Visited for the first time on 7/20. Fun place, GREAT service and better yet, YUMMY food! Had the Fajita Burrito. It was loaded with tender fajita seasoned chicken and very fresh onion and peppers. My hubby had the Colorado Burrito with an excellent red sauce. There was more than enough on our plate for the price! Can't wait to go back again! WARNING: Margarita's are SO good, and SO potent! Today I ventured to Hartford to have lunch at Casa Tequila with a friend. The atmosphere and environment was very inviting. We were greeted by of the staff immediately. The hostess stand is off to the right of the entrance when you step into the dinning room. Not a good location as we overlooked it since the employees who were greeting us were in the bar. Recommend moving location of hostess stand closer to door and out the flow of traffic to the kitchen. After being seated at a high top table in the bar we were provided chips and salsa while we reviewed the menu. It was a few minutes before our server came to get our drink order. I would recommend providing glasses of water for the customers at their table. The menu had a nice selection of food which included lunch specials, dinners, salads, appetizers and a children's menu. We both ordered from the lunch menu. I had the chicken quesadilla and my friend ordered the beef taco salad for herself and a hamburger for her son. We ran out of chips while we waited for our lunch. No one offered or asked if we wanted more. Our lunches arrived and our initial reactions were the food was hot, presentation was good and everything looked great. My friend stated her taco salad was very good and she actually liked their re-fried beans. My chicken quesadilla was very good. The chicken was moist and had a nice flavor. I was surprised that no salsa, guacamole, lettuce or tomato garnish was included with the plate. The re-fried beans were OK (not a fan them) and the Mexican rice had little flavor. The server never came back to check on us (some else did eventually) and never refilled out drinks. He came back at the end of the meal when we had been sitting for a while looking at our plates. He asked if we were done, if we needed boxes and then put the bill on the table. The empty plates remained on the table. Overall the restaurant shows some promise. They need to work on their service, work-flow and address some of the bland food. If they want people to drive out in the middle of nowhere they will have correct these problems and make it a place that has something that 'clicks" with customers. At this time they do not stand out from any other Mexican restaurant. Right now they are a new restaurant and everyone is checking them out. The "newness" will wear off and the question is what is going to make people want to come back? They have a unique opportunity out in Hartford as the area needs a good Mexican restaurant. Hopefully they will work the bugs out. I will return to try them for dinner and cocktails in the near future with my husband. I am hoping they make some tweaks or my next visit will be my last. The food was just OK and could use some color to brighten the plate. Salsa, greens or other colored spices or garnishes would make the neutral plate stand out. Shredded spicy cheese on real refried beans would also help. Maybe some zip to the rice also would be a great contrast. I might suggest various levels of salsa heat to add to the top of the main course. Overall a good value for the food and the service was quite good. Maybe they're good because of their margaritas? Ate there once with my family. The salsa wasn't very good and the chips were stale tasting. I had the shrimp enchilada which was mediocre. My husband had a beef burrito which he didn't care for at all. Would not return again. read more

This place was a great place for Mexican food in Hartford, maybe a bad night. Sunday night not so many tables full. My wife asked for water and another glass of wine. The waitress didn't bring either until I asked again. Then it took a while to get either of them even after asking again for "a glass of water" it took two more trips to get the water. read more

Just opened, used to be DeAngelo's. Very busy the first few weeks. We think the food compares to Su Casa in Menomonee Falls, which we like a lot! Still have some bugs to work out, but nothing major. Some of the best Mexican food I have had. Everything I have tried has been really good and the service is super fast and attentive. In 2013 we loved this place.... went about 3 times a month. then they opened another location (West Bend) in 2014 and took most the Hartford staff! We stopped going because they went downhill with both the servers (inexperienced, not polite), the hosts and cooks (food was not as good, a lot smaller portions and did not put stuff on plate that was on menu description and they got mad when we asked for it!). Only went maybe 6 times all of 2015 and maybe 10 times in 2016. They have finally improved to be near where they were in 2013. Food was tasty, cooked well, and staff nice. We will try again and see if improvement continues. read more

We brought two little ones here last Sunday night. Nice atmosphere, good menu. We had a half order of guacamole. Not as flavorful as some we've had, but still good. The portion was perfect for an appetizer. Dinners were excellent, I liked the house potatoes that came with. Overall a nice experience, we will return. read more

