Awesome place. Free bread basket with freshly made garlic bread and bread with marinara sauce on it. Also has infused olive oil, a eggplant sauce and bruschetta on the side. My wife and I visited this restaurant, for the first time, about two weeks ago, after it had been recommended to us. The food was terrific and ample and the cost was in line with Bocelli's. My family and I went here for my fathers birthday and enjoyed the live entertainment and all the food was phenomenal. We will definitely be retiring. Being a wounded warrior this restaurant made me very upset. I was going there to relax and enjoy a delicious Italian meal but instead my meal was completely ruined . There were no handicap accessible bathrooms despite having a relative call the restaurant ahead of time and the manager confirming that did have handicap accessible bathrooms. So I had to leave. I believe this is against NY law since the restaurant changed names after 1991 when the father passed and the son took over. It is too bad since I know a lot of the food is good . But I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone especially for lying to earn a buck. read more

Superb place for great food! I have been here a few times the chef/owner is amazing! His service is good & he is very great with making your order custom to your need & request. Everyone eat different these days.. Vegan.. Paleos... Kosher.. Halal.. And his nice with understanding what you want.. He'll make it and his not gonna bang you over the head with the pricing either! This is the first time I've been here. I don't know if I would ever go back. The food is reasonably priced, you get really good sized portions but I just couldn't enjoy my main course. I had the tortellini and grilled chicken. The pasta was to cooked and the sauce was very watery. So I was very turned off. I also had the mozzarella sticks as an appetizer. It wasn't good either. The cheese was rubbery and the other crust wasn't seasoned all that well. The service was was really good. I had no problems there. I was, and Dominick, Jr. creates a superb veal plate with two types of peppers and a lip-smacking sauce. Love, love this place. I have driven by this place and honestly didn't think it was as good as it is. Usual Staten Island prices, but you get an amazing bread basket with side goodies and free salad with dinner. The food is amazing, the ambiance is even better..... they got a grandpa singing oldie songs sometimes and on Sunday afternoon you can order heros, etc. pizza is yummy too. OOOO and the cosmos are perfection. Drinks have a nice amount of vodka in them, not watered down like other restaurants and nice size glasses too. In all Love this place. This is our favorite Italian restaurant on SI. I compare it to many. The food is always great. This is my place to go to have a family party and get together. Dom gives big portions, great bread basket to begin with, seafood is perfect and my husbands favorite veal franchise. You really could cut it with your fork!! Everything is delicious. We went there with a party of 22 - old friends just getting together. The food was good, and the service was excellent and everything was reasonably priced. Casa Nova is extemely family oriented and reasonably priced. When you sit down you are welcomed with an assorted bread basket of bruschetta toast, foccacia, italian bread and some of the most DELICIOUS Garlic Breadsticks I have ever had paired with a plate of olive oil for dipping, bruschetta or eggplant spread. Penne and Vodka and Chicken Franchese are favorites for us. My children love the bread basket alone! Their selection is plenty and I havent chosen a bad thing yet. We have had a party in the party room and our guests have left very happy. The staff is cordial and kid friendly which doesn't happen often these days in other restaurants. We have seen the owner serenade his guests on their birthday and been made to feel welcome each time we have gone with our children. We have added Casa Nova to places we eat frequently and have had gatherings for our son's baseball team. The only complaint I can think of is that my kids never want to leave :o) read more

First of all we were all freezing. They turned down the air two seconds later they turned it up... so uncomfortable, the air was blowing right on us making us and the food cold. Also the seating isn't very comfortable all tables and chairs and I tell you the padding on the chairs could be thicker. I had mozzarella and tomato appetizer which I have to say I make much better myself. The salad left much to be desired. I had veal parmigiana. The veal itself was very nice and tender but I have to say the sauce is almost all onions. I am not use to having onions at all in my sauce but this was overkill. The potato croquette was tasteless. Coffee was good nice and strong but the spumoni was hard as a rock as I was trying to cut it it almost flew across the table. Overall very expensive for a meal I could have made much better at home. I have drven past this place many times and never ventured in because I remembered it as a small pizza and snack bar as part of fun station. I didn't think it would be worth it. However, a friend recommended it and we were pleasanty surprised. The food was good and not too expensive. The bread basket hot and delicious. They had a singer which was nice. The one negative comment about this popular restaurant is their lack of bathroom facilities for handicapped patrons. Even McDonald's has bathrooms for people in wheelchairs, and yet Casanova Restaurant, a very profitable and thriving restaurant , is either too cheap to install good bathrooms, or they don't care about handicapped people. read more

Was there recently for a baby shower in the so called party room. With the Fun Station /Laser Tag on the top floor it sounded as if they (the kids) were gonna come through the ceiling. As we were sitting there, the radio in the room cuts off and starts playing HAPPY BIRTHDAY?? There must have been children's parties going on upstairs at the Fun Station, why was it coming through the speakers in the party room for the restaurant?? Very odd and disrespectful to the party being held. The service was horrible. The waiters were not very friendly and could not understand what we were asking of them. We asked for a children's cup and we were given a pint size plastic container with a hole cut into the top for the straw. Are you serious??? Why do they not have children's plastic cups/glasses? Now onto the food, it was horrible. The only thing that I could possibly say I enjoyed was the garlic bread. All the rest inedible. The entree was a chicken franchise, The chicken was chewy (rubbery) and did not taste like lemon and butter at all. The only thing on the plate that I was able to eat was the potato croquette and part of the broccoli. I will not be back nor will I recommend this place to my worse enemy.
