We were in the area and stopped here as it was the closest restaurant to us at the time. We are so glad we did, as it turned out to be a very good lunch experience -- one that we would happily repeat. They have a number of lunch special at very reasonable prices along with a slew of your favorite Mexican fare dishes in various combos. You will find something to eat (and like) here -- even if Mexican cuisine is not one of your faves. They start you with a comp basket of taco chips and salsa. The one not so good thing is that the salsa is a bit watery, but its flavor is good. My husband had their taco salad. You could choose beef or chicken. He had the beef. It was a number of items layered in a taco shell shaped into a small bowl. He said it was quite good. He did add some hot sauce from the condiment rack on the table to perk it up. I had their lunch fajitas -- the beef was cut in strips and served with sautéed onions and green peppers in a light marinade in a small square hot dish. Along side was another (very hot) plate with refried beans, yellow rice, a bit of salad, pico de gallo, and guacamole. Everything was excellent. Two small round soft flour tortillas (you could have corn ones if you wished, instead) came on the side, as well. I ate the meal deconstructed and took the tortillas home (for breakfast tomorrow) along with some of the rice, beans, guacamole, onions, and peppers. The menu is extensive and has many different options to choose from. Any and all plates are absolutely delicious. Food is hardly even okay. We live in texas so we're used to a much higher standard. Food was bland. Carnitas were not horrible, but the accompanying guac was mainly lettuce and tomatoe. Refried beans like a soup topped with cheap cheese. Chicken Caeser salad was just a bad joke. Got food to go the first night because wife is wheelchair bound and it was very near to our hotel. We chanced it as a dine in the second night and told them we needed a spot where she would not be in everyone's way, and was usheted to a booth in a narrow passage where waiters were forced to carry trays of hot food over my wife's head as they negotiated around her. Allison was great, provided us ample amount of time to decide and recommended us some of the restaurant's specialty. The pork belly tacos were super flavorful with the pineapple toppings cutting the grease that pork belly usually has. My taco combo with enchilada had a hearty portion and was piping hot! Hot sauces on table were authentic ranging from green habanero sauce to red and smoky salsa. Overall, great value, service and hot food. A while back I attended a birthday celebration for a friend at Casa Tequila. We had a really nice time. The hostess was friendly and seated us right away. She gave us a nice table with plenty of room for our group. She was very pleasant and I appreciated her hospitality. Our server was efficient and helpful. She handled our large table of drink and food requests easily. She knew the menu well and remained attentive. She remembered it was my friend's birthday and brought her a dessert with a candle. Our food was standard Tex-Mex fare. Casual in nature, it pleased the masses but didn't wow us. I really enjoyed my Taco Salad. It was big and fresh, with tons of ingredients. There were no surprises good or bad, which offered a very nice dinner. The restaurant is spacious and warmly decorated. The staff was really nice. And our food was very good. We tried their curbside pickup recently due to COVID, and it was flawless. Ordering on the phone was easy, and once we arrived, we simply called again and they came right out with the food and to collect payment. I have been a few times and have enjoyed my burrito, tacos and other combos, my favorite combo is the dos amigos. Recommended by my waiter- it was a combinations of a grilled skirt steak and bacon wrapped shrimp with seasoned rice, refried beans with Guac. and sour cream in the center over some greens. The plate is huge and filling and my friends who ordered fajitas were covering my meal. The smell of cigars from next door shop permeates the restaurant walls at times. To stop the spread of Coronavirus South Florida is under a stay at home order. We can go out for necessities including groceries and carry out meals. All Yelp events are currently cancelled. . Yelp's Big Night Out was a great idea. Since restaurants were only allowed to have pick up or delivery we could make our own event by getting a great meal from a local restaurant. Our favorite Mexican restaurant is Casa Tequila. That's the restaurant where Clyde and I got carry out dinners for our Big Night Out. When we drove up to the restaurant one of their servers, who was wearing a face mask, was stationed outside taking orders. As soon as we parked he came over and took our order. Everything on their regular menu was available including their delicious Margaritas. For our appetizer we decided to share their special freshly made guacamole. For our entrees we ordered enchiladas and pollo Mexicano. I ordered a margarita and Clyde ordered a beer. Our meals came with a big bag of nacho chips and salsa.. It didn't take long for the order to be brought to our car. We were looking forward to a great meal. In keeping with the theme of Yelps Big Night Out I set the table with nice dishes, silverware, candles, and a bottle of wine. The food was fabulous. I enjoyed every bite. We had the delicious guacamole. Their enchiladas were large and covered with melted cheese. The pollo Mexicano is one of my favorite dishes. It's chicken made with a chipotle cream sauce. If there was a totally Mexican Restaurant listing I would give Casa Tequila the 5 Stars. Now to my review. We were greeted by a very nice young man who explained the choices of seating areas. This was not our first visit so I was familiar and opted for the bar area, VERY comfortable chairs, and not noisy. Within minutes of being seated we were served with nice warm Tortilla chips, Salsa, (Not very hot, but piquant), and water. We were a party of three, a friend my wife and I. Our friend doesn't care for any hot spices at all but she didn't complain. I got some Hot salsa for my taste. We ordered drinks, 2 Frozen Margarita's and a coke for me. When the drinks were served our waiter, Luis, asked if we were ready to order or wait a few minutes, which is what we did. When we were ready he came right over and took our orders. Our friend had Arroz con Pollo, chicken with rice. She said it was very good and it looked good. My wife had the steak Fajitas which came in a sizzling plate served with rice, refried beans and salsa. She too was very pleased with her choice. I ordered the Carne Asada, a strip steak served with rice, refried beans and salsa. I asked for medium rare and it was cooked perfectly, the steak was soft and flavorful. I know the Ladies were pleased because we ALL finished our plates, and were quite satiated! In reading other reviews I noticed one that stood out in my mind. And it's something to consider in reading restaurant reviews. They all relate the writers opinion. Tonight's menu Asada y Mas, it's a grilled skirt steak that was served with rice and beans. The dish was not horrible; it's nothing that I would order again. I wanted it spicy, and there was no spice in it, the skirt steak was cooked well done, and it was dry. The beans I did not like it at all, and the rice was subpar. Super burrito, it's a soft flour tortilla that was stuffed with pork rice and beans with melted cheese on the top along with lettuce tomato and sour cream. This dish is supposed to have shredded pork, and instead, it seems like it might've been chopped but not that good, the pork was dry, and the overall taste of the burrito was tasteless at best. I believe my fiancé echo the same sentiments I have, but one positive thing was the cost. It's been a long time before I walked out of a restaurant paying under $30. The tortilla chips and salsa are the bright spot of the evening as they were very good Our server Louis was MIA for quite a while, but when he did show up at our table, he was very attentive. Disappointed. This was my first time at this restaurant, but I was honestly expecting more from a place like this. Beautifully furnished and decorated, fantastic chips and salsa and that's it... The waiter came once took our order and disappeared. For about 20 minutes he came in and out of the kitchen, but he didn't check on us even once. We called him 2-3 times until finally he came over. Customer service 10/10 Marta the manager goes above and beyond to give each customer the perfect experience and waitress and waiters are ready to help with advise as necessary and are very friendly.
