I reviewed Casa Vallarta almost two years ago and only gave it three stars (mainly due to the karaoke), but now after many visits to our "go-to" local Mexican, they've gotten my 5 star upgrade. Food is terrific...particularly the arroz con pollo, carne asada and their tacos al pastor. Unique wings ....yep, wings, are pretty darn good too. We're big fans of the chips and unique cabbage based pico as well. Best of all is the way Luis and Juan take care of us. We always sit at the bar for dinner and really enjoy the great energy. Games are on, ice cold beers are flowing and the tequila selection is top notch. They both know my liking for good tequila and are always introducing me to a new bottle.... I used to go here with my parents about 15-20 years ago! We got a coupon in the mail on Friday night and decided, you know what we'll give it a try. We ordered two combos and two drinks. I got the chicken enchilada plate and my husband the 2 burritos plate with beef and chicken. We shared our plates with our 16 month old. We got a sangria and beer. For all of this it was only $35! The pico comes with cabbage and is super fresh and yummy. The chips were hot and tasty. Both of our combos, including the rice and beans were very flavorful and even our toddler loved it all! The only thing I didn't enjoy was the sangria. We will be back for sure! read more

My fav Mexican place (since there is not a Chevys here)! Service can be a little slow at times, but they've always made up for that with free drinks! Chile relleno is not their speciality, but get the chimichanga, enchiladas, or smothered burrito and you will not be disappointed! Very comfortable place, especially for those of us with children. My friends and I love this place! The happy hour is the best with free tacos/hot wings if you buy a drink. The margaritas are handcrafted to perfection. If you want a strong, cheap, and well made margarita this is the place. On weekends they have karaoke nights and those are especially fun. Very disappointed. My friend and I have been coming quite regularly and although the food wasnt great the service was good. Not anymore. We were not greeted at the door had to chase down someone to seat us. Put in a booth. No water...no chips...nothing....half an hour later had to go to the kitchen to ask for service...finally got menus...again...people walking by...just ignoring us. One of the waitresses Reyna(?) acted as if we were bothering her by asking to order. I really hate it when I have to write a review describing the bad service I received at a business or dining establishment. A pleasant visit is happily revisited mentally when putting together words to describe a great meal or experience. And, likewise, you relive the negative events over and over when descriptive adjectives and nouns are applied to illustrate the bad experience you have had. This is an update to a non stellar review we made for a previous visit. This was our second visit. The food was s a little above average, the bar is great, the dining room is nice. The Mrs. had the chicken tamale with rice and beans, (I swear the breading on tamale was a quarter inch thick), my chicken fajita burrito was sort of "soupy" inside, but tasted alright. But alas, the service is consistently lacking. Our waiter on this visit was scarce. We saw him at our table three times, although he was seen occasionally at other tables, he had tunnel vision when walking past us. We had to go to the front and ask the hostess find him to get our check, then we had to go to the cashier to pay our check, as he disappeared again. The food is usually good, but If you can find dark humor in expected bad service this place may amuse you with a pretty good "floor show" of isolation, indifference and inattention. read more

This place is gross! There were flies swarming everywhere and the bar area smelled so sour of old dirty dish rags. We found a massive long black hair in our tortilla bowl and when heading to the bathroom and glimpsed at the kitchen it looked incredibly dirty with food thrown all over the expo area We will not be returning.. if the flies were that bad at our table I can't image how gross the kitchen is. Being a foodie and absolutely LOVING Mexican food I was excited to see a 4 star spot close by as we have yet to find good Mexican food in Colorado since moving from Texas (where there is AMAZING Mexican food everywhere). This food is bland to say the least. From the salsa to the enchiladas! My taco and tostada was so mushy that I had to eat what I could with a fork. This places food always has plenty of flavor and great green chile! I can't handle spicy, so I love that they have options there. Absolutely my favorite place to be. Cold beer amazing and friendly atmosphere! When a restaurant says they're a "family restaurant" this is what you look for. Variety of plates and drinks. Everyone knows your name when you walk in. You literally feel like your going to your aunts house! Rafael the owner, candido and juan (all brothers) are such good welcoming folks! I have been quite a few times, and it's consistent in their quality of food. The beans are subpar as you need quite a bit of salt to make them palatable. The wings are amazing however, and are quite flavorful and have a kick! The happy hour is sufficient. I do enjoy their food, except for the sides. The service however is spotty. Sometimes you get a server who cares. However, the majority of the time the servers aren't interested in their job and barely stop at the table. read more

