We had an absolutely fantastic dining experience. You will find the entrance to the restaurant is absolutely beautiful. It is located in Encore Hotel which is walking distance from the Wynn. As for the menu itself, it has a very unique coastal Mexican menu to choose from. The appetizers & entrées were spectacular. Our waiter did a fantastic job of helping us choose from their menu. We had a large group so we shared some of the entrées and the surf and turf was delicious as was the Branzino. Be sure to save room for Dessert as they were incredible & their presentation was picture worthy especially with La Flama Blanca! We will definitely be back. read more

The place is beautiful, with its candlelit decor and cempasúchil flower ceilings. I first tried some of their desserts and tamal through a Three Square holiday fundraiser box from various chefs around town. From that experience, I knew their dishes would be authentic. We ordered the tuna tartare to start and it had the most delicious sauce I cannot explain. All I can say is it had a bit of a tangy kick to it, and it reminded me of a sauce I've tried in Mexico. The maitake mushroom was amazing, and the white mole sauce made it a very unique dish. Did not disappoint. I wish I knew all the ingredients in that mole. Our waitress was very knowledgable and explained all the ingredients to the dishes when asked. I recognized some flavors from my family's cooking, so I wanted to know what herbs or chilies were in each thing. She highly recommended the tilefish, which was crispy and subtle. It was perfect. We loved it! Might be our favorite dish. The lamb birria did not disappoint, and the tortillas, as well as the tostadas were so flavorful. The salsa was excellent. I only wish I could have tried the whole menu. At the end, we received a surprise dessert that went above and beyond. It was fired at our table, and tasted like an ice cream s'mores made out of churros, which really undersells the creativity and presentation, but it was unbelievable. I have nothing but positive remarks regarding our dinning experience at Casa Playa at Wynn! I have to start with the exceptional service provided by our waitress Hannah. I am long in the tooth and have been to many restaurants throughout the country and overseas. Hannah is near the top of the servers I have been exposed to in all my years dinning. Javiers has some unique menu items and she took the time to answer all questions posed and was glad to give suggestions when asked. The food was excellent in quality and taste and we will be regulars from here on out. Really pleasant to talk to as well and just created a really fun night for us. I'm sure he did that for all the other tables as well since he seemed to get along with everyone in our area. Gem Lettuce Salad (with pepita cilantro vinaigrette, corn nuts, cotija cheese) - hopefully massive portion size on this one which we were not expecting! Definitely appreciate the large size. Lettuce was fresh and crunchy and not too many of the corn nuts or the cotija cheese is which was nice to lower the calories which is what we were looking for :) We had actually asked to put the dressing on the side but they must have forgotten that. Either way the salad wasn't soaking and dressing or anything so appreciate that. Summer Squash Tamal (with mole verde, thai basil) - just WOW !! BEST DISH OF THE DINNER! It was warm and soft and so delicious! I was very skeptical when husband decided to order this, but I'm so glad he did. Such a lovely, smooth, subtle and texture and just a really amazing item! If only the portion size were much larger haha. Half Roasted Tamarind Chicken (With Guajillo Salsa, Chimichurri, Sweet Potato) - Ready half and half opinion on this one. The chicken was cooked absolutely perfectly soft and tender and unbelievably yummy. Sweet potato on the side was a perfect add on. Only thing is the Tamarind made it a little tangy for me. And that chimichurri as well as the guajillo salsa were both fairly oily so I ended up not having any of it. Husband absolutely loved the dish as a whole though, so I think the dish opinions would matter a lot on your personal taste buds. Choco Taco - Husband decided to get this for dessert after having quite a difficult time picking between the options. The flan looked amazing as well but he decided to go with this. It was basically a chocolate waffle with some chocolate ice cream and some more cream and what not going on. Aesthetic was really lovely but I feel like it was too rich in the chocolate flavor for me and coffee cream was a bit too too strong. It also seemed very heavy on the fat and creaminess so we did not have that cream part. I think a vanilla ice cream instead of the chocolate would have really brought it all together. Otherwise, quite a nice concept. They got my husband a special little dessert at the end which was like too little mini churros that were coated in chocolate and turned into an ice cream sandwich with some vanilla ice cream in the middle. I honestly preferred this over the dessert we ordered. The churros were nicely crunchy and who went well with that vanilla ice cream. They should bring this on the menu, haha. read more

