Awesome food! My favorite Mexican restaurant. Service is great and I love the drinks.

I live within a 5 minute drive from here. My family and I (at the time of writing this, it is me, wifey, 7 year old boy, 2 year old girl, and 10 month old boy) eat here at least 3 times per month, sometimes more. The food is usually great, bordering on fantastic. I HAVE noticed though that the food quality goes down with the amount of people eating. The busier it gets, the less time they spend making your food good. That is my biggest complaint - inconsistency. BUT by no means let that discourage you from coming here. I have had almost everything on the menu and my favorites are the Real Fajitas (steak, chicken, shrimp, and Chorizo), the Carne Ranchera, and the Rancheritos (for a variety!). VERY kid friendly. It's pretty loud in there, so you don't have to worry if you have kids with "volume problems" lol. I will say that I much preferred the decor before they decided to re-do everything with the current plastic-molded, bright, Mexican-themed furniture. The booths are not as comfortable and...honestly I really think it's ugly! I'm trying to balance this review with positive and negative, so I'm sorry if it's coming across as scatterbrained and inconsistent. Me and a group of friends went here for the taco special they had going on, and I personally won't be coming back. Our waitress was very short with us and was possibly talking about us in Spanish to the other wait staff (since they were looking at us while doing so.) She barely checked on us too while we were eating our bland, lackluster tacos too. The whole experience was degrading and unfriendly. Won't be coming back. read more

Whent on Friday night . Wait 15 min for table. We were told they were understaffed. Hour and a half later. Still no food after ordering. Ended up helping couple before us get thei meal, due to waiter trying to give to us. Shoyld have taken it. Waitress finally told us they lost our ticket. Bar tender yelling at waiter, who never waited before how to ring up build you own nachos over the counter. The staryed swearing in spanish when some guy made her go through all the imported bear they had. She was Manager??? Nasty nasty. We paid for drinks and left. No food. Margaritas for 5 dollars tasted like soap and made me sick to stomach. Soda fountain strawberry with jug of marg mix not even on ice and nasty. Thank goodness for China Gardens. Ended up with excellent food. Just go there in the first place. Second time screwed at Casa. NEVER going back. read more

Excellent food, service, and atmosphere, from start to finish it has a very authentic Mexican feel, and the food is wonderful and you get a lot for what you pay! (The wet burrito is HUGE) highly recommend this place, the bar and the margaritas are also amazing, and on Mondays half off! You can't beat a deal like that! read more

Food flavor has become bland over time and everything now tastes the same. Refried beans used to taste good, but now they look and taste like a pile of slop. Chips are dry and bland. Service is hit or miss. They need to change it up then I'd try it again. For now, avoid. read more

This place is not good. I went there to order a carry out and the person helping me was a kid. She did not know the menu when I asked. When I got my food it was very very bad. barf barf. By far the worst Mexican Food I have ever had. Tried the breaded ribeye which at best was a piece of shoe leather about 1/8 inch thick and the knife could barely cut into it. The burrito and chimi were good. The shrimp and scallop dinner was covered in cheese to hide the burnt onions in the dish. We will never go back to this resturant. read more

We went out to eat here a few days ago. It was a Saturday late afternoon/early evening. They weren't too busy but did have several tables full. Our server was great. She kept us in chips and drink refills. She was very nice and personable. The atmosphere was nice but felt the table we were at was a little dark. I got the El Mega Burrito which is huge. Was only able to eat half when I'm the type of person who normally cleans my plate. I got the chicken and steak mixed, the meat was awesome, very tender. But I feel like it was missing something, even with the sour cream and guacamole it seemed a little bland. But like I said for the amount of food you get for the price it is well worth it. I think next time I'll try one smothered with either cheese sauce or red sauce to see if the other things are bland. My roommate is a vegetarian and really wanted chili rellenos. She couldn't find it on the menu but our waitress said it was no issue to do a combo with them, so she got cheese chili rellenos which she said were awesome. There was 2 big ones and it was served with rice and beans. We will definitely eat here again. read more

I've been here several times and it is always good. But I came on 11/25/15 for 50 Cent Taco Night. I had a shredded beef, a ground beef and a bean taco. (3 in all.) All three were excellent. Maybe the best tacos I've ever eaten. Very very good. And for 50 cents each!! I highly recommend. read more

Worst Mexican food! A one hour wait for our lunch to arrive, only to find that everything was inedible. This is a must skip restaurant.

