    Birria Taco no cheese unexpectedly
    Jaz M.

Small parking lot with narrowed main entry. I was greeted at the register and placed a Togo order. The birria tacos were ok but had no cheese. Was told after I ate and asked that those with cheese are quesabirria tacos so keep that in mind when ordering. Flavor was ok. Side of rice and beans were added as well. Not my favorite but not the worst.

The foodie fam hit up Tacos El Manny for Foodie Friday! Tacos El Manny in Granite City, Illinois, is a hidden gem that won tacos of the year at Taco Fest. Their shrimp loaded fries are a gift to St. Louis. The fries are extra crispy with cheese and shrimp. These fries do NOT get soggy. They stay crispy throughout your meal. The portion sizes are huge so go hungry. Beyond the shrimp loaded fries which are my favorites, the menu has an impressive array of authentic Mexican dishes. Unique items include the Mexican Ramen and Mexican hotdog. Manny is so sweet and hbut likely thinks we're all nuts lol! He's not wrong. Highly recommended!

I had never actually been to the brick and mortar Tacos el Manny location. I have only ever had the food truck at Taco fest, etc. I'm so glad I got to check it out! The staff was friendly and very patient with our large group. The birria is amazing! I got the quesabirria because I just HAD to. One of my favorites. I cannot wait to try the birria Ramen next time I go. Mouthwatering!!

Fantastic tacos! I see the stlHEADLINERS best tacos title is well deserved... if you can't decide, go with the pastor taco - you won't be disappointed! Can't wait to try something new next time! Also, the place is very clean, decor is nice and the staff is extremely welcoming!

This place is worth the best tacos award for sure! The service was so friendly, she asked if we'd been there and then explained the tacos, made some recommendations, laid out the sauces that came with it he chips, super helpful. The walls are covered in cute taco related signs. We both had tacos, husband had a strawberry margarita, I had horchata- both were excellent.

Great food and service. The sauces are delicious. Fun decor. The street corn is sweet but can be spiced up with one of their three sauces which they bring to the table.

Service was great and birria tacos were the best I've had so far. I'm not usual usually a corn shell person but I loved it here.

Servers will come by and tousle his hair, say hello, wave to him, they are just genuinely so sweet and kind; it makes our day. And they are busy too! So it means even more that they make the time to treat us like family. The food is some of the best in the area, the place is always busy, and who doesn't love a margarita? It does get loud, but I've never had trouble hearing my meal partner. We will keep coming back!

This embarrassing process continued until the manager came over and offered to replace the dish. The fajitas veggies were well past cooked and were slimy. The beer bottles were cool but not cold. Service was terrible! No siding of table or removal of beer bottles or dishes until we left. There were 9 guests in the restaurant and I counted 18 employees. I did not understand why they could not clean our table off. Employees were leaning and talking. It's pretty obvious the profit was not an obligation to this business. Ambience was OK if you want to be in a big restaurant with lots of light and look more like an employee stand around meeting without regard to their customers. Long and short, this is one of the worst dining experiences I've had in years and I will not go back, and I would recommend that somebody think long and hard before they give this organization any dollars.

Just looking at the menu you'll think "ok, typical greasy spoon type place ". But they are much better than that and do take pride in what would appear to basic diner fare. I went with the buffalo chicken wrap and opted for onion rings instead of fries. The wrap itself was full of crispy crunchy chicken, with the right balance of lettuce tomato cheese. And the buffalo sauce brought just the right amount of heat. I couldn't put the thing down. But the star of the show was the onion rings. These are probably the best I've had and it'll probably be years before I have better. Perfect light and crispy, the right crunch, and the tender onion makes a clean break with every bite! You know what I'm talking about--when the rest of the onion wants to slide out of the rest of the ring? Atmosphere is charming and fits what you'd expect for this kind of establishment. Owner and staff are incredibly friendly and welcoming. Prices are reasonable. I'm looking forward to returning when the daily special is bacon wrapped meatloaf with mashed potatoes. Highly recommend.

We stopped in for carry out - ordered a breakfast wrap & 2 burgers (1 bbq and 1 Rt 66). It's fun inside, cute signs. Wait wasn't long at all! They had a sign in book & ofc the Route 66 stamp. What could improve / could have been better: Order accuracy: I received a breakfast bowl instead of wrap. One of the burgers was a bacon burger & neither matched what we ordered but they were decent burgers! Food preparation: The hash-browns were cooked on too high of heat, so not fully done but burning in places. 3/10 at best. Carry out specifics: no napkins, no flatware. They accept card, but tips are only cash. I don't love that & would prefer somewhere be fully cash only or accept cards & allow tipping. I had called to asked prior to arrival when placing my order to inquire about cash or card & they noted card was fine, so I didn't have cash available to tip unfortunately!

Ambience: the majority of the eating area is outdoors in a heated tent. It's a nice vibe and lets you feel like you're sitting outside without actually having to be outside. It can get quite busy at peak times, but they have a great pick up option as well.
