavor of pina. The Ranchero was OK with not a lot of flavor. The Mole was good and the house margarita was great. Owner was friendly. This was my favorite taqueria in Pleasanton. But my recent visits haven't been as magical as my first visit. First, the food is still good no doubt. But I just feel that the store is a lot stingier now and hasn't been consistent. For example, now we have to pay for chips and salsa and you don't get any salsa if you don't ask for it with your meal. I loved their chips, it was one of the best and I love their jalapeño salsa. The salsa is literally why I keep coming back other than for their Al pastor tacos. But last time when we paid for chips, we literally got a bag of broken chip bits and the salsa quality was inferior to some other visits. The salsa was not blended enough and have separated. I understand that due to supply chain issues it is hard on small businesses but I would be a lot happier if they just raise the prices on their entrees but continue to give better services. This time, I ordered four tacos and a super burrito and it came with no salsa! The tacos are supposed to come with salsa on it but the amount on the tacos is very pitiful.