Food has changed over the last 6 months...Has become very generic. Had a combo plate NOT Impressed. Chicken was good, pork was terable tasted like jimmy deans with some spice in it, steak was not great either...kinda seems like they went to all sissco brand foods. I've eaten here numerous times, since it opened, and have had the same opinion each time. Margaritas are fabulous, but order the pitcher for $22, instead of the jumbo, $8 each. It may save you a couple bucks. (You will want more than one). Chips and salsa, before the meal, are ok. Sometimes the chips are warm, but usually they are cold, so I asked for new ones, and the bartender was very gracious to get me warm chips. Staff is very attentive, and personable, although we have had to wait for our bill a few times, while watching staff congregate in a little room off the hall. (We can see your reflection, from the bar area, in the mirrors). Food is fair, prices are good, restaurant is clean. Tile floor, around bar, is VERY slippery when wet. Be careful. I will return. We went to Casa Tequila because we had a Groupon. I would definitely go back. Our server was so sweet and recommended his favorites to us. I had a wonderful Guava Margarita and order the taco, enchilada, and chimichanga combo plate. Next time I go I am going to order just the pork chimichanga's. It's not that the other food was bad, it was that the pork chimichanga's were so good that I wanted to eat like 5 of them. read more

Anyone who knows me--even a little--knows my love of Latin food. I am like a bloodhound; I can smell the cocina a mile away. So, even being out of my element in Hartford, I found a brightly colored hacienda waiting for me to walk in. I visited during lunch, and I decided to mix things up by trying a tostada. Being ala carte, I went with two chicken served minus beans with onions and cilantro. My fellow diner envied my plate, as she ordered the same but with the described toppings (i.e., lettuce, tomato, queso fresco, beans). She said that mine looked more appetizing. It certainly tasted as wonderful as it looked. The salsas served with the complimentary chips was one of the best I have tasted. I normally prefer a hotter salsa (upwards of habanero), but completely dug their mild offering. The tomato chunks mixed with the lime and cilantro...I wish I had the recipe. My other fellow diner went with a combination platter of enchilada and soft taco. She enjoyed hers so much that there was not much conversation coming from that side of the table. All told, with our 3 meals and 3 beverages, the total with tip came in under $40. I had to look at the bill twice, because I expected it to be much more. There is much value in what Casa Tequila is pushing out of their kitchen. Now, I would like to try their dinner service. I am looking forward to it. read more

Watered down margaritas...very disappointing to say the least!! Never will go there again. We asked and were charged for the GOLD margaritas but did not get them!!! Food was ok but not it's usual. I think management has changed. I do not recommend!!!! read more

Have heard great things about this place but have to be honest, our food experience was meh. We had a very nice waiter and he was quite attentive, but the food was mediocre. My husband and I had the ribeye tacos and the meat was overdone. The beans did not taste like traditional Mexican retried beans. My mother did enjoy her combinacion. Enjoyed great meals on a busy Saturday evening. We made reservations and were pleased to find our "reserved" table awaiting us after a draft beer at the bar. Complimentary chips and two salsas whetted our taste buds. We tried the enchilafas de Espinacas y queso and the Parrillada and loved both. I had a "Combo" platter so that I could try the different dishes. I had a taco, enchilada and chime. The chime was not what I was accustomed to as I'm from MO. It wasn't fried. I will be brief: mediocre food at best, no flavor, stale chips, sour and low alcohol content margaritas, watery cheese dip, cold food, flies, smelled bad, unimpressionable service, and stomach issues after eating there. We have been to Casa several times and had good meals but on 12-11-15, we had a horrible experience. The bar area was visibly dirty and fruit flies were abundant. ( A clear sign poor cleaning habits). The meals we had were also not done well and the orders were not correct. After bringing all this to their attention, the offered remedy was a complimentary drink - upon requesting the incorrect meal be removed from the bill, they agreed. Really disappointed in the service and uncleanness. A real deep cleaning and refocused effort on service is needed, reluctantly have to talk this restaurant OFF our list and look for another Mexican food option. read more

Our waiter (Scott) was the best waiter we have ever had. He was attentive, courteous, and all-around amazing. The food and atmosphere were well beyond what we had expected for the price. This was the first perfect dining experience I have ever had. I find it hard to believe that these low reviews were from the same place. If you haven't been here lately, I urge you to try again. I am a big fan of Mexican food and find that most of the restaurants are mediocre around here. This place by far beats Su Casa and La Chimenea. I found the salsa to be just ok but the meals were good. The house margaritas were comparable to Su Casa and far exceeded La Chimenea. Good value as well. I hope this place can survive in Hartford. read more

Living in Hartford there is not always a lot of choices near by for restaurants. We did decide to give it a second try as we were not impressed with the first try. Buying a groupon this time because I was a little leary. The groupon is only good for Sunday or Monday which is fine because this is a slow time for restaurants, I understand. However going there tonight was absolutely the LAST time I will ever go there again. I hate to be so negative, but cannot understand how you order and not even three minutes later your food arrives. The rice was dry and cold. I ordered a beef taco and received a tostada that had chicken and was just tasted horrible. The server brought my Taco that was supposed to be beef. but again it was served on a corn tortilla like a tostado and very bland and untasteful. I was very embarrassed as my guest did not eat his entrée and I knew he was just being polite. Please serve fresh food not food that has been sitting around that you can serve under 4 minutes. Enchiladasl were soggy and tasted old. The chips were greasy and cold. honestly the best part were the beverages, will NEVER go back. Very disappointed again and will never go back. read more
