I was sent here to get their tacos and I was glad I did. Don't let the very plain storefront turn you off, the food inside is great! I was the only customer in the place on a Sunday afternoon. Chips and salsa arrived immediately, the salsa was mild and had plenty of fresh cilantro chopped into it. The margarita at $8 was a huge bowl of ice, tequila, sour mix and other good stuff, a very nice house drink. Ordered the carne asada tacos which were deceptively simple: soft corn tortillas, chopped steak, chopped onion and a generous portion of guacamole, plus I added a squirt of lime juice over everything. Excellent flavor, very satisfying and a total bargain at $6 for two. Not entirely sure but the name seems to be Mi Casa Reveles. Alas I missed the famous waiter named Victor. read more

I had high hopes, given the reviews... it was a disappointing night. We were there on a Friday at 7:30 and while the parking lot in back was full, the restaurant only had two other occupied tables. One was a family desperate for their bill; they waited close to 5 minutes and finally walked into the kitchen to ask for it. We didn't see anyone in that time either (we were seated and then left); once the waitress returned with their credit card, I asked if we could order and she was attentive for the remainder of our meal. The chips and guacamole were very good but the menu was uninspiring and food was high mediocre at best. My son ordered the brisas del mar and it was woefully over cooked... the chicken mole was so so and while my Carne asada burrito was flavorful enough, it fell apart within two bites and was just a big blob of food... During the entire meal we listened to raucous laughter and yelling from the kitchen - best guess is that all the cars in the lot belonged to friends of employees and they were all too busy to pay attention to cooking and customers. Two entrees, a burrito, two orders of guacamole (small so had to order two) and one beer was $66 so I can't even say it's a cheap meal; the booth seats are all taped up and it's borderline grungy inside to boot. I have no problem with dives, but I do have a problem paying restaurant prices in a dive and that was the case tonight. I gave two stars only because the waitress was very nice and the food was ok... I certainly can't recommend the place and won't hesitate to avoid a return visit. read more

Came here for lunch after a 5.5 mile hike just east of Ramona. There were 15 hungry adults in our group, and VICTOR, amazing server, took great care of us. Our food was delicious, hot, fresh and above average for Mexican food. The carnitas and JALAPENO MARGARITA were especially good. No one had any complaints about the food and we all agreed it was a good choice for lunch. My family and I loved the service and the food. My parents shared a molcajete with all the meats and they loved it! I loved the enchiladas suizas and my brother love the plate of carne asada. We consider ourselves really picky about mexican places given that we are a traditional mexican family and all we can say is that the food tasted excellent and had flavor. Wow. What a great molcajete meal. First I'd like to say that when I was greeted by Victor the manager, I knew by his great demeanor that I was going to get the VIP service that I am accustomed too. I decided on the molcajete and tweaked out the ingredients a tad bit, Victor was great in making this to my liking. A must try if ever in Ramona looking for a great Mexican home cooked meal. Where to begin! Awesome food awesome staff decent ambience. I went with a party of 6 and was a little turned off when we were the only people in the restaurant on a Sunday afternoon. But once we were greeted by Victor we knew it would be a pleasant experience. The service was top notch and he was very attentive drinks state full and so did the chips. Service is tops. I ordered the Carne en Chile and my wife the Chuletas they were both very satisfying with generous portions and mine was perfectly spiced. We will definitely be back. Excellent food and very friendly people working there. Menu has more than the typical Mexican menu you usually see in Ramona. I usually get the shrimp diabla which is just spicy enough. The diabla sauce is the best I've ever tasted. Also excellent on the fish. They serve very large portions and we usually end up taking food home. They also have spicy salsa, but usually you have to ask for it. I like hot and this stuff is HOT. I've been to the place about ten times and have yet to be disappointed with the food or service. The food is delicious and prices are more than reasonable. The hot chips, fresh salsa, and chunky guacamole are perfect to snack on while you wait for your meal. I've had a few margaritas here as well and they were great and not too sweet. But what really makes the experience wonderful is Victor. He is probably the best server you will ever have. He is genuine and really cares about his customers. I have been here at least 10-15 times and have always had a positive experience. Don't forget to order dessert! Casa Reveles is such a fun hidden gem but I still wish more people knew about it. It isn't ritzy but it definitely has it's own charm. We ate at this establishment last night and the food was really terrific. I ordered the Brisa del Mar and it was SOOOO delicious. My husband and son-in-law both had fajitas which they loved. My daughter had the Molcajete and it was a LOT of food and she said it was outstanding. Our server Victor was AWESOME. So welcoming and so efficient with our orders and bringing things when we needed them. If you're looking for great food and great service give this place a try. This place is great but unfortunately they are low on staff so you might not get that special treatment that you want( just suck it up). The service is great, Victor is an amazing server and the food there is amazing and quick. Not many people eat there because of really low staff but that's the reason you should go, because you will get seated quick and get your food quick. I'd that... got the beef tacos which were bland.. and the cheese enchiladas taste like the sauce is out of a can... and the xango had little cream cheese... boooooriiiiiiing... Yum and yum. I was part of a group of friends visiting Ramona and we didn't know where to eat. We looked up Casa Reveles and the reviews were good. When we got there, we were warmly greeted and they had reserved a table for the ten of us. It only got better after that. The Margaritas are AMAZING and they have several varieties. The beer list is fantastic, deep with many Mexican brands that work well with the food. Oh, the food! ALL of us LOVED every plate we got! The portions were PERFECT - not too ridiculously overboard with just the right balance of beans, rice, salad and main portions. I had the fist tacos and they were PERFECT - the best I've had! Honest! The food comes out quickly so you don't have to wait for it which is amazing since each dish was so perfectly prepared and presented. We all shared a rich, creamy, home made flan that was a great way to finish the meal. In fact, I loved it there so much that I returned the next evening for another dinner that was just as good as the first. And Mayra, the server, was fantastic! She was right on top of things with serving, taking care of what we needed, was super friendly, and just great. I can't wait to go back. its been awhile since my wife and i been at casa reveles we need to start making it a weekly thing. victor just the best and the food is always good. go for the happy hour carnitas tacos small but so good and the brisa del mar dish is so filling and good, if you want something different get the fish in garlic sauce, so good just melts in your mouth. there upholstery could use some work but over all a nice place. read more

All of the locals know and love Victor, the heart of Mi Casa Reveles. In all of my 40+ years, I've never had a more friendly, happy, and attentive server. My husband also loves Victor's bar tending skills, and highly recommends the jalapeno margarita. I've never had a meal there that I didn't absolutely love! We were the only patron's in the restaurant at 1 PM on a Sunday. Our food was served luke warm at best. If we weren't up against the clock for a meeting I would have sent it back. Since it was a chicken dish, after leaving the resturant I hoped I wouldn't become ill due to the low food temp, I was fine but wouldn't revisit this resturant, there are other Mexican restaurants in Ramona better. read more