We stopped by today and got the beef empanadas, spicy tuna tartare and a waygu skirt steak. Everything was fresh and delicious! Simply fantastic, this restaurant is located in the Wynn family of hotels next to the Encore sports book. It claims to have a very strict dress code, but since the pool is so popular in the hotel I think the staff is a little relaxed while the sun is still up. We came in for an early dinner and we requested Andy, he has served us before, and honestly I can't think of why I didn't review him before. He is a fantastic server. Very knowledgeable and super witty, he brought us a lovely dessert for our friend's birthday last time we were here it lit up and burned away and left a tasty treat. We were so blown away by his service that we came back for more of it and were very pleased to have him again. I ordered the salsa which they made in front of us, my wife was smitten by it! This time I went with the prawns, they were pretty big, almost mini lobsters. The yellow mole was very spicy (for my tastes) caught me by surprise. But I still ate the shrimp which weee delightful. The green rice was buttery and spectacular. We also got the flan, the mango had an almost crème brûlée texture. Came here for my birthday but was definitely not my first time, would recommend that you put in a reservation ahead of time as this place is always packed, it's also a known restaurant where it can be taken over by business dinners during big conferences/conventions. Don't risk it by doing a walk in. I ordered the Mexican Blue Shrimp Ceviche, Barbacoa Flautas and the Casa Playa Surf & Turf for the table which were all amazing. The Surf & Turf can feed up to three people if you decide to order appetizers. Also ordered an old fashion which had great smokey flavor. I hope this review helps!! Loved the food and the service! We had a reservation for dinner and the hostess was kind enough to direct us to the bar while we waited for our table. Our first round of drinks were two En Fuego cocktails - highly recommend. Ambiance in the restaurant and the bar was intimate and the music wasn't too loud. Although it was busy, our service was above & beyond. Blake and Ryan were a pivotal part of making our night memorable since we were celebrating a special occasion. Every dish we ordered was incredible from start to finish. The flavors for each one were so unique and you could tell a lot of thought was put into each dish. Seafood Platter - exceptional and the display was amazing. We weren't too impressed with the Octopus A La Plancha, but that was partly because it didn't compare in flavor to the Squash Tamal that Blake recommended which was phenomenal. The Cripsy Tilefish and Wagyu Short Rib Suadero were so good that we had to bring both home with us. The Green Rice and Cucumber Salad that were recommended to us were also really nice touches to go along with the Short Rib. The second round of cocktails included the Wild Card and Obsidian - also highly recommend if you like a refreshing drink to go with your entree. Had pretty exceptional experience at this restaurant. Our waitress was so sweet and so accommodating the staff at the restaurant were very nice and generally quite attentive. The food runners could use a little bit of experience maybe example our courses came out that they never refreshed our tableware so often times we had food with no forks or knives. The food itself was fabulous very clean very well done and designed recipes. Most of them were a little more special than your average Mexican cuisine I would definitely say it is a much less casual restaurant than most of the ones that we usually eat at at the Wynn and for that I probably wouldn't go back, but I'm glad that I tried it! read more