went in on mother's day we did not have good service and the nacho's were soggy and the manager was not very happy, register didn't work. they tried to charge us for the replacement meal and the nacho's on our bill, the manager couldn't help us the server had to do it. our server came to our table twice my friend has an autistic son and I don't think the waiter could handle that so it was not a very good experience and very bad service. won't do that again read more

We sat out on the patio which could be a very nice experience but they were blasting this terrible pop-metal music over these really old speakers. It was super annoying and actually ruined the experience. I was like finger nails on a chalk board. Why not put some mariachi or latino music on outside to go with the ambiance of the rest of the restaurant? We really weren't looking for a biker bar scene. read more

The staff at Casa Vallarta is friendly and accommodating. There is karaoke on Friday and Saturday, so it gets crowded. The owners and managers have little control over the kids running crazy while their parents sing Abba. When you're in, have the shrimp cocktail or the pollo a la crema!! So I suggested to my husband that we give this place a try due to the high rating here on Yelp. It was just ok. Nothing to write home about. But I am going to write about our experience here. First of all, my husband parks the car while I go get a table. The hostess seats me and I said, "My husband is parking the car. He's wearing a black leather jacket." That means, when a guy in a black leather jacket walks in, bring him to my table. When my husband found me, he said the hostess gave him a blank stare in response to "You just seated my wife." Apparently, the hostess wasn't very bright. We ordered chile con queso as an appetizer and it came out lukewarm, if that. It was somewhere between cold and barely warm. Queso doesn't taste very good when it's not hot. I kept trying to flag down our waitress, but she kept walking away and doing something else. She disappeared for quite a while. So here we are sitting with a bowl of cold queso. The next time we saw her come out was with our entrees. So we told her the queso is cold. I start eating my beef fajita burrito, while my husband starts on his combo plate (enchilada, tostada, and tamale). I guess I should start off by saying that the entree plates are enormous. No person needs that much food at one meal. Our waitress comes back out with our queso. It's not any warmer than it was before. Grrrrrrrrrrr... and at this point I'm eating my meal and I don't want to send back the queso again, because then they probably would just spit in it. Who the heck knows? I've heard the stories from coworkers and friends who used to work in food service. Both of us left quite a bit of rice and beans on our plates... the burrito was ok. I probably would've been just as satisfied by ordering two tacos and no queso. All in all, I'd have to say Hacienda Colorado is 10x better. So for the person who said Casa Vallarta is better, NO WAY, José! We'll drive the extra distance to the I-25 and Colorado Hacienda to get their homemade tortillas, refried beans, queso, and guacamole and enjoy our "Make-our-own" burritos. What can I say? You don't know what you don't know. So until you try something, you have no clue what it's going to be like. Oh yeah, and they had this god-awful karaoke going on. Our table was closest to the karaoke room. One couple towards the end sounded like a dying animal. We were about to call the humane society. Not exactly the most enjoyable of environments... In summary, burrito/combo platter were ok. Queso was bad. Service was hardly mediocre. Karaoke was horrible - it should be done in a soundproof room. But I can see how this place might be decent if you downed a few margaritas beforehand. read more

Great place for inexpensive and fast yet great tasting Mexican food for lunch. Go there get the lunch special and you can be in and out of there quicker than a McD's. They have some kind of magic oven that spits out your order of burrito, enchilada, tacos or chalupa in less than five minutes.