Average food for the price being a little steep. My daughter ordered a kids meal that was supposed to include a drink also. She had ordered a Mexican soda with her meal. The waitress didn't even inform her that a drink came with her meal. I realized this information towards the end of the meal and asked for the drink that she was supposed to have received with her meal. Have not been back to casa real in couple years. Was dissapointed in nacho order. Nachos short on meat and wasn't broiled to get chips warm. Asked for extra cheese but couldn't see any. Ordered same dish on our previous visit which came to us at that time exactly as it should be. Waitress excellent. However, noticed crumbs and dried food under glass on table. I think they need to tide up the booths, tables. Also why does silverware look like it never made diswasher. Decor beautiful but needs some basic attention to table tops. Dissapointed in our experience but may try again. What is with all extra booths packed in at back door. Looks like no one really cares about first appearances. read more

I live in Oxford, so I've been there 6 times. Most of the time to meet family, because I would never go there otherwise. Bad food, bad drinks, bad service, and just a bad atmosphere altogether. We eat here all the time. Our favorites are the Healthy Tacos (vegetarian in lettuce leaf - amazing flavor) and the Mariscos Mazetlan (seafood medley - incredibly good). The service is usually very fast and friendly and the place is almost always full, so that says a lot right there. The prices are very reasonable and you can ask for an Amigos discount card that gives you a discount on each visit. read more

By far, the worst place I have ever worked for. The lack of consideration for employees and customers alike is upsetting. There are a very few employees in there that seem to care. I only worked there for a few months but in my 10+ years of food service Industry experience I was appalled on a daily basis to watch how things ran. There needs to be more concern for the workplace and sadly, not even the owner is willing to work out the details to his own establishment. Food there is fair, I have had better. But that's only if you can get it in a timely manner. Usually understaffed. Good luck getting those margaritas on time as well. The bar is not only under staffed but also as bartenders they don't seem to see the bar and the restaurant as one. Usually the bartenders ignore the servers tickets and carry on about their business because their tip money in front of them is all they care for. Poorly managed, poorly staffed, and poorly care for. Worst lack of teamwork I have ever seen. The customers however! The regulars, fun and fantastic and sadly, they shared some of the same concerns as myself. Which usually means if the customer can see it....than its pretty apparent. Needs lots of rehabilitation of the employees and management alike. Glad to say I will never be back there! read more

We have been giving this place a chance since they opened. Last night was their last chance and we only went there for a charity event. The food is always "ok", but the service continues to go down hill. I'm not sure if management doesn't bring in enough servers or the staff just doesn't care. Love Casa. Truly homemade food-at worst it is good, at best it is spectacular. Actually like the variance, just like my own kitchen. Staff is wonderful; wish they would up the quality on their margaritas--offer a fresh juice version. They have tinga, which is hard to find but inspired us to make it at home as well. this place used to be awesome. it was our go to restaurant for years. We had stopped going there for a year and when we returned we were very surprised. unfortunately, the food has become "Americanized" over the years. It is now bland and boring. We figured that maybe it just happened to be that visit. So we tried again. Same disappointing result. They have now matched the place just south of them in taste and quality. By far the most disgusting psuedo-Mexican food ever. I grew up on the Texas-Mexico border, and the place is as far as you can get from authentic. The chips were greasy, the queso was like white soup, the chile rellenos were swimming in a pool of water (proof they were frozen not fresh), the beans tasted like they were cooked in sugar water and the rice was orange colored mush. The only good part was the margarita, so drink a lot of them to survive this garbage or, better yet, save your money and go to Taco Bell. read more