WOW! Exceptional food, drinks and service. This is exactly what you expect from a restaurant in Vegas. The service and ambiance were great. It feels very festive and the atmosphere with the flowers the fish the lighting just so top tier. Our drinks were great and they did have a very nice wine list though one of our party was not a wine drinker so we opted for cocktails which were truly delicious. We shared apps, the salsa is made table side and exceptional, the guacamole of course was luscious and the Queso was insane. We were having a hard time deciding what to get so we opted for the very sharable surf and turf, that almost had everything. It was so good and there was so much food. We were stuffed and so happy, seeing some of the beautiful desserts other tables were having we wished we had room but we will just come back again. Absolutely loved this place. So beautiful inside. They welcome you with a rum shot with pineapple and tajin (was so good we ended up ordering them 2 more times). We got a plate with all of the meats to share and they were all amazing but the skirt steak was the best for me, my boyfriend loved the short rib. The green rice was very tasty also and my boyfriend really liked it. (He's so picky with food). Of course I had to order different desserts for the pictures and the experience, the churro were my favorite. I didn't care much for the other two. Service was also great and everyone was very attentive, my purse had its own little chair which I thought was so cute. Really a fan of this seafood centered Mexican restaurant. It's in the Encore, has beautiful orange flowers in the front of the restaurant, and a large tequila/mezcal focused bar. I ordered the branzino, a dish I've never ordered before. It was put in Orange and lemon juice, chiles and cooked to perfection. Probably some of the best fish I've ever had and was only $39. My wife and I were pleasantly surprised by Casa Playa. We decided to go here after not finding a reservation available at Sinatra and SW. We were promptly greeted by the waiter who asked what appetizers and drinks we wanted. We ordered chips with salsa and guacamole. The salsa was made in front of you and tasted amazing. The guac was OK. My wife ordered the Tilefish which was amazing while I ordered the Chicken Tinga Enchiladas which were pretty good and had a unique flavor. Best of all the drinks were amazing as was the waiter service. We will definitely go back here the next time we're at the Wynn. read more

Great ambiance (it's Wynn) and great service (it's also Wynn) but unfortunately that's pretty much it at Casa Playa. Even on the busiest long weekend days (we dined there on Memorial Day) when all other restaurants are booked for weeks in advance, Casa Playa still has open tables. As a vegan, I found their menu very uninspiring and very limited. We had the vegan enchilada which was 90% fake cheese and the chile roasted Chinese eggplant along with guac and salsa, rice and beans. Those unfortunately were all the vegan options and even though the ingredients were high quality, the final dish was just not there. read more

Wow! What a great restaurant to have tried my first visit to Vegas. The initial entrance amazingly showcases the coastal mexican fusion of the menu. There are so many photo worthy sports around the restaurant itself. You should probably have reservations, and if you do I'm guessing you'll be seated within 5 minutes of arriving (on-time). Our waitress with very quick, attentive, and great at suggestions. The four stars comes in to the fact that one, the pitches of margaritas were the exact same price as how many glasses you got out of it, it just made more sense to order individual ones with different flavors. It was also sad to see only one mocktail on the menu, when there were definitely 15-20 alcoholic cocktails. The food itself was pretty delicious. The rest of the table tried the tuna tartar (not for me) but they loved it. I literally have dreams of this place. We reserved this place on a whim because the birthday girl wanted Mexican food. It was one of the best random decisions we made. It's hard to miss this place when you see all the orange flowers outside. It's absolutely gorgeous on the inside. I literally am transported to MX with all the decor, with a splash of modernism. Overall a really nice experience. Beautiful restaurant. We had the blue shrimp ceviche which was okay. The guacamole was not super flavorful. The salsa was really delicious. We split the branzino and it was phenomenal. The tortillas- fresh and soft. The sides we got were green rice (great flavor) and cucumber salad which was refreshing. I had the obsidian margarita which was tasty. Waitress was lovely. My only complaint is there's a dress code listed on the website but when we got there people were wearing T-shirt's and ragged shorts. I got dressed up thinking it was going to be fancy. The mushroom tacos were simply divine - the mushrooms were sautéed to perfection, with just the right amount of spice to tickle the tastebuds. I savored every last bite, happily surprised at how such simple ingredients could be transformed into something so flavorful.
